I passed this place many a time on my drive to San Diego. We stayed here for the Pendleton Mud Run, and my friend's stayed here for the last few years the night before the race. Ghetto! The room smelled funky, carpet seems a bit worn, and I am reminded of that scene from the Office when the staff goes on a trade show, and there's a blacklight involved. You get the picture!
They do serve a continental breakfast. Oh well, it was only for a night.

this is the 2nd time ive stayed here. i have to say... the place is pretty dirty. I would never ever sleep on the floor for any reason even if they give me 1000$.
For some reason this year when we showed up, they require ID for each room that we signed up for. i don''t see the big deal, but thats what they said. okay. so my friend said to have a late check out for one of the room by noon, because one of our friend is really sick. 11:30 the people at the desk ask if we can check out, my friend said "ins't the check out time 12?" they replied yes and hung up. 11:45 comes along, they actually had some man knocking on the door waiting to clean up. uh... check out time is 12pm! i dont think its right for them to do that to continously hurry ppl off.
not only the place is dirty in the first place, but it also breaks what they promised. honestly... i dont think its right for them to kick people out of the room before the actual check out time. its unreasonable and rude!

What I'm the first to review this place? Okay sure its not a fancy hotel joint. Well okay its more like a motel. The rooms aren't pretty but they're clean. And we did have a 3rd floor room with an ocean view. Maybe its not the place to bring a girl if you want to impress her. Or if she's high maintenance. Hmmm, or maybe even medium maintenance.
Heck I don't know. But if you need to be close to the Oceanside pier for any reason (like the IM Cal race for example) then this is a great place. Its a short bike ride or walk to the pier or downtown. And conveniently located near the 5/76 junction too. Anyway it was good enough for me and my friend. His wife, well probably she'd prefer someplace else.
I must comment on the great service here. During check-in we were scavenging for food in the lobby break area, eating pretzels and bananas. The desk lady said, hey go look in the back room, there's apples. Yep we ate a couple of those too. They have complimentary continental breakfast in the morning -- cereal, fruit, pastries, coffee, etc. The morning desk guy helped us with a big plate to carry all our grub to the room.
