I can't believe how little people liked this place-- I had a way better experience (p.s. I would never drink the in-room coffee, so I can't speak to that).
Pro: The hotel was cheap, clean, and fairly average for an inexpensive place (kinda Motel 8-ish) but much safer and with awesome staff. They have a free shuttle that will drop off/pick up around the aquarium. They helped us print out our ferry reservation, they picked us up at some random place when we got lost, offered to shuttle us to places they thought we'd like, etc. I thought the staff was super duper nice and really responsive. They even let you leave your car there if you go on a cruise or to the ferry.
Con: breakfast is only carbs and fruit, no protein except milk for cereal. Also, the hotel doesn't look at all like the website, except inside around the pool. The pic I posted is from Google maps and therefore pretty ugly, so don't take either exactly at face value.
I would totally go back.
We stayed here one night with a group of students. The pictures I've seen need to be updated, because they look like they were taken in the 80s. This place is decent if you plan on staying one night only. We had 25 students, so this place worked.
The beds were okay but the bathroom, tried as they might, needed a major overhaul. Some of the paint was chipped, and it looked like the bathroom used to be surgical green. The sleep timer didn't work on my t.v. which sucked. The continental breakfast was decent. I love muffins from Costco...Who doesn't? They also had waffle irons, fruit, juice, hot and cold cereal. This worked out well for our students. They'll eat anything...LOL!
The in-room coffee, according to one of my colleagues was awful. So I scored major gold stars with them when I trekked the half mile at 6 am for Starbucks. Imagine their feelings of joy at the sight of a venti cafe latte before breakfast with the brood. I initially planned on going for selfish reasons, but then I thought it wouldn't be fair that I'm hyped up and they're not. Yes, sometimes I'm not so evil.
I would stay here again if I needed an inexpensive place to sleep and shower. Anything longer than a day would be stupidity. Oh, they have a nice pool and the staff was pretty friendly.

Can you give 0 stars in Yelp? Well, if you can, then this one will get a 0 star. Complaints about this place is too numerous to number. I'll just point out the highlights.
1) super outdated, dirty room
2) smelly shower curtains
3) impolite staff. Thanks for rolling our eyes at us and giving us attitude when asking if she can please bring more waffle mix
4) NO PARKING after 9pm. And if you find parking, spaces are so tight that an "Austin Powers" moment is necessary if you guys know what i'm talking about
5) Free wifi which should be a plus, but is super slow
6) Prices are not the cheapest in town. Location is okay but far away from downtown and pier (10-12 minutes at least)
7) very very limited continental breakfast choices (waffle mix, cereal, banana, OJ, nasty muffins, dry crossiants
Okay, i don't want to be completely harsh, here are some positives:
1) the pool is big with 9ft end so you can do dives
2) the walls are pretty thick compared to modern hotels. Can't hear neighbors at all
3) free (but hard to find) parking
4) that's about it...sorry.
I hate ripping too harshly on places but yeah...there are just way better choices elsewhere.

The Guesthouse looks far nicer on the outside than it is on the inside. From the outside it looks like a nice vacation/business hotel in a nice enough neighborhood. On the inside there is a long list of complaints including, dirty bedding, very old rooms and the proximity of many rooms to large dumpsters.
My mom came into town and wasn't up to sleeping on my air mattress this time, so I suggested this place. It's not too far from my house and, like I said, it looked nice from the outside. The price was about $120 per night, so given that and the looks of it - I thought it'd be the perfect place for my mom to stay. Boy, was I wrong.
The service at the registration desk wasn't awful, she gave us good directions to the room. It was as we got closer and closer to the room when the problems began to arise. This whole wing of the hotel (or is it motel, I think it's motel...right...doors on the outside means motel?) is almost in the alley behind the place and is right next to the dumpsters of both the motel and of my beloved Greenfield restaurant next door. Then we enter the room...and the only time I expect to see rooms like this is when I spent all of my money in Vegas and I have to stay at one of the $50/night rooms there. It was tiny, with a tiny TV, old 80's bedding (that hadn't been washed in quite a while) and barely working toilet and the constant smell of dumpsters seeping in.
My mom decided not to sleep there, shortly after checking in, we headed back to the front desk and checked right out. The woman at the front desk really didn't even ask why - I think she knew and promptly gave my mom a refund.
Thumbs Up:
-Good location
-Decent service
-Very, very, very close to Greenfield
Thumbs Down:
-Overpriced
-Lousy, outdated rooms
-Not clean
-All around kind of gross
