i LOVE groupon!
i'm usually not into using coupons. i always seem to forget them, the discounts aren't all that great, the terms are too restrictive, or they're to places that i wouldn't ordinarily go.
groupon, on the other hand, does it right. daily emails with offers that are typically over 50% to places that i would go to anyway.
to date i've purchased groupons to:
- 55 degrees wine bar
- overland car wash
- orris restaurant
- marina del rey to catalina island high speed ferry
- tengu restaurant
- k1 go-kart racing
i love that you can use groupons for discounts off of restaurant regular menus, instead of those dreaded price fixe menus where they give you pre-prepared, crappier food at a lower price.
all of your groupons are stored on their website so that you can access them at any time and from anywhere. all of the businesses seem genuinely happy to accept groupons too, which reduces the feeling-like-a-cheap-bastard-factor when you hand them one.
a fantastic new business concept, perfect for these difficult economic times...dammit, i wish i'd thought of it.
Five Reasons Groupon is a five-star operation:
1) It saves me money on places I love!! $10 for 4 smoothies at the Protein Bar, $22 for "the man" treatment at Halo, cheap rooftop tickets to concerts and games! Awesome!
2) It encourages me to try places I haven't gone to (You can't go wrong on a new place when you're eating for half off!)
3) They tell me about places I haven't ever heard off-- thanks for telling me about Dinner by Design in Glenview!
4) Their customer service is great. The few times something went wrong with a vendor, they've corrected it right away.
5) They're charitable-- just last week they had a competition where if they raised $5,000 for the Chicago Food Depository, it would be matched by a donor. How great is it that through Groupon the CFD got $10,000!

I started by buying 20 dollar tickets to New York Vitners 2 hr class instead of $45.00. WOO HOO!
Everyday, Different Offers like Spas, Wine tasting, Packages to golf, bowling, Laser discounts, shopping Spree tickets!
BUT They have a limit TICKETS AND The TIME.
So it's good to check your emails and see what goodies you can get.
You can save at least 40 percent off retail!

Just had my dental exam, x-rays and teeth cleaning at a $59 steal via LLM Dental's foray into the hipster-y depths of http://Groupon.com. Dr. Lasota was awesome. The guy looks practically 70 and has the hands of a...a very gentle, very experienced dentist. Yeah, actually-- I should be yelping LLM Dental. Nevermind. Groupon is still awesome, in case you were wondering.
