Review from Mo Y.
Kirkland, WA
I have tried this place many times after a bad experience I had with them two years ago. I am not sure if they changed owners or if the owners took care of business. The service and food are the best. I tried both the Gyro and the lamb Kabob Sandwiches and they are the best, so much meat..............and it is so tasty. The prices are good too.
The place is little small but you can always find a place to sit. Most people have their orders to go and the place is busy which insures that you are getting fresh food, the staff are just the best.
There are Four Gyro places within a walking distance from my office but I choose to drive to Redmond to pick up the gyro sandwiches and bring them back to the office instead of just walking to get an average gyro. I will go anywhere for good food so driving Ten miles is notthing........
I hope that they never change the great quality of food and service in this place, it is the best.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from An T.
Still a fan made it in just before the lunch rush. (11:45) Quick service got the #1 no onions with lettuce and a chicken samosa. Wanted to give it a try. It looked good in the display case. The flavor was ok but the texture was not what I was expecting. I was hoping for a nice crisp outer shell and moist flavorful insides but it was a soft and a bit mushy on the outside. Kind of like when you microwave something that was previously deep fried. (yeah you know what i am talking about)
But I came for the gyro and it was great still bursting with meat so much that I need to eat with a fork and knife. Still very tasty and fulfilling.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Steve H.
Maple Valley, WA
Everything was pretty much on point with the exception of the pita. It was hard and chewy - not as light and fluffy as I would have liked. Other than that - everything was solid. Good meat, veggies and sauce. Very good value in large portions at reasonable prices.
I will be back - let's just hope they can sort out the pita issue. -

Chicken gyro sandwich was messy but very good. I discovered this place accidentally, on my way to the nearby Teriayki joint.

Chicago, IL
I'm convinced their meat is bought frozen from somewhere... prime dinner time and the spits aren't on. Don't even bother with the chicken gyros... lamb and beef are better but average. Saved by tzaziki sauce. Rice was tasteless and terrible. Platter is a bit pricey for what you get IMO. Likely that the sandwich is better value.
As of now, Chicago has better gyros and I'm not talking about the places that serve Kronos gyros. The search continues... -

4.5star for food and 5star for customer service. The food hits the spot when you're craving a gyro. Plus they are the friendliest bunch of people!

Review from Brian W.
Seattle, WA
Sadly, I think I'm going to have to downgrade these guys. Don't get me wrong, it's still a decent gyro, but no longer in the 5-star territory.
When I first started coming in here in 2008, things were a little different. I'm not sure what has happened, but I'm just not as wild about the meat anymore. Maybe they switched vendors, but what I really suspect is that much more often they slice a whole bunch of meat off the spit at once and keep it in a container. Then they briefly warm it on the grill before putting it in your sandwich. The problem with this is that you don't get that nice char from the outside that tastes so good. It used to be a nice characteristic of their meat.
Also, the last time I went in my greek fries were soggy and they forgot to include the tzatziki sauce I paid for. Not a big deal, but it doesn't help their cause any. Also I'm not fond of the hot sauce they use now. It's not the same as the old stuff.
Still a decent and cheap place to grab a bite, but I no longer go out of my way for it.1 Previous Review: Show all »

Review from Sarah B.
Seattle, WA
I stopped in with my family for lunch because we were in the area and it was an instant favorite for all of us. We live in Seattle but will definitely be crossing the bridge on a regular basis for the best chocolate baklava and gyros around!
A few things I liked about Gyros 2 Go:
The people who work there are really nice and friendly. Seriously probably the nicest people I have ever encountered in a restaurant. They even offered to throw in free drinks for the kids and brought us out some complimentary dessert (did I mention the chocolate baklava?)
I was impressed by their kids meals. It seems like most places that serve ethnic foods jump straight to the cheeseburgers and chicken nuggets for the kids, but the kids plate here had portions of the beef and lamb they use in the gyros, rice, pita bread, french fries, and tzatziki sauce for dipping. I loved that my kids had the opportunity to try new foods in a kid-friendly, deconstructed style (with fries to fall back on in case they didn't like it). Turns out they loved it though, which really surprised me because two of my kids tend to be pretty picky.
The food was really delicious. The meat was perfectly cooked and seasoned, the portions were huge (I had to eat some of my gyro filling with a fork before I could fold it to pick up, and I ended up taking half of it home). I also took home another to go order of chocolate baklava, because it was just that good. -

Tucked away in Redmond, this is a pretty good place to get gyros. I usually write a review after a couple of trips to see if the consistency and so far it has been up and down. If I rated this place after my first trip a few months ago, it would have been a 5-star rating, today it was a 2-star so I evened it out to a 3-star rating.
The beef & lamb gyro is pretty good, but I prefer the thin slices like at Santorini rather than the huge chucks, just a texture thing. The vegetables they use seem to be very fresh. They do give you huge portions on everything, I usually eat two gyros at Santorini, here I can only eat one. I also tried the lamb kabob which has a different hummus sauce and some cumin, not as tasty compared to the regular gyro and it was also really sloppy to eat (can't eat it by hand).
+ Decent beef & lamb gyro and huge portions
+ They have a lot of other side dishes
- Not consistent, sometimes the food is great, sometimes it is sloppy and not so tasty
Tip:
Order by the number, their is sometimes a language barrier. -
Review from Alfredo A.

The gyros are delicious. The downsides to this restaurant are that the restaurant is so small, and it's a little more expensive than other gyros restaurant. This doesn't take away the taste of the gyros though, or the great customer service.

Redmond, WA
When this establishment first opened I stopped in to see if they had white/breast chicken shish kabob which my wife desires over the meat on the spit. They didn't at that time so I continued to go to Pasha Grill at Redmond Town Center for my quick and local gyros and shish kabob.
Recently I thought I'd give it another try, and am glad I did. I think they got the message that people want real chicken breast, and now they had it. The food was not only decent it was plentiful--huge portions to where there was enough left over for lunch the next day. Only minor complaint is that the lamb shish kabob sometimes is a bit gristly and overcooked, but the chicken breast shish kabob gyro is awesome, and I'm eager to try a falafel sometime in the near future. -

Ever since I found this place, I don't go anywhere else for Greek food. Seriously. The guys who run the place are the friendliest, happiest dudes I've ever met, their food is spectacular, and the prices are good. I ate at a sit-down Greek place about a month ago and I felt like I was cheating. They usually give out free dessert with large orders, just because they're nice fellas. One of my favorite spots to get food in Redmond!

We just had a spectacular quick lunch here. Gyro sandwiches, plates, & salads- we had the salads. My boyfriend just moved from massachusetts and love gyros. This is the best we've ever had. Its a small little place mostly take out but do havr about 12 seats to sit comfortably, which we did. It was clean and the man who took care of us, Salah, was fabulous, attentive, fun, and gracious. the stuufed grape leaves AND the choc. Baklava was undescribably delicious. Yummmm

Redmond, WA
Best gyros in Redmond for a really great price. Plus the guys who operate the spot are sincerely nice dudes and always greet me with a smile like they appreciate my business... Did I mention the portions are huge for the $. Only downside, you'll smell like gyro meat for two days after munchin', as the delicious spices will most definitely be racing out of your stomach through your pores and sweat glands at an exponential rate. However, that will just remind you how delicious it was and leave you with the knowledge that, should you live in Redmond, the only place to get a gyro is Gyros2Go. Also, barring you don't have a date or, rather, you just don't care because you don't need to impress your significant other any longer, you will want to stuff your face with another meat packed gyro once you stop smelling like a cabby.

In order of importance (to me):
The food is EXCELLENT.
The people are COURTEOUS.
The service is LIGHTNING FAST.
These folks move at the speed of sound to give you awesome gyros, falafel, etc., but there is always a "thank you" or "how is it, is it good?" or "we hope to see you soon" sprinkled in the fast-paced exchange you have with them as you order, pick up, and eat your DELECTABLE gyros. The Baklava is lovely, too.
Very limited seating. I'm not going to mark them down for that - they are what they are, which is the very best and fastest fast food you'll find on the east side. -
Review from Melissa F.

I'm tempted to give another star just for customer service. Management and the workers were suuuper nice. I'd never been in, so he gave me extra dolmades. Hee hee. :) ... Too bad they didn't taste very good. :(
The beef and lamb gyro itself was decent. Not bad, honestly. It comes with a lot of pretty tasty meat. The Greek fries were just previously frozen potato strips with italian(?) seasoning and a LOT of feta cheese. Dull. Dolmades were also dull.
This is a place I would stop by for a quick gyro if I were in the area. It's not some place to go out of your way for. I hereby deem this my Redmond-go-to-place. :) -
Review from Brittany L.

First I'd like to say to the people who complain about the seating options at Gyros 2 Go: Let's not forget that the business name says it all "GYROS 2 GO". Come on, people.
Okay, moving on, this place is pretty darn awesome. Suleiman, who I think is the owner, has packed together quite a few large orders for our office meetings in the past and is prompt, professional and courteous each time. He'll even write each individual's name on their take-out box (it's the little things that count, right?) and on occasions where I've picked up large orders, I've had help carrying the bags of food to my car. Nice touch, guys! The gyros aren't quite the standard I'm used to from my favorite place, but they get the job done.
If you're lucky, he'll throw in some baklavas, which are very addictive!
Needless to say, every experience I've had at Gyros 2 Go has been pleasant. In the Redmond area, you can't get much better! -
Review from Angela H.
So good, so good... busy busy busy. This is one of the tastiest falafel sandwiches I've ever had, and to be honest, it's definitely the biggest.
Most certainly a spot I'd hit up again. A real family-owned, recipes from mom, kind of place. If you live nearby, go. If you're visiting or in the area, go. If I could get there again soon, I'd go. Mmmm. -

I would have given these guys 5 stars, if they had better place to sit.
Food they have is something I crave about every week, chicken gyros, greek salad, sambookas (samosas actually)
Everyone living on eastside have to try all of items they offer .. -
Review from Jackie M.
So, we get in there today and it's pretty packed. There are people eating, people waiting and people sitting at the tables waiting for food. Probably 10 people total in there...and there's 1 guy trying to do all the cooking, order taking and processing everyone's payment. It was so...CHAOTIC! He kept apologizing to everyone while rushing around trying to get everything done....seriously, dude, either hire an employee to take orders & money while you cook and prepare the food, or you take orders and money & hire a cook. It does not work with 1 person doing everything...
Now on to the food: The gyro was VERY salty. The rice lacked flavor. The sauce was good.
I'm sticking with my favorite, Pasha Grill :-D -
Review from B. J.
AMBIENCE - C- (I wouldn't have a first date here...!)
SERVICE - B- (mmm... english was not the first language here from my service...maybe the owner wasn't around... so, hard to figure out how to get anything or ask questions - just order off the big menu board)
FOOD - B+ - (flavors were really on spot - like the garlicky tzatziki - and the greek desserts looked delish - will try next time)
PRICE - A - (5.95 for a gyro - I used my entertainment book coupon and got BOGO!)
Strip mall. Not best ambience. But somewhat clean. Sambal Sauce delish. Tzatiki sauce garlicky perfect. Lots of filling - so filled with meats and stuffing that you can't fold the pita - but that's okay by me!) Falafal nicely seasoned and fried fresh. -

Had a wonderful experience for my first time here tonight- I think the man working behind the counter must have been the owner- he let me sample so many things that I was almost full by the time I finally decided on what to order! The portions are HUGE, and the flavors are amazing. Best Tzatziki sauce I have had in a while....such a pleasant surprise! Also, it's cool because Malt & Vine Is right next door, and they do not serve food, but encouraged us to bring our gyros on over there for a drink. We will definitely be going back!

Review from Raymond B.
Kirkland, WA
The owner/manager is always cordial. The service is fast and the food is decent. I have been a customer for almost ten years and still return about once every few months.
The menu is sparse but it is also what I expect from a quickie Gyro shop. The food is tasty and I usually order a lamb and beef gyro with Greek fries. Once in a while I order a lamb and beef gyro with salad and rice. Both of these I recommend. Admittedly, my sampling of the menu is somewhat limited. However that is because I don't see a reason to try anything else when I like the gyros so much. I have also eaten a few of the desserts (baklava) and all were good.
The seating/dining area is very limited and if you arrive on a cool or breezy day you might have to sit by the door where customers are frequently coming and going. This might expose some people to cold conditions in the winter or spring. In addition to the limited seating it is also a tight squeeze area. Someone may be required to sit back to back with their chairs and a few people might find that annoying.
Overall if you can accept the atmosphere for dining in you might like this place. Otherwise you could also take your food to go.
I give four stars because the place is always consistent with fast and cordial service, the food is always of similar quality and I have come to accept the dining area and the spacial limitations it has. -

In and out. Or at least in and then they'll deliver. Fast and easy, this is a grab and go gyro place. And a good one at that. The meat is fresh and moist and the gyros are yummy.
I don't know if they offer anything to drink, because right next door, you have a world of beer choices at the Malt and Vine. And if you go next door, Gyros 2 Go will deliver your food. What a great lunch - beer and gyros.
Disclaimer: I don't know if their delivery area exceeds the limits of the strip mall. -
Review from Jake R.
I popped my gyro cherry here with two lovely ladies! Gyro à trois!? :P
I was getting some fashion advice from two well dressed ladies (Sarah and Steph) when they mentioned they were going to get gyros and invited me to come along. I really wasn't feeling like cooking and I'm always up for trying new things so off to Gyros 2 go we headed. We had to make a quick stop at VV first and deal with some VV douchebag mofia... but that's another story entirely!
It was my first time so I was a little unsure of myself, so many choices and it all looked good. I decided on the Lamb and Beef Gyro and I'm glad I did. The gyro came packed and I mean PACKED with beef and lamb meat, there were also some onions, tomatoes (I passed on those) and tzatziki sauce on peta bread. It was a damn good sandwich and pretty impressive in size for $6. Sarah had some sort of kids meal and Steph had a salad, not sure which one, I was too busy stuffing my big mouth, we all shared some dolmas too.
Then came dessert. We decided to each get something different so we could share. I got the chocolate baklava (which turned out to be my favorite of the 3), Sarah got the regular baklava and Steph had the Kataife...er I think. We all shared like nice kids and it was a great way to end the night.
The food is good and seems pretty authentic, though I really wouldn't know and the costumer service is great, the guys working their are so nice! The place is a little small and not the cleanest place, but they do have a bidet, lol! -
Review from Mr T.
Kirkland, WA
These guy's claim to have the Chicago style Gyro, and as a native Chicagoan I have to say they are spot on. A+ First of all it is real Kronos Gyro meat from a spit, cut off in front of you and grilled twice. So much meat it will make your head explode. And all of this for about 5 bucks to boot. You can't beat it. Take a lesson Seattle, this is how it is done in a real city.
Yes, the place is small, dirty and simple inside. And if your whiny uptight Seattle butt can't deal with it go home, your not ready. -

Let's keep this review short: The first time I had a gyro was at Gyros 2 Go! The portions are very generous and the gyros are delicious! Service is fast ("2 Go") and the owner is really friendly. I especially like the lamb and beef gyro and the chicken gyro. I also like the samosas. Yum! That is all.

This place is the BEST!! The gyros are to die for! We often call our lunch orders in and pick them up. The gyros are always hot, fresh and garlicky delicious. We literally spend our lunch hour licking our fingers. I wish they sold vats of their tzatziki sauce - we would probably bathe in it.
Service is quick and always friendly. The guys that run the joint always remember us and often throw in some tasty baklava. The only downsides - The restaurant is extremely small so it's best to just grab a gyro and go (hence the 2 Go part of the name!) and the horrific parking. And I do mean HORRIFIC. We often work as a team - one person drives around the parking lot while the other one jumps out to grab the order.
It's totally worth it though - these gyros are AMAZING!!!!! -
Review from Krista M.
Gyros 2 Go, sadly, you are not my gyro.
If this were the only gyro I had ever tried I probably would have thought it was pretty good. But I've had better.
I agree with the Yelper that said "it was impossible to eat." The second I touched my lamb and beef gyro it was in a pile on the plate and I was holding a mangled pita. And I promise you, I have a pretty delicate touch. I could have just looked at that pita funny and it would have starting throwing it's ingredients out. I needed eating utensils. You shouldn't need a fork to eat a gyro. The taste of what I was able to scoop into my mouth was OK, but just OK. Not worth the fuss.
On the other hand, the chicken gyro my husband ordered was not good at all.
I think I would rather drive a few extra minutes into Kirkland where they have the best gyros on earth. Probably won't be back here anytime soon.Listed in: Gyros!

Review from Yong L.
This place gets 5 stars, not because it has the best food, but because it has the best food for the price. For under $6.00, you can get a delicious lamb-and-beef gyros sandwich stuffed with so much scrumptious meat that it's heavy in your hands. And they don't mess around with lettuce or feta cheese -- it's meat, tomatoes, onions and tzatziki sauce -- a classic combination of flavors and just how I remember the small Greek joints serving it back in Chicago.
I've tried a couple of other things on the menu (avoid the chicken gyros), but keep coming back to the lamb-and-beef gyros.
--Edit (3/2/07)--
Since this last review, I've come back a couple of more times, and have found that their pita bread has become more doughy/flour-y, and distracts from the taste of their delicious meat and sauce. So I've knocked off a star (from 5 to 4).
It's still pretty darn good, though. And the staff are pretty nice guys and appreciate one's patronage. So I'll keep coming. If they fix the pita problem, perhaps I'll give them the star back. -

This is a great Gyro shop. The name says it all, "Gyro 2 GO" don't hang out here, the foot traffic would annoy the hell out of me if I ate in here. But, they do have a couple tables. The meat is straight off the huge spinning lamb meat slab thing, I dunno what they call it.
My Gyro was Huge! and that garlic cucumber yogurt sauce "tatziki" is the best.
These guys are authentic too. No white high school kids serving up Gyros thank god. No offense, but authentic means authentic, sorry.
My Gyro was not over $6.00 either. I'll definitely be back. Oh ya, the Baklava is bomb also.
The best in town, and it's almost in downtown Redmond too. I drive here from Bellevue for lunch even.
I'll have to try that Santorini place Kirkland, but I'm still giving 5 stars because these Gyros rock and the service is fast and friendly and super cheap price.

Nate M. is right -- the gyros are not the same any more :( that makes me really sad because I actually preferred Gyros 2 Go over Aladdin (in U-District)
I had the meat straight off the grill the previous 3 times, and I recall them being flavorful and just browned to perfection. I enjoyed the perfect taste blend of hot meat over the cold sauce and veggies, but this time, the meat was lukewarm, over-salted, and soggy. They still give you TONS of meat, but the taste is different now.
We went between 5:30-6pm, which isn't a random time of the day where you might get mediocre food from places just due to the lower traffic.

They are starting to slip. The last 3 times I've been in have only been mediocre.
They invested in a new piece of equipment that makes their lives easier but takes some of the goodness out of their gyros. That device my friends, is a steam warming tray *cue horror music*.
That's right, gone are the days of getting meat fresh from the Autodoner and put on the grill to be given that extra crispiness. Now the meat comes soggy from the warmer gets a quick pass on the grill and then put into your gyro.
The only juice that used to drip from my gyro at this place was extra tzatziki sauce, but now it runs with all the added moisture of that life sucking warmer.
It's still decent, but no longer the best.1 Previous Review: Show all »

I would like to bathe in their special Mediterranean white sauce and lick it off of my body while it moisturize. I had a lamb gyro and it was the bomb-diggity. The meats were shaved right off of the fresh hunkin' huge hot meat logs behind the counter.
(and it did not make me sick like it made Hoodia J.)
