I'm giving this place 5 stars because of the great prices and the friendly cashiers. My only complaint is that you really have to check the expiration date of the
Items. Because sometimes its only a few
Days away. Especially on the small Tony's pizzas microwaveable items those on 3 occasions have been almost 2 weeks past expiration and they are still there. I told 2 employees about it and they did nothing.
They get a lot of the as seen on tv stuff and I can buy it for 10.00 instead of 20.00 so that's cool
I am headed there today to pick up a few thing to make candied sushi if you don't know what that is watch epic meal time on YouTube -

Totally fun place to shop. They buy closeouts and seconds so you never know what you'll find. I go there to buy name brand butter at half the price. I do a lot of baking and cooking so I just buy enough to last a while and freeze it.
The prices are really low if you're a bargain shopper but watch the expiration dates, check the ingredients and if you see something you like buy enough in case they never have it again. I bought some smoked salmon in shrink wrap for about 25% of retail and put it in the freezer.
The cashiers are really nice too. It's a funny place actually. You'll find folks from affluent Atherton to Redwood City and beyond. -

I have been there a few times, and was very impressed today by all the organic and eco-friendly products they are carrying. One drawback is that their selection is always changing, I guess because of the whole "outlet" thing...it depends on whatever is in excess. Even so, I recommend checking it out!
Some things I saw today:
-Amy's frozen food (organic, vegetarian); soemtimes they carry the canned soups and refried beans
-Nature's Gate lotion, shampoo, conditioner
-crystal deodorant I last bought at Country Sun Natural Foods in Palo Alto (Only $2.99 here and they had two different scents!)
-some organic fresh produce
-lots of organic frozen and canned produce
-organic agave and maple syrup
-soy milk and yogurt (they also had a space for coconut milk in the dairy section, but it was empty)
-seventh generation paper towels and toilet paper
-coconut water sorbet (mango and hyacinth flavors)
I also like that it's not huge and you don't have to have a membership or anything.
Worth checking out in my opinion! :)
Minus one star because of the inconsistency of the products, and because they don't stock everything I would want (i.e. fair trade organic coffee). -

We've got teenage kids and their friends eat over a lot since we're the house closest to the high school or maybe it's because we've got Guitar Hero? Who knows -- but between our kids and their friends they eat A LOT of food, especially cereal, milk and pasta. Grocery Outlet helps us feed everyone without going broke.
They've got just about everything you can find in a regular grocery store but for much less. They've started carrying more gluten free, organic, no MSG, etc. options. They have an amazing assortment of breads even more European ones like pumpernickel and dark rye. You have to be willing to try brands that aren't your usual brands. Also you might find a product that you love and when you come back to buy more it's gone and you might never see it again. The produce isn't great. I find better deals at local produce markets. On occasion I've found some expensive toiletry items that my daughter likes and I've bought six bottles at a time because I know I'll never find it for less anywhere else.
The manager is a very nice guy. I once drove all the way from Los Altos and forgot my wallet. I had a checkbook and an auto deposit paycheck and he accepted that as ID. This was many years ago, so I don't know if he'd still accept that kind of ID.
This is also a great place for singles or couples with no kids since you don't have to buy in bulk to save as you do at Costco.
My husband is the youngest of nine kids and if I entertain his family we can count on 35-40 people for Thanksgiving or Christmas. Even though we do a potluck, shopping at Grocery Outlet has helped control food costs for these big dinners over the years.
I love Grocery Outlet!Listed in: 'Tis the Season, Frugal Finds

I come here regularly. They have a good selection of earth friendly products. The prices are low and I like the place is definitely popular with the locals. Plus I have met the owner, a good man delivering good customer service. He helped out by donating to our charity.

Big items, small prices, and a medium for bargain buys!
The Clutzy Ninja has never stumbled upon unbelievable deals more than at Grocery Outlet. I discovered this store in the late 90s. When I shopped there regularly, I saved on average $150 to $200 each month. Times that by 12 and that's a huge chunk in the bank or a decent vacation!
This is where off-brands and seasonal specialties come to rest. Here, you can enjoy eggnog ice cream in April and beach toys in November. Anytime a company redesigns their packaging, discontinues a product line, goes out of business or has a lot of overstock, their goods come here to be discovered by frugal buyers like me and maybe you. From Kitchen Aid pots, Sunbeam mixers to Pomi Italian brand tomatoes, this place is worth a look.
The bad: well, it's not glamorous and it's not always fresh. Ew? Maybe, but if you're out to save some money, sometimes you have to sift through 8 bags of onions with mold on them to find that 1 gloriously cheap bag that's still good. (Yes, that was me.) And you might have to skirt around that random person who seems to be having an in-depth conversation with an invisible friend named Chuck, or was that Two Buck Chuck? As you pull out of the parking lot and notice a few really nice cars being filled with discount wine, you'll come to the realization that I have...no matter where we are in life's social spectrum, good savings IS good savings!
My biggest critique besides less mold please, is that they use 1 plastic bag for 3 or 4 items at the most. My bad for not bringing my own reusable ones, but I came home this week with 15 little yellow bags!

It's a great place to shop with great deals and super cheap! Deff my number one place if I need a wide load of groceries and for cheap! Only thing is when they ring up your stuff they tend to just throw your stuff also with putting it in the bag and into your cart,I know that there is less fortunate people with disabilities working there but I'm not speaking about them I'm speaking about the ones that don't have a disability just be careful when putting my groceries away please!:)

More than just dented cans. Yes, there are bargains but....it's still kinda creepy. Sorry. Crowded and some of the other shoppers smelled like cigarette smoke! Now that's something you can't get just anywhere in Silicon Valley.
My last trip here was at least five years ago, but my friend from Woodside (!) was praising the wine department the other day, so I made the trip. Also, my grandmother use to go here when she lived in government subsidized housing just down the street (I think a lot of people walk here from nearby downtown Redwood City).
Refusing to buy "nitrates", as the other reviewer said.....here's what I found. Yes, I saw the Nutella, but that stuff is deadly fattening.
Healthy items:
Cuties bag for $2.99
21/2 lbs. Fuji apples $2.99
Vitals whole wheat bread $2.19 (the real thing..loaf weighs a ton)
16 oz. Brown Cow Greek Yogurt 0% $1.49
Whole Wheat pita $1.39
Fresh cilantro 50 cents
Didn't have time to check out the wine or meat departments today. Will review again. Of course, my son won't eat any of it once he sees this review. -

IF A TEENAGER WENT SHOPPING TO THIS PLACE, ALWAYS EXPECT THE EXPECTED.
I was carrying a backpack In a hurry to shop in Grocery Outlet in redwood city, Once I got inside and started going to my destination I heard In the intercom "SECURITY WE HAVE CODE 401" I dont know what that is or if that was how it was said but I was the only one that was in there. and the only one thaT got in. so my intuition was not even wrong. they accused me of stealing. i was done in 5 minutes. i went to pay the item to the one that called the service. It was the Heavy Weight Caucasian Man with glasses.
My intuition was right, alright. he stared me down. looked at me like i was a criminal. That was not right. that was not fair. He was not in the position and has no proof.

Give it a try!
Some of my favorite things to get here are:
Cereal for around $2.50
Nutella for $2.99
Ben & Jerry's for $1.99
Foster Farms chicken breast tenders frozen bag $5.99
You can also find bread, cheese, shampoo, toothpaste, roses, and then there is of course, the section I like to call "nitrates." I skip that. But you find some real gems here.
Just leave some nutella for me. -

I randomly entered Grocery Outlet looking for Avatar Bay to Breakers costume items since I was too lazy to drive to Target after dinner... I didn't find anything for my costume but was very impressed with the cheap prices on everything and the fact that the store seemed pretty clean and organized...
I ended up spending $12 and purchasing:
- (2) bottles of blue Powerade (closest I could get to Avatar-related)
- pack of ladies tri-blade razors
- Dove deodorant
- new soft blanket for Ruggles (though he immediately wanted his old one back when I gave it to him)
- pack of M & M's
Thanks Grocery Outlet for having fun, useful, cheap things for me to buy!Listed in: Thrifty (Bay Area) Stores!

I've been going here my entire life, and it never fails to provide lower prices for regular items you find at any other grocery store. It's no Whole Foods, but it also doesn't sell gallons of milk for ten dollars. I love Grocery Outlet and will never stop coming here!

It's like the Ross of grocery stores! Stuff is so cheap it's almost free.
We went down each and every one of their aisles twice, hunting down strange and interesting foods to try. They have more random organic stuff than Safeway, but at Big Lots type prices. Lots of foreign imports too. Random premium foods marked waaaay down so we could afford to try them and not be bothered if the product disappoints. Of course, the expiration date is probably tomorrow or something, so you gotta use it quick.
Definitely recommended for foodie treasure hunting. -

I like that Grocery Outlet carries some organic items though not a lot. It would be nice if they carried organic fruits. I still think you'll find the items cheaper at bulk at a Costco or very close to. There are certain items like carrots and potatoes where I can find cheaper at an Asian market. They carry some healthier chips but I don't think it's really cheaper than buying similar chips at a Trader Joes. I think you can find similar prices as well at Safeway or Lucky's when items are on sale. They carried a 4 pack of temptations cat treats for $3.99 and a small bottle of pure vanilla extract for $1.49. They also carry cheap non-brand name bottled spices for 99 cents. Apparently their stock comes and goes and changes so you may not know what you'll find next. I guess what I'm saying is go if you're in the area but otherwise it's not worth driving all the way out here.

I have a super guilty conscience that I really need to lose. I cannot allow myself to use a business' bathroom unless I at least "pretend" to be a customer and I am always scared of getting my car towed unless I am actually a customer. (Ex: Oakland's Kragen tows offending Parkway patrons all the time). It's like I'm Catholic or something. (I'm Agnostic.) Because I was running late for a seminar at UC Extension, I resorted to parking here because there was nothing available on the street. Feeling guilty about it, I shopped there after the seminar closed.
I've had to make a few "lifestyle adjustments" since losing my job. a) Not going out as much unless someone pays. b) Only eating meals out for networking purposes or if someone pays. *preens hair and bats eyelashes* c) Not drinking unless someone (or Yelp) pays. d) Becoming an "economical vegetarian" http://www.urbandictio... ....long story short, I am eating like I did back in college...well, the meals are more balanced and I am eating more fresh produce...you get the picture
As such, imagine how fun it is to shop at "The Ross of Grocery Stores." Much like Ross, you need to have an open mind because you may not find exactly what you want. Much like Ross, non-perishables may be from last season or so. (You know, Halloween cereal...) Much like Ross, there may be a lot of reject/disontinued products. (One of my friends had peanut butter in French...THIS WAS LONG BEFORE THE SALMONELLA SCARE! SHE'S FINE!) You get the idea...because, much like Ross, if you are patient and open-minded, a good deal is to be found.
Therefore, for under $10, I walked out with ~20 servings of the jarred spaghetti sauce and two bags of the shitty Malt-o-Meal cereal that I lived on in college. Not healthy, "adult" cereal such as Toasty Oatie O's or whatever. Cinnamon Squares. That's right. Who's cool now?
That's not why I award the five stars though. The organization of the store is hilarious. On the wall-of-anything-that-is-not-food, the knock-off brand of KY lube is right next to the nail polish. Look, I don't know what kinky business you crazy Peninsula folks are into! I'm not judging or anything. I'm just not playing! -

Oh, I lurve Grocery Outlet! When I first moved to Redwood City I was like "dented can store...ick", but since I walk by it all the time I was eventually lured inside.
The store is very cool. It's a great place to go before you do your "regular" grocery shopping, because you never know what you'll find. I was especially surprised by the amount of vegetarian and organic foods they have.
The wine selection contains some real gems sometimes, and the guy who stocks the wine is very friendly and keeps tabs on what regulars like or think is especially good and will let you know aprox how long they will be carrying a particular wine (so if you liked it, you'll know when to start stockpiling it.) Who ever heard of a dented can store where they can help you pick a nice wine? Hmmm...very californian. They also have random other liquors...lately they've had a lot of malt beverages with caffeine in them. Caffeine and alcohol...together. Woohoo!
They have an interesting and ever-changing cheese selection, and usually have soy milk. I've had very good luck with their produce and there are some brands of breads that they consistently have in stock, including Vital Vittles.
Recent bargains I've found there include: Haagan Dazs for $1.49 a pint (actually, the store might be better if it didn't sell me premium ice cream at bargain prices) Clif bars for $.50 each (still three months left until expiration date, and some of them are the seasonal flavors that aren't available anywhere else right now) and premium body lotions and shower gels that you will pay a fortune for at Whole Foods. The better you are at The Price Is Right, the better off you will be in this store. Luckily for me, wandering around stores reading labels and checking out what they have is a hobby of mine.
One cool thing I've noticed is that most of the employees I see there now are the same people that were there two years ago...and they usually seem pretty happy. The people who shop here seem nice and friendly, too. I have had more people insist I go ahead of them at the checkout counter if I only have a few items at this store than any other store.
Here is the type of problem you run into with this place:
I found Bear Naked oatmeal there for $.99 a box. This stuff was really tasty, it could make an oatmeal lover out of most anyone. I even got my bf to switch brands of oatmeal after eating the same kind for about 20 years. I had about six boxes in two different flavors and then I went back to get more and it was gone! So, I went to the Bear Naked website and looked for it...it wasn't listed there. I contacted Bear Naked to ask them about it, and they told me they stopped making it because it didn't sell well enough and customer feedback told them the reason was because the price point (I think regular retail was like, $4.99 a box) was too high, and yet they were unable to price it lower without sacrificing quality.
Personally, once I tried it I'd have been happy to pay $4.99 a box for it, but whatever...the point is, I found something I really liked at Grocery Outlet and then after a few months not only did they not have it any more but the reason it was there in the first place is because it was overstock direct from Bear Naked, who weren't even making it any more. Just don't get too attached to anything you find at this store.Listed in: Redwood City

First thing I noticed walking in here was the cheap booze near the front. Good bottles of wine for $3? Hell yeah!
After perusing the candy/chip aisles with Thanksgiving/Valentine themed treats and monster bags of potato chips, struck gold in the spices section. Got some tall (about 3 oz.) bottles of steak spice, ground ginger and crushed chili peppers for $1 each. Scored some Jamaican jerk seasoning for 50 cents and grounded allspice for 59 cents (which was retail, actually).
Since I eat mostly unprocessed and organic foods, I didn't focus too much on the produce, refrigerated or frozen foods in the store, which seemed to be mostly conventionally grown or made. Did see some great deals, like whole ginger that would normally go for at least $4 for 99 cents, family size packs of frozen lasagna, tons of stuff. Did notice some Naked Juice, though, for $1 a bottle, which is a steal. I must note they did have some frozen organic stuff, like Amy's pizzas and other frozen dinners.
I was very surprised to find such a wide variety of natural/organic household and beauty products here. Scored some Method products (laundry detergent, cleaning wipes and soap), a big bottle of Nature's Gate lotion for $3 (originally $10) and stocked up on some Tom's toothpaste. I never would've bought this stuff for full price at Whole Foods or Target, so it was so nice to be able to try some of these products out for cheap.
I didn't plan on buying anything here, but walked out with about $23 worth of stuff...which normally would've been $50 total (according to my receipt). Definitely would come back if I just want to see what else pops up on the shelves, or if I'm planning a big bash and need wine and snacks for cheap.
Btw, for some reason, there doesn't seem to be a street sign at the Broadway/Woodside intersection when you get off 101, which was confusing and caused us to overshoot our turn when we were looking for this place. It's on the same street at the Smart and Final, so just make a right at the intersection when you see S&F and you should be fine. -

I am hearting this place, they even sell some organic beauty care, lotions, shampoos, toothpaste, Tom's of Maine, Jason, etc...even cheaper then bulk that I find locally at my organic stores and online. I would say 1/2 off.
Some of the fruits and veggies look tired and definately check the dates on the refridgerated section.
Found Best foods mayo, in May and expiration in July, so if you eat a lot, not prob on the expiration date.
Spent $40 and saved $33.
Two parking lots, busy on the weekends. -

OMG. I love this place.
The first time I went here, I think I was in there for more than an hour looking at everything. This place is awesome if you are planning on having a party and want to buy some snacks, sweets and booze. I also like coming here, because they do have a good selection of cheeses and dairy items if you plan on consuming them right away for cheap (most stuff in the refrigerated aisle expires within a week or a month depending on what you get...stuff closer to expiration is even cheaper)
They also have a great selection of personal care items, soaps, shampoos, moisturizers, etc.
So far the best deal I've found here that really surprised me was Kiehl's shampoo and conditioner for $8.99! (normally $30+ for a bottle at their store!) -

We usually go to shop the wine aisles but inevitably come out with many more items. It's easy to get some low end wines, but if you know your vintages and appellations, you can pick up some wonderful bargains. We have purchased wines here for $1.99 and seen them "drastically reduced" at Lunardi's for $6.99. We have been conditioned to think that anything above $4.99 is expensive in this store...when was the last time you got a drinkable bottle in any other retail store for this price? Make sure you take note of vintages on white wines; they may be old and tired, but many are current vintages that represent tremendous value. We bought a $22 bottle that we got on the Sunset Wine Club for $7.99 here!
$1.00 for items such as DiCecco pasta (oddball shapes, but completely first quality) Name brand Cereals and juices is not uncommon.
Good coffee prices too.
Check the deli area as well; nice cheeses and cold cuts for wonderful prices. -

I will make this short and sweet.
Grocery Outlet is severy Food Addict's dream. Grocery Outlet holds the title of Bingeing On A Budget, please change the name to Budget Binge!!! This place tops Foods Co, Big Lots cheapo food aisles and even the rare Dollar Store finds. Expect to spend a long time in this store... Be prepared to tteat it like you would a zoo because that is what you are in for. You will be here long time, you will love it long time! Do not come with a shopping list. Come open minded and open handed. You will NOT leave empty handed.
You will find ANYTHING and EVERYTHING here to your greedy hungry heart's desire at DIRT CHEAP PRICES. You will leave satisfied, so satified that you might break into your groceries once you get into your car and start cramming your cakehole... the experienced to this in the store while shopping. Don't tell me you haven't seen them, walking up the aisle stuffing food in their face while shopping. Hey, you know when you gotta go you gotta go? Well, when you gotta cram and jam you gotta cram and jam.
Go here just don't hog it all because when it's gone it's gone and you might not see it here again. This store is constantly bringing in new items, selling them and then replacing the shelves with other items from here to Timbucktwo. I don't know where they get all this stuff but I don't care - as long as it stocks up my shopping carts.
Just go here already. -

If you like bargain hunting, and trying new food/drinks, you should check this out.
You probably usually can't get everything that's on your grocery list, but there are a lot of great deals, and everytime I stop in there seems to be something new. (Well, I mean new to me, some of it might be outlet stuff that was tried in some market already & might never be seen again.)
Even things that are common place are bottom dollar (like the blue rhino propane exchange which was $19 while my local 76 is charging $24).
It's not pretty like newly renovated stores, but it's clean & well maintained. The only people I've dealt with were cashiers, but they've been consistently fast & friendly... friendly in that real sorta down to earth sorta way, not the overly sweet fake kinda way. Don't get me wrong, any friendly is cool, but I appreciate this even more.
Unlike some other discount stores, they take credit, have bags, etc. Expect a mix of patrons, and be patient with the older folks (& with me as I'm slowly trolling down the aisle checking everything out). -
Review from Cheryl D.
I was in the area taking care of a traffic ticket and G. said some great things about the place - so I went. I wish I was going home after, because I wouldv'e def picked up more stuff.
The snacks and drinks are cheap! - Chips and Cheese Crunchies for 99c - 6-pack of bottled soda for under $3. Welches juices - 2.50 - SoCo with shaker set $13. Graham crackers - $2something, random energy drinks 99c.
There is a whole catch-all section of random clothing, beauty products.
Overall if I were more familiar with the store I'd be sure its a great deal. I would return - if I had more time and if I had munchies. -

I'd avoided this place because I thought it would be low-end warehouse-like products I would never want to buy. But we had an hour to kill while waiting for a movie to start (down the street at Century 20), and strolled on in. I was very pleasantly surprised to find a great selection of products, including a whole aisle of organic canned & packaged goods.
As some others have said, you definitely couldn't do your shopping there, but as this company says "shop there first", as they always are changing stock--whatever they are able to get but really great prices on that! Much more pleasant (and even fun) shopping experience than I expected! -

I love a good bargain AND I love good food.
This is not the place to shop for staples or to get something specific.
However, it is a GREAT place to get super cheap groceries......from beer/wine...to eggs/butter/milk/cheese (now even some of the "nicer" cheeses)....to canned foods (in fact, this place used to be called the Canned Food Store).
This place even has beauty and cleaning supplies.
Always a bargain, but it is a shopping experience. You must walk through all aisles and look at all the products available to get the best deals. -

I have an obscene number of bath/beauty products, and it's all grocery outlet's fault. I've gotten Neutrogena, J&J, KMS, Paul Mitchell, got2b, Aveeno... lots of name brand and salon stuff at 2-3 bucks a pop. It's so worth it to try stuff, but just beware, you might end up like me with an addiction to their shampoo aisle.
Actual groceries, however, I'd use caution with. I think the only food item I bought here was packaged oatmeal, and it was fine. -
Review from Terika B.
San Francisco, CA
This place is next door to my work, and I get lunch items and work snacks here. This place has a fine and unusual selection of microwavables as well as bag snacks. I've gotten good Annie's Organic frozen meals - pretty yummy. Because this stuff seems like the temporary release products, there is a lot of weird stuff on the shelves for cheap. The biggest thing this place has going for it is that it's Cheapie McCheapenstein. The staff are not necessarily helpful or knowledgeable, but I'll take cheap and dumb for the things I'm buying here.
Cheap, and somewhat not useful cleaning supplies. The foodie and I have a couple joke about LA's Totally Awesome cleaning products. I don't think of LA as clean, or totally awesome, but apparently it's a marketing pitch that someone thought was a good idea. -

3.5 stars - you can find some really fantastic deals here on just about anything. Inventory changes all the time so either frequent this place often or see how lucky you are.
We have found some good wine and beer at great prices. Pasta, snacks, frozen dinner...anything ane everything.
Come to think of it, I need to go shopping and see what I can score! -

Just discovered this place through Yelp, just like any other places. Heard it is cheap, and yes, the reviewers were right. And the good thing about it is that it is not that far from where I live unlike Trader Joe's and Safeway, which are both a few miles farther. The only thing that is missing is that they do not have a lot of vegetables and fruits, but whatever they have are very reasonable. And if you like wine, beer and hard drinks, they are pretty reasonable too. Definitely I got more for my buck over here than in Safeway. And the cashier who served me was really nice and even told me the history about the place that this grocery has been there like forever ( I forgot since when). So to make the long story short, I will definitely be coming back here.

Who knew??? I had driven by this spot a number of times, yet never thought to go in, as the words outlet and grocery; I have never put in the same sentence. Not to be a shit, but I'm a Safeway, veggie stand Trader Joe's kinda girl.
What a pleasant surprise. I went here on a Saturday afternoon with my guy and wow!! There was stuff. Good stuff, nice looking veggies and a pretty large meat and poultry section. I was thrown a bit by all the 'stuff' as in cookies, candy, sweets. That was all very up close and personal. Not my speed, but this is for sure a bang for your buck kind of place.
If you want to shave down your grocery bill, I would recommend giving this place a shot. You may need to stop at another shop for supplement items they may not have, but the basics are covered. -

yeah they have good cheap items, but it is hit or miss,as the popular and name brand items go fast, therefore I go early and every week... unfortunately the shopping carts are few on crowded days and old,but I do like the deals and sometimes the same exact stuff selling at Safeway and/or Whole Foods for a few $ more, which can be bought here for a couple $ lesser.. I have hooked up a few of my friends and now they shop here for some of their groceries.. Kiwi loves her doggy treats tooo...
The staff is friendly and helpful, most of the time, unless it is super busy. -

I have to admit that I cannot pass up a bargain and I only chanced upon this place as my bro wanted to go to downtown RWC to check out the new plaza. Yes, I know it is not new but we don't venture out into the Peninsula if it isn't Hillsdale, Stanford, or located near a Target or TJs.
One caution, be sure and read the labels as I found plenty of things I wanted to purchase which were expired. Damn expiration dates otherwise this would have been a five star joint. I'm coming here if I need food for parties because the prices are unbelievable and there are bargains galore.
Also, they have these neat cash registers where the till pops open instead of shooting out. You'll have to check it out for yourself in order to understand what I'm talking about. I joked with the cashier if it's ever gotten stuck. He just smiled. -

This is a great, fun store. Wish I knew about this place when I was in college and living in poverty(redundant?). I spent an hour just looking through everything. Just about everything except the meat/poultry is cheap. The real catch is the items have a much shorter shelf life so you'll have to consume the food (except if frozen) within the week you bring it home. They do have brand names, but watch out for expiration dates and some irregularities(misspelling, upside down labels, etc) in the packaging. Employees are friendly and helpful.

This location of Grocery Outlet seems to mirror the stock of the Williams Road, San José store. I was able to come away with a good set of items such as frozen vegetarian meals, lunch items such as chili and soup in disposable bowls, other miscellaneous snacks, as well as a bottle of wine, all in all nearly 20 items for only $25 and some change! Now _that's_ the reason I really like Grocery Outlet!!
Listed in: Great grocery…

Love G.O. as my cheap friends and I call it. The best deals ever. You can find some great wines insanely cheap (my friends know their wine and swear by this place)...even if you don't know wine, most are so cheap you don't feel bad if you get a dud. Great buys on toiletry stuff, some grocery items high end and very cheap...and the random aisle of stuff where I always seem to drop $10 each time I go--cool serving bowls, christmas light hanging kit (which saved the day, btw), enourmous squeegee for $8 which would be at least $20 at Home Depot...and so on. Sometimes the clientel is a little sketch, probably due to the Sequoia hotel across the street...hey you got to get your cheap booze somewhere!

Great place to get some really cheap food.
In particular the deal on eggs is amazing: you can get a box of FIVE DOZEN eggs (i.e., 60) for $3.99. I've been living on eggs for pennies a day ever since discovering this.
Another awesome deal I keep coming back for: 750ml bottles of a particular nice Belgian ale for $2.99. I have seen this same ale at upscale liquor stores for $8 - $9 per bottle; I have no idea how grocery outlet gets it so cheap.
If you are very particular about the foods you shop for and eat, then there probably isn't enough selection here to find everything you want.
If you are like me and just go to the grocery store when you think "I'm low on food!" and have nothing more specific in mind, then this is perfect. -

Great bargains for grocery items, amazing deals in fact. A huge can of peaches for $0.99, Brie for $3.29 for a huge cut, Ricola sweets for $0.79, Dannon Plain Yoghurt activa plan drink 4 bottles for $.50 or two crates for $1!!! Unbelievable deals, fresh items and clean store.
