Beth Alyse's help with my wardrobe updating and in home closet service was the best money i have spent on myself in a while, she even took the time to assess what i could repurpose and what was best donated to a charitable organizaton!

I got a makeover with Guerrilla from Jack a few years ago after begging him to nominate me for TLC's What Not To Wear. omg - it was fantastic. My guy (John?) took me places I would have never thought to enter and had me try on clothes that I would've normally passed by for various reasons. He asked my budget and stuck with it. There was no pressure to buy anything at any time. He opened my eyes to see that you don't have to be a size 6 to be sexy, or cute, or whatever look you are going for. Honest too - I would put something on and he would say "uh, take that off right now."
He opened my eyes as to what types of clothes I should wear that suit my shape and even my face (e.g no high round collars for my round-y face).
This was a turning point in my fashion life and I thank God for them everytime I get dressed.

Even though my wallet was literally stolen minutes after my session with GM (see Old Navy SF review for details on that story), I will still give 5 stars to Beth Alyse, who listens to you, assesses your situation (and works with even a ridiculously limited budget) quickly and somehow comes up with a fashion "solution" within minutes. Literally.
This experience is well worth the money (she's very reasonable for the personalized attention you get) for anyone who needs a little help with fashion and has an open mind. BA is sort of like a clothing psychologist and has a good sense about people. She is also knows where to go, and the folks at the makeup counter know her.

I am so grateful for BethAlyse and crew. I was probably their most difficult client because I hated shopping and dealing with my looks, but guess what? now I love it! I put on makeup every morning that is flattering (yupp they showed me how to do that) and I can shop and put together styles that are flattering for my body and have my personality.
Amazing, seriously, i was never the person who had any style and now strangers are complimenting me on what great style I have. I used to think if anyone looked at me they were staring at me because I looked dumpy, now when people look at me I think they are checking out my style and that I look good!!!
This experience has just done wonders on my self esteem as well, I am job hunting and feeling good about the way i look helps gives the air of confidence employers are looking for. Also BethAlyse helped me with what to wear at interviews and at work.
It is a transforming experience. I can't thank BethAlyse and Guerilla Makeovers enough and also my hubby who got the gift for my birthday. Best gift ever.

I got a makeover with Beth before I started a new job in the beauty industry and it was amazing! Beth Alyse was so great. Her comments really helped me to feel great about myself and I really enjoyed spending the day with her. The day was a little hectic running from one place to another to have a complete makeover, but it was totally worth it. At the end of the day, I had a whole new look and wardrobe. Everything was absolutely fabulous! I have gotten so many compliments on my clothes, hair and makeup! It has been really great for the way I feel about myself, which I didn't even realize I needed. I absolutely recommend this service to anyone looking for a new look or even just a pick me up. It was AMAZING!!!

Brought my two children 7 and 17 for two days of Make-overs with Sarah (who is the absolute best!) They both got "Rock-Star" make-overs! Sara is amazing. My 17 yo son who hates to shop, now has a passion for it. He looks AMAZING! My 7yo daughter now is a "DIVA". Sarah made them feel and look amazing. They want to bring her home with us. They can't stop talking about her! I can't thank Guerilla Make-over enough for the wonderful 2-day shopping spree we had! It was unbelievable. We will be forwarding the pictures to you from the photo-shoot too! Feel free to use them on your Web page! Beth Alyse in an amazing stylist with an incredible eye. I have worked with her on several fashion shows and shoots and I am always amazed with your her brilliant touch and ideas. Not only is she on the pulse of fashion trends, she has a strong talent for finding peoples inner beauty and making them come to life. In addition she is very professional and always a pleasure to work with. I recommend Beth and her company Guerilla Makeovers again and again... they are the best!:)

Beth Alyse is so nice and so fun, but when it comes to your makeover, she does not play! YOU feel like you're playing when you are with her -- and you are; you're playing with your style -- but she is totally serious about taking your natural qualities and enhancing/magnifying/accentuating and over-all beautifying you.
GM's policy is top notch **customized** customer service. One can see from all these reviews that Beth can make over pretty much any aspect of your style, so all you have to do is let her know what you'd like to make your focus. I spent my session with her in the hair and make-up department of my life, but I'll definitely be going back for wardrobe/accessory help!
The session started with Beth's amazingly effective (while concise) get-to-know-you. She wants to know why your style is what it is when you approach her, and she wants to know what is important to you, and what might be holding your style back... She is remarkably perceptive, sensitive, and respectful of how your style needs to be a reflection of your lifestyle and values -- it needs to fit --and she is very conscientious to not impose anything on you. But at the same time, she is there to push you like a style fitness trainer and bring out (show you!) your best. It is really a tremendous service and a total bargain for what you get in your time.
Finally, there is no pressure to make any purchases. I did end up buying some of the make-up products that were shown to me, but I did so at my own leisure after my session. There was no "salesmanship" taking time from my session and it was clear that Beth was very discerning throughout the process--not willing to wait for make-up artists who were dragging their feet, and asserting herself to make sure I was getting to see as many different options as possible for my skin and my hair cut/style. After (and during) the application/experimentation process with make-up, we discussed my skin, and the qualities and uses of products available/suitable for what I wanted. Beth had literally encyclopedic knowledge about each line of products we tried and she had such great ideas for my hair and styling. She hooked me up with a fantastic hair stylist so I can make my new look last!

Gentlemen: Ye who are helpless to determine your own fashion sense would be greatly rewarded by retaining the services of this master fashion and stylist consultant. She'll make you look BEAUTIFUL. :-) And if you possess bearded facial accoutrement, she will help you as well. The art of properly trimming one's beard is essential.
She is my exclusive stylist consultant and will remain so for as long as I can hold on to her! -

This was one of the best birthday presents I've ever had. The experience with Beth Alyse was transformative. We spent an in-depth hour discussing my goals, perspective, history, sense of self, and beyond. It was a really GREAT discussion and then we went and looked at clothes. We didn't spend very long looking at stuff at all; I reacted and commented and opined, and we ended up with a huge pile of stuff. We spent hours trying it on and discussing it. Beth Alyse is so enthusiastic and articulate and encouraging. I walked away with some very clear ideas (I'm wearing my pants way too big, for one thing), some new tactics and a ridiculous pile of new clothes. I am looking forward to next steps, trying to apply some of what I've learned to buying shoes and also to my current closet, and I can't wait til I have another opportunity to work with her again. We barely touched hair and other styling issues but there's obviously more to be learned from her on those topics as well. Highly-recommended, even if the idea makes you nervous, it was tremendously inspiring and exciting!

I moved to San Francisco about 4 months ago, and completely changed my life. After spending 15 years in finance, wearing suits except for casual Fridays where we got to wear khakis and a logo shirt, I was at a loss for how to dress in my new position, in my new city, and most of the time felt like I was a round peg in a square hole. I looked very much like a tourist, and felt like an outsider. ENTER BETH ALYSE! I did a closet makeover and a style makeover with her that was SO PERFECT for what I needed. I definitely had my own idea of what I liked and didn't, and most of it was totally inappropriate for my new role in my new city. We dug through every inch of my closet and I tried everything on, and the surprising thing was that I got to keep about 75% of what I had, even though I told her I had no attachment to any of it, and whatever she wanted to get rid of, would go. She showed me ways to put together outfits I would have never thought of with what I have and told me where to wear them, or how to make them more "San Francisco". She even went though my makeup and told me what colors were wrong for me (all my favorites, of course!) and why. The next weekend we went for a makeup lesson (WOW!) a day of shopping and the most fabulous hair color and cut ever (Thank you Alex at Chakra!). I totally feel reborn...but the best part is, it's ME only better!! If you want a refreshed, or totally new look, for any reason, don't hesitate to call or email Beth. You won't be sorry, and she's worth every penny and then some!!!
