I see Julana Hansmeier and I would recommend her to anyone. She is an ARNP so she is not one of the fertility doctors, but I go to her for everything. She is honest and thorough so if you want one of those doctors who sugar coats everything, don't go to her. I get the most comprehensive care from her and never worry about calling because she ALWAYS calls you right away with results or information.
I definitely recommend her and the GYFT clinic staff are awesome as well.
Use SRM instead! I was a referral patient from another doctor for the IUI procedure, so I do not receive care under one of the doctors there. My experience was unpleasant on many levels. The worst of which was being called a "habitual aborter" by the nurse making small talk with me before the procedure. This response was a result of her asking me if I had children and my reply that no, I'd lost the first three. That's how the appt. began, and it went downhill from there. I wrote a constructive email to the office manager that day regarding the entire experience and have yet to receive an apology for the hurtful words of the nurse - only that they hope each experience is a positive one.
Besides the lack of sensitivity and compassion there was just a general lack of professionalism. They put me in an unstocked room that they told me they usually only use for blood draws. They told me the catheters they had to use were more expensive. The first nurse couldn't do the procedure and the second nurse didn't instill confidence that she was actually successful. Apparently, they close for lunch, because I left I had to left myself out of the locked door.
I had two IUI's previously at the SRM Tacoma clinic and the experiences couldn't have been more different. Unfortunately, SRM Tacoma does not freeze sperm, so rather than commute to the Seattle SRM office, I took a risk using Gyft to stay local. This was a mistake. I will be transferring our samples to SRM Seattle immediately! If you are looking for personal care, I would NOT recommend Gyft - but maybe they just treat their referral patients differently. (By referral patient, I mean that I receive care provided by a Madigan - a military hospital - fertility specialist. They don't do the actual IUI/sperm washing procedures, so they farm us out to area clinics. This causes a huge lack of communication and lapse in care - frustrating enough, only to be compounded by rude and thoughtless comments.
