This is so upsetting to find out this GEM in Flushing is closed. OH NO!! I was hoping to go back. I loved it and thought it was the best dim sum between Brooklyn, Manhattan and Queens. So sad!

I remember walking in and I noticed the first good sign.......all the patrons are Chinese. VERY GOOD SIGN. All Chinese except for the people I was with!!!!!!! Every dim sum dish was fresh and yummy. We had all the basics and some not so basic.

I am going to figure out if they opened anywhere else because I loved it. The quality of the seafood in their dim sum.....#1.

It's a shame this place closed! It was always a safe bet for dimsum, and nice traditional decor. Decent variety and always fresh. The new Grand Restaurant probably stole all their business. Hopefully the talent kitchen staff will find outlets elsewhere!

    Chinese-to-white ratio = 50:1!

    Wow!

This restaurant[1] looked promising from the very beginning, and it delivered: one of the best dim sum experiences I've ever had.

The place looks like any other dim sum restaurant: large dining room with flat screen TV[2] and a wall of fish tanks to the right as you enter[3]. Full to the brim with hungry customers, carts racing around the tables, servers screaming, total mayhem. I loved it!

All the dishes with shrimp we had were scrumptious: nice, plump shrimps cooked to perfection as to strike a perfect balance between consistency and flavor.

The rice noodle roll with Youtiao (aka Chinese bread) and rice noodle roll with lightly marinated shrimp were particularly delicious, together with the dumplings with shrimp and vegetables.

I particularly liked a dish called "shian zhou juen" (or something like that): fresh bamboo tofu skin roll, with chicken, shrimp, and black fungus. I particularly enjoyed the crunchy consistency of the fungus.

Chicken feet were excellent, but the duck feet were even better: nice and juicy, fatty and super-flavorful.

The coconut cake we had for dessert was wonderful: yummy and bouncy, and not too sweet (the way I like it).

The only disappointment was a dish of flat noodles with beef and bean sprouts: the thin slices of beef were fatty and juicy, but the dish was overall bland without a distinctive flavor.

4.5 stars. Stick to the dim sum items and you won't be disappointed.

[1] The name on the outside is Guang Zhou Restaurant, but the cards and the menu say "Ji Shiang Restaurant". Go figure...

[2] The place hosts karaoke nights during the week. Luckily, the TV was off during our dining experience.

[3] I fell in love with two beautiful Alaskan King Crabs that were looking at me amorously from their tank. Hello sexy! I'll catch you next time.

On Labor Day the boy and I decided to brave the drive into Flushing to try some place new for lunch. All the Asians should be at the casinos right? ;)

Alex. S. with his picture of those drool-worthy condensed milk tarts (http://www.yelp.com/bi... ) and numerous rave reviews on Yelp sold me into trying dim sum at Guang Zhou.

I have no issues sharing a large table with another party as it seems the norm when you arrive as a party of two. However after a quick 5 minute wait we were directed into a small room at the back of the restaurant and away from the main dining room. One of the worst seats in the house as many of the carts bypassed the room.

It took 15 minutes for us to find a cart that had the dishes we wanted. The same 3 carts entered the room about 4 times trying to sell us old dishes that either no one else wanted or they had an abundance of.

The boy believes that the true test for a dim sum place is how good the har gow (shrimp dumpling) is. Plump, bouncy shrimp, thin skin, and bursting with flavor. I like to humor his beliefs since that's one of my favorite dishes to order but unfortunately for us, we never saw any har gow brought in from the carts.

    - Regular chili sauce is offered at the table instead of the XO sauce I prefer
    - Black Sesame Balls were my favorite - dough was crispy and thin with warm sesame paste oozing out after a bite.
    - Pai gwat (pork ribs) bones were haphazardly cut, leaving sharp edges that cut my tongue.
    - Tripe wasn't cooked long enough and lacked tenderness

Food was good but not enough to warrant a second visit and have a go in the main dining room. I can't comment on the variety since the unfortunate location of our table made variety non-existent. None of those condensed milk tarts, no sticky rice, no bacon wrapped shrimp balls. I did however see har gow at every table in the main room as we left the restaurant.

Flushing dim sum is better than Chinatown dim sum.

Guang Zhou restaurant serves the best dim sum I've ever experienced.  I haven't been able to come back for a while now.  I hope it has stood the test of time.

The MUST-TRY dish: Lau Sa Bao(bun with molten egg yolk).  Best way to devour: carefully split the bao in two to release some of the heat.  It'll burn if you go straight for the kill.

The service wasn't so great. I asked for chicken feet and the lady said they didn't have any so she brought over duck feet. But later on one of the managers told us they had chicken feet.

The prices are way too high for not-so-best dim sum.

The atmosphere is fancy and well-lit which i like.

This is a good place for large parties they have a 2nd floor seating area

This review is for a banquet dinner held by mister's father side of the family. It was a party for a newborn baby! Yay! This is the first time that I attended a banquet at this restaurant. We were running late and once inside, I saw a bunch of large round tables on top of each other. Also, there was another party going inside on the other side of the wall divider that sat in the middle of the place.

The mister and I could not sit with our immediate family so we were squeezed in with other relatives which I was fine with. The baby's father complained to us that this place only set up eleven tables and that they needed twelve tables. First of all, the space alloted to him was not enough for eleven tables. Also, there was another party in the same space, a corporate party on the other side of the divider. I've had my share of attending banquets at chinese restaurants and I could never understand why you would want to share your party space with another party going on. It's just plain tacky! The baby's parents got their wish of getting the twelve table set up after more latecomers showed up much to the dismay of the wait staff.

Now to the food. Out of the all banquets I've attended, the food here is awful. This place gets the extra star of due to the delish fried rice and noodles served unfortunately at the end of the banquet. So we suffered through nine dishes that were not good at all. To name a few are the very tasteless shark fin soup and lobster deep fried in batter. One standout was the lamp chop dish that I heard from the baby's father that was ordered on special from another place. That's says alot when you have to ordered food from another place.

Now to the guests that annoyed the hell out of me. There were friends of the baby's uncle that were there and kept coming to our table to toast with the mister. At first, I thought it was nice to toast on red wine to congradulate the new parents. Every ten minutes during the meal, the uncle's friends kept coming over to toast with the mister. And to my dismay, my mister kept indulging them. I was getting annoyed and so was the mister's grandma and mother. I even told the uncle that his friends are crazy. The grandma scolded the mister to stop drinking.

The best part of the banquet besides the fried rice and noodles was the time to leave. After seeing all the kids running all over the place and creating havoc and seeing the uncle's annoying friends trying to get drunk on red wine, I was ready to call it a night. I would not recommend this place to hold a banquet or have dinner.

1:30pm on a Monday: we walked up the stairs to GZ and while my Chinese friend said something to the host which I'm assuming was 'Get us a table, NOW!', I took a survey of the restaurant. It was PACKED. Don't you people have to work?!?! Huh.. me neither.

We sat with a couple at a round table which normally would be weird, but given they're Chinese and are focused on their own food, they don't give a damn about us or what we're talking about or what we're ordering. Man, I love Asians. It's always about the food!

We snagged some dishes off the screaming ladies' carts. I loved the shrimp rice crepes but those things are tricky to pick up with chopsticks for a non-native chopsticks user like me (18 years and counting). The chicken's feet were okay.. great taste, but I can never get myself to work that hard for my food. Maybe they're not for me? Egg custard buns! Gooey oozing sweet centers! As gratifying as popping an egg yolk!

Total came out to $20 with tip, and we were stuh-uffed. (But not too stuffed to go down the street to Nan Shian for an order of soup dumplings shhh don't tell.) The name on the paper chopsticks holder said 'Ji Shiang' but I think Guang Zhou is a more literal translation of the Chinese name.

Basic Cantonese food. They have two large TVs showing films--Transformers for me.

I like that they served fruit and sweet porridge. I don't usually go for sweet porridge; I always go for fruit.

    Their service is pretty fast.

All in all, it was not too memorable for a Christmas dinner...

Located on the second floor, Guang Zhou offers pretty good dim sum. Not a big fan of their fried noodles though. We got a mushroom and bamboo pith noodle and what we got was a pile of "wanton noodles" with thick gooey sauce. Yuck.

As far as dim sum goes, like I said, is good and the seafood are very fresh. Love the shrimp dumplings and stuffed peppers & eggplant. Not a big fan of the rice rolls though. Don't like the consistency of the dough.

This place rekindled my love for dim sum. If only it didn't require a long 7 train ride. I am sure my arteries are thanking me. The dining room reminded me of Hong Kong classy - unlike the Manhattan Chinatown places where you often have to take matters into your own hands to get food.

I got there ahead of my friends. I asked the host for a table for 10 and he said, "hurry, come with me before the table is gone". This is a departure from the NYC places that refuse to seat incomplete parties. We had a nice smorgasbord of people at the table that day - Mandarin speaking, Cantonese speaking, English speaking, etc. Knowing Chinese helps when you're talking to the cart ladies.

There is a good circulation of carts. We tried the standard dim sum stuff. The tripe was awesome. So was the stuffed eggplant and rice crepe-wrapped fritter. Chicken feet was fall of the bone good and I even convinced my Iowa-raised roommate to try it.

My friends were a huge fan of the tea I ordered. I always ask for a mix of chrysanthemum and pu-er tea. It's helps with cutting the grease. Also, you'll be dying of thirst after you're done eating because of the MSG. Make sure you stay hydrated.

We ate a ton and it came out to $20 per person. Not the cheapest, but you could tell it was quality dim sum.

An all-around good dim sum place!

Found two good dim sum places (East Harbor Seafood Restaurant and Pacifana) in Bklyn and right now found one in Flushing.  Got two boroughs covered.  What about Chinatown?  Yes, Golden Unicorn. What about Staten Island and Bronx?  Don't know any so far.  The dim sum are good and fresh probably it was the weekend.  Usually the staff work extra harder on the weekends to bring out food for customers to eat.  I like this place.  If you want to find out how good this place is then you should come out to have dim sum with your friends and family.   The service was ok.  The waitress came to give us new plates without us asking for them.

Thinking to take my family here for their birthdays even it will take us about two hours to get here.

This one disapointed us: Went for the famous Chinese DimSum on a Sunday noon. so-so busy, no waiting. 99.9% chinese clientel. As in most (not all) dimsum restaurants service is very difficult go get. The food here is only so so on the medium scale. Not a very big veraity as is the norm for the dimsum carts and very long time between the carts beeing pushed around the room. The place is old and shows it's age to much, " A few flowers and a little paint" would go a long way here.

    Ya gotta love the name.

This is a typical, and from what we've been told, a very good place to go for Dim Sum.

Located on the 2nd floor of a nondescript building this place was CRAZY. There was a lady on the loud speaker yelling random numbers in Chinese and then in English, a line out the door and in the distance we could see ladies in yellow uniforms with white kitchen hats rolling carts of food around.

This was all of our first experience with dim sum, so to say the least, we didn't know what was going on, how to order and we stuck out like a sore thumb. Seated pretty quickly, we had no idea that we were being sat at the same table as two other parties. We sat down awkwardly and were immediately bombarded by serving ladies asking us if we wanted what was in their baskets. After ordering some pink chicken...we knew we needed some help.

Luckily there was a very nice couple from Hong Kong sitting next to us who were more than willing to tell us what different foods were and even let us try some of their dishes. I love awesome nice people.

A couple of the items we tried:

    - Shrimp wrapped in hot chili peppers - MY FAV

    - Chicken wrapped in fish gulls - We bought it (not knowing what it was but just saying, "Yes, yes, yes" to the server), but just couldn't stomach it to even try it (this was the pink chicken)

    - Deep fried sesame rice balls filled with black sesame paste  (shown below) - Practically dessert.

We ordered a lot of food and were stuffed by the end. The bill really didn't come out to too much though, which we were farely suprised about, especially after the lady next to us told us that the pink chicken dish we weren't eating was very expensive because of the fish gulls around it. Mmmyum...fish gulls...

A very authentic trip into another culture's 'Sunday Brunch.' No you will not find any pancakes, waffles or Bloody Marys at this establishment.

    Definitely bring the out-of-towners.

Came by this place in the afternoon.  Not too bad of a wait for a table, but we had to share a big round table with another group.  We were ok with that since we were starving.  This place is much smaller than the other dim sum houses in Flushing.

Food was pretty good.  They had all my favorites: shrimp chong fun,  purple eggplant stuffed with a shrimp paste, taro dumplings, etc...   I especially liked their beef tendon dish.  Haven't seen this served in many restaurants.

However for dessert, the egg custard was disappointing... could have been a bad batch that came out.  It was very watery looking... doesn't look as if it was steamed or cooled down thoroughly.  When we had shown the waitress and asked to exchange the dish, she gave us a bit of attitude.  She scuffed at us and said that is how their egg custards are made.  Give me break... who would eat a watery, uncooked egg custard??  So beware of service, it's pretty uncooperative.

One star just for the name of this establishment. And based on the service, it was a Perfect Team with one objective: serve as many dishes to our table as possible. It kind of reminded me of being on the beaches of Acapulco, having to say "no gracias" to vendors selling goods every 2 minutes. But then again, we were at Dim Sum, and looking to ingest lots of delicious MSG before the Mets game.

Being from San Francisco, I've had a couple experiences with Dim Sum, and while this place had tasty dishes at decent prices, overall every dish really tasted the same. Salty, salty, goodness. My favorites were the giant meatballs, the beef wontons, and steamed vegetable dumplings. We passed on the chicken feet. For 6 people, I think the bill was under 60 bones. Only 1 stop away from the old and new Mets stadium.

I am not sure how "Perfect Team" came about since the Chinese name of the restaurant translates to Guangzhou (Canton) Restaurant. For patrons, this was probably their perfect choice as the lines were going out the door close to 1pm. Though not as large as Linden Place or Jade Asian, Pefect Team Corp (PTC) is still a very comfortable and spacious place for dim sum. Even sittting among a group of 12, I did not feel cramped.

I always look forward to dim sum in Flushing as the food is often fresher and tastier compared to restaurants in Chinatown Manhattan. It is worth the  45 minute trek. I'd even say the food at PTC is actually picturesque. The pan-fried turnip cake and shrimp dumplings were absolutely great to look at, and they were equally pleasing to the taste buds. Rice noodles (with shrimp) were supposedly sold out by 1pm, but we still managed to our hands on some before all is said and done. It certainly helps to know a floor manager at there. All other staples such as marinated chicken feet, spare ribs, and taro dumplings were excellent as well.

The prices were a bit on the expensive side with the "large" items going for $3.50 a plate. But when dim sum is mostly $1.50 a plate in Chinatown, one's opinion can be a bit skewed. The best advice is to get there early to avoid lines and reduce the risk of a smaller dim sum selection due to high demand. It would also be prudent to sit in the main room to maintain visibility, otherwise the dim sum ladies most likely pass you by. At that point, you will just have to bring your dim sum card and hound them at the carts!

    A solid 3.5 stars.

Went for breakfast this morning.. Breakfast started at 10 am. this morning.. Took my buddy that has never had Chinese Food outside of Italy.. He made certain to express his concern about going to a Chinese Place..

We lucked out in that it only took 5 minutes to find parking in the lot across the street.. i have good luck in the area of parking but, I have circled for upwards of 15 minutes..

I love this place but, would like to offer some minor changes.. Order the black tea. much better than the regular tea.. i also like the chili oil they offer.. better than the regular mashed chile..

anyway, we had a 2 hour lunch, tried most of the food.. my girl is looking at me and wants me to stop typing.. everything was good.

Arrived on Mother's Day at 10:30 and got a table for 4 right away. By 11:00, there was a crowd waiting for tables.

The food isn't great, but there are all the classics, they replenish the carts constantly, and all the dishes are hot out of the kitchen. My favorite aspect is that the servers and cart pushers actually communicate with and assist each other. It makes the entire dining experience much more enjoyable.

Oh, and this less known place is cheaper than the others (for now...)

Yes. Have to say not a big dim sum place but the food is delicious!  Nothing can be better than a morning of dim sum with family.  And especially when you get to choose from more than the usual ones.

I'm a big fan of the traditional weird stuff (aka...those who would be gross out by certain parts which i will not name...for the more adventurous types) but they have it here and they make it just right!

And desserts and congee are good too!

    No pork buns?? Wah!

But I still really enjoyed everything I ate here on Sunday, almost as much as I enjoy the odd name of this establishment.

Shroom egg rolls, shrimp in multiple kinds of dumplings, fish balls, some kind of fried dough thingy with plum sauce, and for dessert a mochi-like, custard-filled mush ball. I'm probably forgetting something. Oh yeah, yummy jasmine tea.

My friend and I each spent $11 and were definitely full afterwards.

The service wasn't ideal and it was hard to communicate with some of the waiters (asking for water took multiple steps b/c when my friend asked the waitress assumed only he wanted it and then looked pissed when we asked for a second glass) and there was a lack of vegetables, though the variety in general was good.

Though we didn't venture to try to chicken feet or snails, we did get to observe the two girls at our table nibbling apart the chicken feet. Maybe next time I'll try that.

This is classic Hong Kong-style cuisine.  The restaurant's interior looks and feels like a restaurant in Hong Kong, and the food was excellent.

I tried the sizzling plate beef with mushroom slices from the specials menu, and it was wonderfully tender.

The fried long li fish was very well prepared as well.

I'm intrigued by everyone else's dim sum reviews, I'll have to try their dim sum sometime.

Gotta love the name.  In Chinese it's name is just a totally bland Guanzhou.

I stopped into this place twice, as it was a newly discovered place my friends had found. They got a lot of different dishes, i think they make up some dishes as they go along. Kinda amusing. The ladies are pretty nice, if you ask them for something they'll usually tell the other ladies on the carts when they pass them or when they reload their carts remember that you wanted it. The service is pretty good, the staff clears your empty dishes and chat it up with you at times. They have guys with trays of stuff coming out of the kitchen just made, and they're always trying to sell it to people cause they don't want to be out there with the dimsum ladies.
overall a good place to have dimsum.

I never in my life have had dim sum this good - even better than what I've had in Hong Kong.  The dim sum here is fresh and the variety of dishes is unsurpassed.  I think the difference is that the food here is not as greasy so the flavors of the dishes really come out when they aren't covered in oil.  It was a dim sum meal of epic proportions.  Everything I had was amazing - the siu mai, the pork spare ribs, chicken feet, congee with thousand-year egg, the rice noodles wrapped shrimp, egg custard tarts...Karman L. should be able to fill in the blanks in her review.  I was so happy that I may have temporarily blacked out from sheer joy.  My favorite part of the meal was that they actually had "Chinese escargot" - snails in a black bean sauce and you have to use a toothpick to pull out the meat.  My dad makes the dish all the time and I had a huge craving.  I have never had it restaurant style and it was just like my Dad makes.

I can only imagine how unbelievably good the food is for dinner.

This is a new-ish place for dim sum in Flushing.

When you walk through the first set of glass doors, you walk two flights up to be at the restaurant.

I had "brunch" on Labor Day with family and someone suggested to go to Perfect Team Corporation Restaurant. All I was told is that this place is on 37th Ave near the Social Security Administration office in Flushing, NY. It was across from the municipal parking lot, parking there was a nightmare as always. The hostess asked how many in our party and gave a number. It was about 10:25 am and fairly packed already with a few parties in front of us, we were given number 9. It was about 10-15 minutes before we were seated. In short, the wait was well worth it. They served your typical dim sum here. However, the dim sum was very good quality and very fresh. On one side of the restaurant, there were a series of fish tanks display. As with any restaurant, you have to wait until 11:00am before you can order something (e.g.: beef chow fun, no that's not what I had) from the kitchen. There was some confusion as to whether our order went through by 11:20am (first we were told it was not put in, then it was canceled, speaking of the devil, it arrived). Anywho, we chowed down the dish. No complaint about the service from the wait staff.

Perhaps my only "complaint" may fall with the tea pot being small, we had a party of 7 and two tea pots, had to constantly flag down a member of the wait staff to refill about 3-4 times.

The restroom facilities was very limited for the size of the restaurant and there was graffiti on the inside of the door. There was actually a line.

Nonetheless, this place still gets a four star rating.

As of the writing of this review, I do not have the phone number yet, nor have I located a website online. The address is correct though. However, I do hope to return the next time I'm in NYC for a weekend and planning on brunch and update the business information (as I was not able to find it in yellow pages online).
Edit: Phone number was amended by someone else to the business information shortly after I submitted the review.

If you are in Flushing and seeking very good dim sum and you want a change of scenery, I would recommend stopping by Perfect Team Corporation Restaurant. I looked over the check, there was no 15% service charge added to the check's total (at the moment), nor do I recall sales tax added to the check. Between the quality of the food and the service charge not added to the check's total, this may very well be a reason that I will return.

jade palace will be visited, REALLY, but not this day.

hit up guang zhuo again today. food was best i'd had here. highlights:
    - BACON! bacon-wrapped shrimp-ball
    - all the dumplings were tasty, esp the veggie-shrimp. the taro wasn't as appreciated, but its very taro-y, and fresh
    - beef meat balls
    - pepper beef

a note on sticky rice! its not like the thai version; its got ground pork? beef? and is wrapped in taro? leaf.

if you have need, there is a parking lot two doors before the restaurant, as one drives down 37th from union.

this is pretty good cantonese cooking!

love the braised e mein.  they have duck tongue and they know how to make it tasty here!  dim sum is really good.  surprising how the food has very little grease or oil.

the name of this place is so cantonese.  the chinese name is just canton restaurant.  why they didn't named it perfect team in chinese is beyond me but it is the just too funny to have a place with that name in english.  they deserve five stars just for the name alone.

My parents recently discovered this place and loved it so much that they convinced my husband and me to go with them here for dim sum.  We had a party of 5 and waited about 15 minutes before we got a table.  It was definitely busy and we were a little afraid that we would get seated with other people since my parents had that happen to them last time but luckily we got a table to ourselves.  There are a lot of carts going around.  Each cart had a little something that each of us liked.  I'm not sure if it was because of where we were sitting but usually by the time they got to us, the table before us took the last of whatever item we wanted so we had to wait a little bit for them to refill and come back.  My mom also went up to a waitress with our bill to get a dish that she was hand serving to tables.  That's how fast food goes at this place (and how crazy my mom was).  The service itself was super speedy.  Our empty food plates were cleared quickly, water was filled before we had to ask and they even gave us fresh plates half way through our meal.  The food was probably the best dim sum I've tasted in awhile.  Usually my dad likes to order noodle dishes with dim sum but we were so full off the dim sum that we didn't get any.  We saw a table next to us that ordered noodles and the portion size was gigantic.  Definitely well worth the money.  My parents told me that on the week days this place is a bit cheaper for dim sum, so if you're having a craving definitely check this place out!

One note about the bathroom, the line to the bathroom was long and the woman's room only had two stalls.  One was out of service so the wait was a lot longer.  Wish there were a lot more stalls!

Tonight was Chinese New Year dinner number two.  I was wondering what animals I will eat tonight and wondering how much more gym I will need this week.   I laugh when my doctor tells me I need to exercise more, if she really knew I go to the gym everyday.  I may have to change doctors.   She is using standard spiel on me.

Any restaurant that is not full on Chinese New Year is probably awful.  But as far as the restaurant goes, it was packed.   So I was kind of looking forward to see how this kitchen will execute the dishes.  I ordered the mutton casserole, pork ribs, tofu seafood in XO sauce, stir fried eel in veggies, pine nuts with turnip and lily bulbs.   After the dishes came out they didn't look like the pictures in the menu especially the tofu seafood in XO sauce.    It kind of looked sad, but I made the best out of it.    Portion size was kind of small too, but good thing there were more dishes ordered than usual (there was five of us).    The mutton casserole was OK and I think the pork ribs were just OK too.   The best dish that night was probably the eel.  It tasted like they used fresh eel and not frozen which I really appreciated.    I was looking around the restaurant and some people ordered the lobster salad, but it didn't look too appealing because I think I saw canned fruit cocktail in it.  I did so much time with that stuff in grade school that I can't stand it.   They also had fresh fish like baramundi, which is usually a good fish for steaming but I passed on it because I don't like the local brand - the meat is too soft.  Normally its an excellent fish even at $22/lb.  They also had the bamboo shell fish which has less bones and is the 101 for eating steamed fish.

The food is OK.  I think I give more points to the environment and the cleanliness.  Dinner  is a little more expensive here compared to other joints.   I think I'd rather eat Dim Sum here than dinner.   I consider their Dim Sum in the upper ranks in Flushing.

This 2nd floor dim sum spot shines with its attentive service and excellent quality. Its also very inexpensive. A good way to judge a dim sum place is how well they make their shu mai, and theirs was truly exceptional. However, what they had in quality, they were lacking in variety. The ladies did not bring around very many different dim sum carts. I am quite jealous of the reviewers who mentioned snails being served. Perhaps it was a slow day; it was not a weekend. Plus they wanted to give me a fork- hellooooo just because I am the only white person in here does not mean I wasn't using chopsticks since I was a toddler.

This place was nice.  Not as big as the huge Manhattan places like Golden Unicorn, and as a result did not have as much variety floating around on the carts.  But the food was good.  Don't try to drive here and park at the municipal lot across the street, it's a zoo on Sundays.  Just take the 7-train to the end.  Trust me on this.

let me start by saying that we have tried to sample many a dim sum place in flushing, chinatown and brooklyn.  the experience often makes the decision as to whether or not to come back.  and this place was great.

the service was very friendly and helpful.  each of our favorite dishes that we did not see on a cart, one of the floor managers found for us and delivered to our table.  the shu mai was fantastic along with the ha gow.  we also had chin tsuk yun, ha chong, tun gyun, among others.  everything was fresh and tasty.

the place wasnt super crowded either because we got there nice and early.  they were so friendly i even tried some basic chinese.  they didnt even laugh!  you have to love that.

Excellent dimsum house. Free valet parking (not municipal parking) Not as much variety as Jade Asian across the parking lot but it's smaller, more cosier and whatever they serve, they do it right. Recently they have $2 dimsum on weekdays, cheap! We come often!

This place is actually really good. I never came here for breakfast/brunch but I always seem to come here for dinner. Anyway, their food is really good. I've only been in a private room once but if you're in a private room, the people will serve you and are very attentive. Like, they will put all the dishes on your plate and everything without you having to get it yourself. (The catch is, everyone gets an equal amount and if you want more..you're screwed..hehe). The place was designed very well and has a rather "high-class" look. The food was good as well. As for service, the staff were pretty quick on their hands too what more is there to ask for?

I was here last Friday for a Birthday dinner with my family. I've also been here previously for dim sum during the day as well.

Let's start with dinner because most reviews are on dim sum (and they do taste mighty good!)

Apparently I got there late because my family ordered already and they were just waiting for me before they started cooking or serving the food. The waiters were really nice to us and were a little playful in a good way and were very helpful to our needs.

We started off with a shark-fin soup, it was delicious... Obviously it doesn't compare to the ones I had in Hong Kong, but it was pretty damn good. Well seasoned, and I wanted second - too bad there weren't any left.

Then we had 6 dishes, 3 (maybe 2) were vegetarian plates, a chicken dish, a meat clay-pot dish and a fish dish. I won't go over each one of them as I do not recall their names right now. The chicken was made with a lot of garlic with soy sauce, I loved the garlic smell of it and the taste was great. The chicken was juicy and if you like garlic, this dish is for you. The fried fish was pretty good, it wasn't your typical American deep fried kinda thing, but it was just seared on the outside and the inside was smooth as if you had steamed your fish. We also had a sauteed Chinese watercress - my favorite veggie. It was made with garlic and it wasn't that sensational. I personally like it with a little more flavor or cooked with fermented tofu (acquired taste, I know). There was this plate of sweet peas with some chewy thing that looked like squid but my family said no, and it's actually some veggie thing (you can look at the picture that I uploaded and decide for yourself). It was alright. The other 2 dishes were just there - they tasted good, but the clay-pot dish had to because of the way it's cooked and presented. The meat weren't chewy and they came right off when you bite it off. That was the only memorable part.

Anyway, when dinner was done, it came with a nice Pumpkin soup dessert and of course fruits. We also had cake for the birthday people, but we got that at Tai Pan.

That was dinner, it was great. I don't know the price, but I enjoyed the service and the food. Although walking down the stairs sucked after eating all that food.

Authentic, well-done Cantonese cuisine that I turn to for family get togethers.  I went to Guang Zhou restaurant again last night for dinner; third time in the past two months.  The place was packed by 6:30pm so it's definitely one of the few places in Flushing that I suggest making reservations for if you're going on the weekend or holiday dinner.  We started with the jellyfish heads and garlic spare rib cold plate combo.  The jellyfish was great but the ribs were just OK -  not bad but nothing special.  The Cantonese steak fillet is the best here -- so tender and in a sweet and tangy sauce with sauteed onions.  Even if you don't like the sweet/sour thing, this steak is worth getting and a real crowd pleaser.  Another regular for us is the fried shrimp in mayonnaise sauce with fried milk custard and glazed walnuts -- yes, not a diet dish but worth the calories.  The splurge was the crab over sticky rice -- the crab was good and fresh but the rice was a bit hard and not enough.  This dish is still the best at Imperial.  Another noteworthy dish is their Chinese broccoli sauteed with Chinese wine -- simple but really good.  The flavors here are fresh and you don't leave the meal dying of the MSG thirst afterwards.
