Domingos is a long standing establishment in Tehachapi and for good reason. The food is consistently delicious (although not exceptional- if you're looking for Rick Bayless quality Mexican food, you're going to have to go to Los Angeles). The service is solid- we've come to know the staff over the years and although they have some typical turnover, you'll notice familiar faces year to year (and they'll recognize you too!). Drinks are reasonable and they make a decent margarita. There's tons of seating and it's a good restaurant for groups. It's one of our most reliable favorites in the Tehachapi area.
I love their arroz con pollo and their burritos are pretty killer, but let me tell you, I'd consider giving a toe for their albondigas recipe. -

Begin:
Domingo's has been around for a while, and while I have always liked what I've eaten here, I have always gotten the canned bean feeling here. Now mind you, I happily scarf down any giant burrito thrown at me and as long as it isn't spoiled, I'll not utter a word of complaint (unless I'm being a total bitch) so nothing here has been cringe worthy.. or even frown worthy, I just feel if I had to nitpick some things seem not so made from scratch, and sort of bland sometimes.
But I don't think this is a trait exclusive to Domingo's especially in Tehachapi, this place is kind of like a Mexican Chili's and everything is good.
I like the atmosphere, from the restaurant side to the bar, the booze was mixed well, staff is attentive and very nice. This place is pretty active especially when I've been there, This place like Don perico's is best suited for bringing the family unit, you can pay for everyones meal with your wallet relatively unscathed.
All in all, I have enjoyed every meal I had, and it's a solid choice for a relaxed family evening, or for boozing with burritos. Even though it isn't high on my list, I will dine here from time to time with no worries of inconsistent quality.

This is a really good place. The salsa is pretty good. I had the Carnitas Burritos and it was super delicious. A friend had the Chicken Fajitas and he really enjoyed it. It came out on a sizzling skillet like hey look what I ordered.
Had some kind of shrimp/octopus/avocado/salsa thing as per a suggestion from a friend and it was really good. The only reason I didn't give it five stars is they don't de-vein the shrimp but still had to eat it to try it out. -

Ah yes Domingo's. I've pointed out other establishments in Tehachapi, but I've been assured that Domingo's is the only REAL restaurant in town. I've eaten there three or four times and I haven't hated anything to date. The service is reasonably good, and drink refills come at an acceptable pace.
I typically enjoy Domingo's steak fajitas. They serve homemade tortillas, and their salads are always fresh. I've had the Carne Al Pastor a couple of times. Both times the meat was tough and slightly less seasoned than what I'm accustomed to eating in the Los Angeles area. I've never been to Domingo's for lunch, but I've been told that they serve an outstanding lunch buffet.
If you're already in Tehachapi, and not confined to the prison, you could do a lot worse than Domingo's. -

We enjoyed this. The wait staff is completely Mexican and it came recommended by our cousins.
The meat in the tacos I had was good but, if I may be blunt, went right through me. *urp*
I would go back, but don't really want to think about it anymore. -

Have gone here a few times for happy hour, they make strong margaritas and have a hot free buffet. The place gets super packed, it's a favorite spot for the locals. I got dinner there once and it was alright, nothing to fancy but cheap and filling.

Domingo's is usually our restaurant of choice. It's really the only Mexican restaurant in Tehachapi that I know of.
With that said, the food is actually really good. It's full of flavor and I haven't had a problem with them yet. The wait staff is really good at making sure your chips & salsa and your drinks are full at all times. It's a popular place for Happy Hour too. -

Chili Colorado was weak! Not as good as the original Domingo's in Boron, CA.

We live locally and go here a couple of times a month. We always get great service here and the place is clean and well managed. The food is okay, nothing spectacular, but good solid Mexican food. Prices are reasonable about $8-10 for a combo plate with 1-3 selections (enchilada, taco, burrito, flauta, taquito, etc) and rice, beans and salad or albondigas soup. I thought the drink prices were a little high, but I'm a cheapo when it comes to drinks, so maybe that's just the price they are in 2010! lol. We loved when they had the daily lunch buffet and I've heard that they added it back a couple of days a week, but haven't been back to lunch since then. Salsa is good. The mushroom chicken is amazing :) enjoy.

OK, Will's my brother in law, so I can't dismiss his opinion cavalierly. On the other hand, it's quite appropriate to point out that Domingo's is only 4-star in comparison to the other eateries available in Tehachapi, CA. That's to say, it blows much less than Kelcy's or the Apple Shed or the restaurant attached to the Best Western. It's not as good as the Burger King.

Domingo's is the restaurant my family goes to most often. The food is always great and the margaritas...mmm. Definitely one of Tehachapi's best in my book.
