Thoroughbred Horse Racing.  Casinos, Poker, Bars
Yummy Spots to grab a bite and the Delicious Christine Lees.
Look at their website for Evening Concerts, and live music/other fun events.
They are also constructing another shopping area and condos.
Great place for a group outing or date.

Last weekend  hubby and I came here because we wanted to eat at Ten Palms. It was around two o'clock in the afternoon, and they were not open yet. So we strolled into the casino, only gambled for about an hour. Yes, you loose it quickly. Never being a big gambler, worked in the casino's in Reno, NV and saw how much money people would loose. Not me, I would rather spend it on eating!!! lol

Really like what they are doing buidling a strip center for shops and restaurants. Very nice, looking forward to see what goes in.
The casino is filled with a much older clientele and tight machines.
I was hoping to catch a show with the horses by the fountain with the dancing water but did not get lucky.
If you have never seen it, it is great. The horses are excellent performers.

I have never bet on horses, but it looks like it could be fun. They really need to get some more dining soon. We left because there was no place to eat.

The casino is not as elegant as the Hardrock and the not as large as the Miccosukee but it's located right in the middle of the city only minutes from Aventura Mall. Like any other Casino in South Florida, they bring buses of South Florida retirees and they line up to cash in their free coupons.

There are currently two large restaurants that overlook the Gulfstream Park Track where you can eat and wager on thoroughbred racing. There is Christine Lees and Ten Palms. There is living racing January to April, check their website for exact dates and times.

In February 2009, The Village at Gulfstream Park has plans to open a 466,000 square foot  center that is adjacent to the race track and casino. There are retail shops, restaurants and entertainment facilities.

I went there on a Sunday evening during the non-racing season and it felt much more like a retirement community then the youthful Hardrock Casino area. We dined at Christine Lees and the piano player was playing to that audience...but I did like the food at Christine Lees and the view of the racetrack is unmatched.

There is free self-parking and valet parking for $5.

I do not consider myself a big time gambler and that is probably a good thing since my extreme competitive nature would lead me to bankruptcy! I do though enjoy an occasional day at the races and Gulfstream is the best place in town ever since Hialeah closed down.  If you haven't tried it out, I highly recommend.
Go there with a modest budget to gamble, pick horses however you think will work for you and you never know... you might actually walk out a winner!!  It is also a great place to people watch as you will see someone from every category known to man.  Overall, a great place to spend a day

Friday nights they have a seafood buffet which I loved! The crablegs are generous in size.  I think it's pretty much the only seafood buffet in miami. $25 per head on a friday night. And it's fun to bet on the horses at the same time.
