I crashed a USC law school night at H.Wood, so I can't vouch for the accuracy of my review on most nights.  One of the best parts of my experience at H.Wood was the absence of offensive physical contact between male patrons and my non-consenting ass or waist.  Such groping seems to be part of the Hollywood experience, and if H.Wood keeps it classy without relying on an all-student clientele, kudos.

The venue was decent, with dance floors and bars on two levels.  There was no cover and drinks were $10 apiece, which is fair by Hollywood standards.  The club lacked the glamor and epic decor of other nearby venues, but I didn't miss it much.  If I were to pay for bottle service somewhere, I'd probably choose a little more glitz.

I do wonder why there were goons in black suits waving flashlights on the dance floor - I think they were security men, but they seemed to be annoying more than they were enforcing.  Overall, I had a good time here, and my night got even better when I walked to 25 Degrees across the street.  I kind of doubt I'll make it back to H.Wood, but I didn't hate the place.

I honestly haven't been here since November 2009, but I felt like writing a bad review. So here it is..

The first time I clubbed at H.Wood, I didn't care for it..probably due to the small, overcrowded dance floor. I wasn't thrilled about coming here a second time for a friend's birthday.. but with the promise of bottle service, I thought maybe my experience would be better this time. Wrong!

I did enjoy having a table. We danced on the couches..and had the space to hangout comfortably.

At one point of the night, my friend and I decided to venture out from the group. She was leading the way towards the stairs, and we were holding hands so that we would not lose each other as we pushed through the crowded dance floor. That is, until this bouncer forcefully stepped in front of me and broke us apart. It wasn't intentional or anything, but he was standing in middle of the walkway when he should have been to the side guiding people through. Annoyed, I gave him a little shove in the back with my forearm as I made my way by him. Next thing I know, I'm being pushed from behind -- hard enough that I hit the wall and scraped my shoulder. With so many people around, I had thought that it was just some obnoxious drunks..but when I turned around, there was the bouncer, shining his stupid flashlight in my face. My friend said she saw him physically push me.

We started to get up in his face as well..but he was yelling, and the music was too loud to argue with him anyway..so we walked away. He followed us, still yelling and taking off his jacket like he wanted to throw down and fight me! Really? I mean, reallyyy? I'm 5-feet-tall and like 100Ibs! We ran for it.

The staff at the entrance took the situation seriously, getting our information and taking pictures of my shoulder; however, I still got the feeling that they weren't really going to do much about it. Sure enough, I received no phone call, no nothing. I should have followed up myself, but I got lazy. When the birthday girl did call to try to get a refund on her table, it got too complicated trying to speak with someone with that authority.

Never been back, and never will.

When we came, total choas. No lines? Just a crowd outside the doors.  Bouncers picking and choosing who was able to get in hours on end.  Was this place worth it.. probably not! =X We had bottle service, the music was ok, but that night was just not a good night for my girls.  Had to end the night early because of some drama!! But my experience there, being outside a club for that long, free or not.. SO NOT WORTH IT! You're better off at a local venue sipping on some cheap wine!! =X LOL. I've seen better. If my sister did not have a good time.. so we didn't either. Sorry H. Wood.

    DISLIKE.

The setup and design of H.Wood is too cramped and uncomfortable. The bar downstairs has basically no room for mingling or walking around, even though a DJ is spinning beats there (...despite the fact that there is NO space for dancing). When you go upstairs, it's a stuffy and uncomfortable dance floor with barely any room. There's an outside bar on the second level, but it seems as if nobody is out there. Sure, a few people are mingling out there, but it's just a horrible floor plan. I didn't pay to get into H.Wood since we were on the guestlist, but honestly, I was disappointed in this place!

Compared to other Hollywood clubs, H.Wood is a dingy and average place to spend your Friday or Saturday night!

Sorry H.wood, but you suck! Been here twice and it sucked both times. Thank god for fun people b/c without them, the place would literally be a shit box. Let me explain:

    - You'd think a two story venue would have a bigger dance floor. But nope, this place has a freaking tiny dance floor and it fills to the max. Especially on the 2nd floor. Couldnt breathe, let alone walk without sqeezing through or getting bumped.

-The bartender at the upstairs Cuban bar was a biaatch and got us kicked out because she thought she was da shit. Horrible customer service skills. If you dont like drunk people and have low patience (then find a new job lady.)

-Its in the Hollywood and Highlands shopping center, thats already a recipe for disaster when expecting drunk people to remember where they parked.

-When we stood in line at midnight, i was told they will only let 6-10 people into the club (for the rest of the night) b/c they are at their max capacity. The only space left was for people buying bottle service. We decided to do bottle service to get in quicker. They quoted $370. A little overpriced but whatever - we needed to get in for a friend's bday. Promoter comes back & tells us it will be $450 with tax and gratuity. UH, NO. And did i mention, they let in a whole group of people in the regular line while this transaction was going on? So we canceled the bottle service and stood in regular line and got in within 5-10 minutes. Freaking promoters where trying to make it appear like no one will be let in so people will buy bottles. NICE TRY....but no thanks. I'll pay my $20 bucks entrance fee and be on my way.

BUT if you must come to this disorganized hell hole club, here are some tips to make your life eaiser:

-If you park in the garage off Orange Drive, club is literally to your left coming from Hollywood Blvd....please read 2nd tip....
    - DO NOT TAKE Hollywood Blvd, big mistake for us. It took us 40 plus minutes from the exit just to drive a couple miles down to get to the club. Take back roads, ask around!
-Leave earlier to get on time, guest list closes at 10:30 for free entrance.
-PLEASE HAVE A D.D. and don't drink and drive. Spare a life & a hefty fine while keeping your dignity and respect.

    Thats all folks.....hope this helps!!

I normally don't like to review clubs/lounges (whatever) because i think everyone has different expectations of clubs.  I went to H.Wood for my school fundraiser on a Wed night.  It was dead when we got there, but another group was having a fundraiser too so it filled up pretty quickly.

I asked for a crown and seven up and she made me a whiskey sour with crown.... and it cost $12... i think before tip.  what.the.eff.  not only did she make me the wrong drink, it was weak.  that was enough to tip the scale so i'm giving the place 2 stars.  also i don't particularly like the layout.  if you're upstairs dancing and wanna get some air, you can step out onto the patio.. where it's filled with smokers.  awesome.

Went here with some girlfriends on a Saturday night and having never been here before, I wasn't completely sure what to expect.

I honestly felt like I was at a high school dance.  The music was shit and the people here all seemed like celebrity chasers and wannabe's.. I dont care what Disney show you are on.. that's not really my thing.
I will say that their outdoor patio type area is pretty bad ass.  I was into the decor.  Just wish the crowd, music and drinks were better

    Such a failure place.

    1. The door man tried me pull the wait in line thing even though we RSVP'd for an art event on a Tuesday? Funny thing, there was no line so we stood there until my friend showed up who was attached with boobs and a vagina. When we got inside, the place was dead!

    2. The bartenders need to get it together. Bar tending is a hard job, I'm sure, but if you hate your job, find a plan B.

We left this shit box and went to BARDOT duh...

    One word:

    WHACK!!

Yes, I had to use the lamest word to describe this place. Here are a few reasons why:

    -HARD to find!!
    -Drinks are sooo over priced!
-Two efen stalls in the ladies room (Totall BS!!!)
-Tiny dance floor. It's a joke!!
-The DJ sucked ass that night

This is all I remember... I took a few too many shots to try & enjoy the place. Yea, I lushed out!!

There are better places in Hollywod is alls I'm sayin.

Okay, so I don't know what this club is like on a regular night...I mean, apparently the people from The Hills go to it, so it's probably a b*tch to get in, right?  I don't watch that show, so...whatever.

There was a special Memorial Day party hosted by Party Til A.M., and it was pretty awesome.  As long as you knew promoters, you were able to get in without a problem.  I loved the club/lounge itself - cozy, woodsy, and uh...a little weed-sy?  Maybe I was the only one smellin' that, but I swear...someone was smokin out.

Drinks will run you about $12, which is average for Hollywood.  Plus, their drinks are f*cking strong!  Seriously.  Which is why I'm reviewing now, at 4:21 a.m., after piggin' out at El Taurino.  Actually, at El Taurino, I met some fellow Yelpers.  What a small world...

We came here because we were in town for the weekend and our friend's friends were already going to be there, so why not? We got there at almost midnight, which sucks but it was our fault for being late. $20 at the door?! Fffffuuuuu! Ok, it's whatevs we figure, we're only here for the weekend and drove quite a ways.

We first go upstairs to a super small dance floor that was wet! Could barely dance without getting knocked into by other people or by one of the many douchebags that thought shouldering through the crowd was the best idea to move around.

We go downstairs to escape the hot and musty upstairs. The bar was much larger but the bartender took wayy too long to tend to everyone. Add insult to injury drinks were like $12 a piece! Fffffuuuu! Not only that, but when we asked for a Red Bull/Vodka, they used Monster instead! I don't like Monster and it tasted like ass!

Fortunately, we still managed to have fun even after our wallets got a train ran on them. The people we were with was what made this place 2 stars, definitely not the venue or the crowd.

Don't go here unless you're with a good group otherwise you won't have fun and you'll only spend a fortune buying drinks.

Man....This place is why I HATE LA!!!!  Geez.

Pretentious, snobby, shallow, piece of shit, racist club.  NOT A FAN.

    98% white, 1% black, 1% asian.

Ok fine, some clubs just end with that ratio which is fine but this place is so "guest list" only/try and get past the bitch with a clipboard of power that one can only assume that they're handpicking who is "H.Wood worthy" which means....white, rich, douchbag with an Ed Hardy wardrobe or blond with huge fake boobs.  Not only that, but the best evidence is the fact that the birthday girl's other half of the party was not allowed in with the explanation from the promoter that "This place is really shallow.  Your friends probably didn't look the part."  Upon which we leave.  IMMEDIATELY.  What kind of birthday present is that?

    Whores.

Final rating:  -100.  Two very enthusiastic thumbs DOWN.

Let's start of with the good stuff. This club feels more exclusive, fairly hot crowd and music is good. The venue itself is open and airy (at least it was when I went there!) It definitely gives off a very cozy vibe! I loved it that they had people taking pictures and printing them out right away!

What I didn't like in particular are all the d-bags roaming the club basically scouting girls. If I say no to you one time you better believe I'll say no to you a second time! I guess the crowd is hot but maybe just not my type!

Minus one star because when I bought my girls a round of drinks, instead of charging me 4 drinks they charged me 5. I didn't realize this until later and didn't really want to go through the hassle of trying to fix it by then.

This place should be playing the scene out of Top Gun when Goose dies all over the walls on a continous loop, because that's how dissapointed, pissed off and sad you're going to be if you come here.

Wait in line and play the "exclusivity game" always fun, especially for a place attached to the ass end of a mall.

Pay 10 bucks for a thimble of vodka and a can of soda, nothing like it!

Enjoy the view of the new Affliction/TapOut/Ed Hardy seasonal lineup

Stand in the bathroom for 10 minutes having to take a leak and wonder to yourself why the person in the stall didn't take a decongestant before going out because they sure are sniffing alot in there.

On the way out, make sure to slap the female bartenders ass and say "thanks sugartits", pop your collar, and jump in your Florida plated Cadillac with Scottsdale license plate frame bumping "I'm in LA bitch".

I think my days in Hollywood are numbered. I just can't seem to hang with the Hollywood freaks anymore these days. Last night Melissa A. and I came out of retirement and went out to our old stomping grounds to visit one of our promoter friends. We got there at around midnight and the line in front was a total mess. Thank goodness for our friend or this might have turned into another Crown Bar "Jan" incident. Come very very early if you don't know anyone and are with guys or be prepared to stand in line for a looooong time.

The club is HUGE. I really wasn't expecting it to be so big! There are two dance floors, the DJ downstairs was playing a lot of Kings of Leon and MGMT. I was definitely a fan. So was some random dude who decided to buy the DJ a bottle for his spinning skills. Haha what the eff? Only in Hollywood... This place attracts the usual regulars: bottle blondes with scary hard implants and their sleazy guy counter parts. Definitely met some interesting characters here though. I was expecting the crowd to be better looking, but I guess Mondays are their night.

Oh and someone decided to make it rain NAPKINS in the middle of the dance floor last night. Hilarious.

Alright alright.  H.Wood is one those sucky on the outside, cool in the inside type of clubs.

By sucky on the inside I'm referring to the ridiculous hold up before 10pm.  If you don't get here before 10, DON'T BOTHER COMING because you won't get in.  I assure you.  Even if you're on the guest list for a friend's birthday you won't get in.  They'll make you wait for an hour only to tell you that you won't get in instead of telling you right away.

By cool on the inside I'm referring to when you actually get in.  I like the decor and ambiance.  I was feelin' the brick walls and the antique lookin'' leather couches.  Drinks are damn expensive, but at least the bartenders are nice.  The DJ played your typical mainstream top 40 music.  There were definitely some good looking girls inside, so I can kinda see why they'd be so selective with who they let in.  If you're not lookin' fly turn yo ass around and say goodbye because peeps definitely dress to impress in here.  We we went we ran into Chuck Liddell from UFC which was totally rad.

Overall a fun time when you actually get inside.  3.5 of 5 stars.

Saturday night. friend's birthday. bottle service.

I arrived late with 4 other guys and so we couldn't get comped with the bottle service our party got, so each one of us paid $20 cover even though we were on the guest list. I wouldn't have minded if the club wasn't so ghetto.

I was blitz upon arrival, and so of course everything seems okay. The dance floor was way too crowded. This was more of a hispanic club more so than diverse or asian.

The guys and i were talking about how we would've rather gone to a bar then the hassle driving to hollywood, paying for parking, and paying for cover.

next time i'd opt to skip this club and go to highlands inthe same plaza or somewhere down the street of hollywood blvd. For a club that appeared in the Hills.. i thought it would be better, but guess not.

Like any hot and new club, the minimum wage, mohawked douche bags that decide who gets in and who doesnt are condescending, racist, and disrespectful.

For a Saturday night, the lines are not long at all, and girls will not have a hard time getting in for free.  If you are a guy that is not a ryan seacrest look alike, you will have to pay at least $20.  If you go, try to avoid a guy named Mike.  hes a real ignorant asshole.

Let's begin by saying - this is not your typical hollywood hotspot.

You either know that you're going here for the evening [it's tucked away, not too many people know where it is] and let's just say at the door, you're either in or you're out. That's it.

And the venue, crowd, ambiance are all the same way: i summed up my night here as "too cool for school". It's definitely laid back, chill, and not pretentious or elite.

Now, apparently there are two [completely different] sections that make up the glory that is h.wood. When you approach the stairs, to the left you will find the "lounge" and on the right you will find the "upstairs [newly opened] nightclub portion". This review will be for the latter.

Walkthrough: Once past the rope and up the stairs, you'll find yourself on a dimly lit-quasi-patio like area. As you proceed down, you'll find the restrooms to your right. Go a little further and you'll find tables scattered here and there. The [main] bar is on your right. Navigate your way past the bar and to the left and you'll find a small-ish room that serves as the "nightclub" with a few lights, dj booth, and tables adorned around the space. Through the club to the left you'll find more restrooms and a smaller make-shift bar at the end.

As I said before, this place just exudes coolness. Everyone was well-dressed, and what I really liked about this space is that on the "patio" the music is a lot lower so you could actually have a decent conversation (unheard of, right) in a hollywood nightclub/lounge. Let's just say this is not the place were everyone and their mom is taking pictures. On this particular Saturday that I visited, Adrian Grenier had a table and Adam Levine of Maroon 5 showed up as well.

The overall look and vibe is a boho chic kind of feeling going on. The bartenders and table servers "uniforms" are interesting to say the least. This is not your typical club with the dj spinning only hip-hop and top 40; I actually didn't even hear one song like that the entire night, which I also liked [if that's what you're looking for, go to foxtail or myhouse]. Also be cautioned that there is a card min of $20.

Check it our - definitely a cool place to spend your evening.

The reviews seem to be pretty mixed for this place, but I also was here for the special event on Memorial Day weekend and I had a great time!

I've heard soooo much about h.wood, mostly from people talking about how it was on The Hills (which btw, it was shown on the show for like .2 seconds), and how exclusive it is and how all the celebs party here during the week. There was even papparazzi hanging around outside waiting for some famous folks to arrive!

ANyway it's kinda hard to find this spot if you park in the hollywood/highlands structure, but after you find it and get inside, it's a really fantastic place. Very dark and woodsy, with an open roof, lots of bars, and couches and chairs to sit. Bartenders were friendly and attentive, had some great shots and drinks. Everyone looked like they were having fun, the dance floor was packed. I loved it here!

It's been a while since I've been anywhere, so my review may be rigged by the fact that I've had cabin fever and going out by itself is already an adventure that gets at least two stars. Here is why this place deserved another two:

    - Super easy entry, I know a promoter here so it's always good to go in without having to hustle. No big crowds outside, just a bunch of guys suffering the usual guy-bias.

    - Pretty big club, with two dance floors. The upstairs dance floor is where the action is.

    - The music is pretty good (but not great), a nice variety of a bunch of things.

    - The drinks (my favorite and most judged-by part) are quality sized. Grey goose shot was more like a shot and a half and cost 12 bucks. Not too bad.

    - Nicely-sized outside patio where non-smokers like me and my friends  turn into smokers just because it's cool.

    - Two bathrooms (upstairs and downstairs), so the wait is a little less excruciating than usual.

I actually really like this place on Fridays.  Other days are good too depending on what you like, but I've met really interesting characters on Fridays.  Top 3 big reasons I'm giving Hwood 4 stars...

#3 - cool decor, sort of a secret library on the first floor (replaced the books with dressed up socialites) dimly lit lounge and an industrial outdoorsy top floor with a crowded dance floor.  Lots of space when both floors are open, generally decent and varied music during the week, and fun crowd.  On some nights they even have an early open bar!

#2 - docking one star because it's still about who you know and what you're wearing.  I've recommended the spot to other people who haven't been able to get in - just hollywood BS.  Generally go before 10:30 if you don't know someone and it shouldn't be too bad if your ratio is good.

#1-  $2 parking if you just park in the kodak theater, validate at the 3rd level kiosk, and walk over.  $2 parking in Hollywood people!!

As you can see from my f town reviews of all the other booje wannabe celebrity hangout club spots I don't really like places like this.

I don't think this place is THAT bad and the only reason why is the outdoor down stairs area (and i got free drinks =X). There are a lot of little cove type areas to sit and talk with your friends in. The crowd didn't seem as pretentious as I'm used to either. Also, the security weren't assholes, at least to me.

The dance floor was pretty small on the top floor, or what I think is the top floor. The stairs up to it are metal and treacherous! Beware if you are wearing stilettos!

The bathroom situation is horrible. I don't understand why these clubs build two stall bathrooms when they know the venue can fit over a couple thousand people!

I've been here two times and I've had fun both. It can get EXTREMELY crowded though. Like a sweaty slutty sardine can!

This place was not bad.  I definitely agree that it has a more laid-back vibe than some other clubs in the area, but this is definitely still a Hollywood Club.  And by that I mean it was full to the brim of eager young women, speckled with wannabes, and bordered by tables with bottle service.

But the three stars have been rewarded for an awesome DJ and interesting layout.  A word to the wise - don't order a glass of house wine thinking that you'll save any money, because it's gonna run you $12 - same as a more intricate mixed drink.

EDIT: Can't believe I forgot to mention this - I saw Lance Bass AND Jesse McCartney while I was here!  Now I can die happily?

Power trippin' little Asian girls and boys on their high horses really need to learn how to read a guest list.

The club IS nice and I am more than happy to add an additional star for that, bartenders were EXCELLENT -- but the WORST part was the first impression, which I will never forget. Everything in H. Wood is standard of Hollywood, which makes NO SENSE why promoters and door people could feel so powerful and arrogant. Here's the scoop:

I got in SUPER late due to a group of three cold-shouldered Asian girls who looked like they were in my high school's yearbook staff. The girls, who were supposed to be coordinators for the evening's events, told me to "wait in the corner" and that "[they'll] clear everything up" with the guest list and that they would "get [me] once everything was clear."

From a distance, I saw them standing still, trying to look busy, chatting on their phones, and looking into the parking lot for their friends. When their friends neared the velvet rope, the door girls whispered into their friends' ears how to get in...

That's right, they WHISPERED as to deny unwanted guests. I was obviously getting brushed off, which I thought was very rude.

Even still, my friend and I waited for almost an hour at the corner of the building as directed, and to no such avail, I called my connections from inside to get me in -- which worked, thankfully.

I REALLY CAN'T BELIEVE WHAT KIND OF IDEA OF "PROFESSIONALISM" AND EXCLUSIVITY THEY HAVE AT THIS CLUB. If you see 3 Asian girls at the front (one with braces, of course), steer clear. They only let in their other yearbook friends and they shark out the crowd looking to sell bottle service for commission. The club IS nice, drinks were strong, but it's not worth putting up with those door people. If you're looking for exclusivity, go to My House or Hyde where the door people will not waste your time pretending to be nice. I think that's what made me so disappointed at H. Wood: passive-aggressive authority.

Out of all the clubs I've ever been to, H.Wood has the WORST door people for a night club which, unfortunately, ALMOST ruined the night. The bartender, though, made excellent margaritas.

H.Wood, you've got great potential, but you've made a horrible business decision hiring these girls.

    ------EDIT---------

Though I'm sure their intentions were some derivatives of goodness and sound judgment, it just felt like there was a large void of communication which turned out to be disastrous. Although I can soundly attack their professionalism, I can't really speak for their effort. Good try, though?

    You sir, rock as does H.Wood & their insanely cool staffers/bartenders (yep, talk'n ab/u Mr.B! ;)...

Hopped over here after a hilarious burlesque variety show @Hamburger Mary's. Both way more awesome & preferred than $20 Highlands/The Loft which also shares the same Kodak Theatre complex. At least H.Wood shaved a few more bux off w/stamped parking validation: $2 Otherwise a painful $10 if you forget. Valet optional.

DO NOT GO TO HWOOD!! One of the most stupid places ever in Hollywood. We went on a saturday night for my friends birthday. The bouncers were RUDE and were on a power trip. You would think its a crowded place...but it was DEAD...and the people there were wierd. Not your typical hollywood club/lounge scene. The bartenders were stupid and rude. Looks like they dont really need you to have much personality to hire you there. I have no idea how this place is in business, but im sure its not going to be long before they shut down.
Oh and their drinks SUCK!! Overpriced and watered down

Came on a Saturday night. It was a one night event with some promoting company who managed to call out the azns of every neighborhood. Came about 20 minutes after the guestlist closed, but got our girls in via susceptible male promoters.  Our boys had to wait in line and pay $20/head. Typical promoting bs. So leave early bc traffic on Hollywood Blvd is killer. It pays to be on time, guys!

The place itself is two stories, the upper level being much more spacious -- at least early in the night. When you walk in, there's an open patio area of tables.  Inside is a tiny dance floor and bar with DJ spinning basic top 40s. Birthday girl luckily got a huge area for their table. Was nice being able to sit away from the crowds to rest my high heel adorned feet. My friends were at the bar for a LONG time and the cash registers weren't working so the bartender hooked them up - drinks on the house. Not too shabby, right?

Anyway we finally made it upstairs when they opened it up.  We bypassed some band performing rock music (random!)..and then kept walking deeper into a separate room with a bar and another DJ spinning hip hop. Friend said the drinks at this bar were cheaper than downstairs. Upstairs also has an open air area so people were smoking. Didn't ventilate well though so you were surrounded my clouds of smoke. Not so great for the lungs so we eventually made our way back downstairs.

Gist of the night: super packed, big prices and long waits at the bar...but when you're surrounded by your friends and family, anytime is a good time.  Especially when my buddy DIana P. is tossed beyond repair LOL The decor is not bad. Classy old looking furniture from what I remember. Park in the Kodak Theater lot if you don't mind a small walk. It's $10 to park there versus the $20 H.wood valet service. Don't think I'll be returning any time soon but if you're heading out there, make sure to pre-game and come early with fun people.

I had to write a review just because this place is so retarded.

I came here when it just opened and i didn't have a problem getting in, we were on a list. But... what i hate about places like this, is that its so lame. Its like High school! Its sad to see other people enjoying some thing like this and writing good reviews. All the people here are fakes. and stare!!! Its not a legit crowd. ugghhh so annoying.

To sum it up, it totally reminds me of 'JERSEY SHORE! GUIDO SHIT'. LAME. PERIOD.

Perhaps it was the party I went to, but this place really did nothing for me.

It was a pain to find via the address- as Orange splits right near there and the sign for the bar isn't very visible.

As I was there for a private party, I had no problems with a line situation.

The bartenders seemed nice, but not genuine.  Gorgeous girls that you would expect in Hollywood.

People talk about the freaks out there?  There weren't enough of them... or at least guys that could come up with semi decent lines.  There were tons of dudes and not enough girls.

The set up was a bit less to be desired.  Plenty of ample seating but arranged in a way that it was a bit annoying as it seemed maze like when you were trying to walk around.

Parking was only valet at the club itself.  Save yourself some money and go right next door to the Hollywood & Highland parking structure.  There is another structure about a block down on the other side of Orange across from the Roosevelt otherwise.  But if you want to park there, I'd recommend skipping this place and just going to there... its a far better club anyway.

I highly doubt I'll be going back there anytime soon.

i'm heading towards my late twenties and I have this slight feeling maybe I'll never get married, i'm okay with it I own it.  I'm pretty fly and my people age well so it's not like i'll be some ugly old single lady so i'm down. However, this place makes me want to get married, and move back to the midwest.

The outside spaces are FREEZING, if half the club is outside let's spring for some fake heat, not those ghetto lamps but the big long things that blow the air around.  it's sorta pretty in there.  I got into the club in less than 5 minutes outside, granted I like to meet friends up alone and just sorta weasel around door people and walk in behind people when the rope opens.

3-4 stars, not sure yet. Came here for a friends b-day. Found a guy who could hook me up to this place and it worked out perfectly. We went straight to the head of the line and us girls got in fine and for free. Guys had to pay $20 to get in. All the guys couldnt get in unless they had girls or had to wait. Felt bad because all the guys ended up going somewhere else. Also valet is $20.

The guy at the fron wasn't the nicest, he didn't even had the decency to look at me, I felt that it was kind of rude. Nevertheless, we got in.

The place is not like any major club, such as Blvd. 3. This place is like being in a a large house. You walk in and there are chairs and couches to the right and bar to the left. The girl was really nice. The drinks werent bad at all. I got three drinks for about $30, not bad for the hollywood scene.

Went on a Saturday night, still packed though there best nights are supposedly Fridays. They have two floors, upstairs is more of a lounge vibe, kind of dead. We stayed downstairs most of the time. The so-called dance floor wasn't very big. It was jammed with people.

I guess I expected more of a dance type place since i had all this energy. But now I know.

The people are nice. Some very nice people. LOL.... some girl, it was her bday, she was pretty drunk. She was saying "you are so pretty and don't take that the wrong way, im not a lesbian!" haha. Thought that was pretty hilarious. She was super nice, so funny.

One guy spilled his entire drink in my shoe. I was like really? And his friend was saying how sorry he was for his drunk friend, I was like maybe he should stop drinking. He's like hes a good looking guy and thinks you are too. And I'm like great, he is good looking but he still obivously can't hold his alcohol. :) Mean? Well I don't like full drinks dumped into my shoe.

So overall, we had a good night, many drunk and not so drunk memories! :)

This place was so awkward and gross.

I went on a Tuesday night because Josh Powell from the Lakers was hosting a party here.

They were filming a reality TV show here about promoters I believe- which I haven't seen hit MTV yet.  So there were cameras and bright lights.  How typical Hollywood.

    There was two different bars.

The dance area was so RANK and smelly.

They sold swishers in the bathroom! How subtle!

The only good thing was that Josh Powell did show up and I got to meet him.  One step closer to Kobe!

It was probably the night I went on but still.

Oh and they made us wait of course for a super long time to get in even though there were hardly any people inside! LAME!

This place wavers between the 3-4 star mark, but overall is worth a check out, even if just for the scene.

    The H.wood S.ummary....

    - The club is large - like an old mansion/estate that got converted into a club.
Front entrance has an outdoor patio with tables and cigar area decorated like your grandfather's old school library.
Upstairs there's a dance floor, a bar, another side area with another bar, and an empty hallway.  It was one room after the other.

    - The DJ was playing and people were dancing.  Great variety of music with an energetic vibe.

    - Everyone at the club seemed to be having a really, r-e-a-l-l-y (mind altering substance) good time.  Even though drinks are $14 bucks a pop, people were plastered, but not in a sloppy way.

Typical upscale Hollywood scene with girls in glittery dresses, bottle service, men in collared shirts (bueno), and everyone looks like they're on something.

There are only 2 options to get in quickly: know a promoter before you go or just have lots of cute girls. We got in quickly (thank you Club Gods)

The people there are very random.  One guy insisted that we make him breakfast, another informed us how he wanted to ship us across country in bubble wrap.  Plus we got hit on by these cute, brunette twins who asked for our numbers and wanted to take pictures with us.

In comparison to the other Hollywood counterparts, H.wood's not too shabby.

Being near the infamous tourist trap intersection of Hollywood and Highland I was expecting some rookie party crowd, but H. Wood delivered for what it was .. a lounge.

The line situation was a bit of a mess (fortunately, we were with people who knew one of the guys who worked the door (eff knowing promoters..they can't always pull their weight, it's always best to know STAFF of the establishment).

Crowd is way chill with some trendy/electro type of style.  If you've been to Dim Mak parties, then this what you'd expect.

Always bonus points when Electro/House music  is being played downstairs .  It reminded me a bit like Spider Club (now called Bardot).  Drinks are on average as everywhere else where topshelf on the rocks drinks run about $1-2 more than other spots.  I opted for my good ol' Tokyo Tea. It never fails, and I can say the pours were strong (thank goodness!)

Gotta love the open air patio so you can get your smoke on too!

Ok... how do I start describing this place....
    1. There was a good 20 minute line
    2. We had to pay the bouncer 10 for the girls and 20 for the guys just to get in the door. This is the BOUNCER.
    3. Drinks were minimum $14.
    4. You don't dance at places this this, you bop your head and get shoved around.
    5. The best pick up lines guys used for me were - I like your glasses. (TWO DIFFERENT guys told me that... uhhh... very creative... NOT.)
    6. Girls wore tops as dresses.
    7. It smelled like BO on the dance floor
    8. Smoking all over the place
    9. The stairs are dark and actually a little scary
    10. Every guy in there was a douchebag.

The only other saving grace was that Jason Derulo performed his only 2 songs.

    I would NEVER go back.
