Outstanding Margaritas, incredible Tex-Mex food, Hacienda decor, and familial service are the ingredients that make this restaurant one of our family favorites in the area.
Even if we have to wait on the carved wooden benches outside, we enjoy drinking our drinks or eating the free soft serve ice cream cones that seem to be a standard appetizer for this place. We always run into school acquaintances, neighbors and friends while we listen for our name to be called for our table.
Once seated, the service is generally attentive and accurate. ( We did have some problems once on New Years Day, but it was late in the evening. Everyone looked like they had served the whole city of Pearland that day.) They make sure your table has fresh tortilla chips with cream green and red salsa to keep you busy while you wait for your food and drink.
So far they have the best Margaritas I have tasted in this area. You can taste the tequila and the juice in a flavorful balance that makes your taste buds crave for more. Make sure you bring a designated driver with you because these drinks are strong.
Start with the southwest egg rolls. Be careful not to sit with food hoarders because they are difficult to share. They make a great dinner for one as well.
My passion is their Tortilla Soup. They give me the fresh chopped garnishes and slice tortillas to add to it so nothing is soggy. Avocado is extra, but worth it.
My youngest daughter craves the Chicken Chimichanga. We try not to watch her dive into the luscious dish because she seems to devour it in a savage fashion. Cheese, chicken and rice explode from her place. She smiles with joy as she licks it from her coated fingers.
My middle daughter loves the Chicken Taquitos. They are neat, easy to eat and have no messy sauce inside them. They are great for dipping in a salsa, but she likes them plan.
My husband generally orders one of their salads. It is always a perfect blend of meat, avocado, vegetables and dressing. He thinks it is healthy and low calorie. The serving portion is enough for two people. He is only one person.
We are always so full with our meal, that we never get around to dessert. After a hectic week, this place is a celebration of life. It lets us have a conversation with our family and friends.
I love this place!!! They always have the juciest fajitas, the best salsa, and wonderful margaritas. For non-drinkers (or DDs) there's also some wondedul citrus tea that's a blend of orange juice, lemonade, and tea. I highly recommend this place as the best Tex-Mex around.
Nice restaurant, lovely patio, but the food is not that great! Just your average tex-mex fake mexican food! Margaritas are outstanding if you like the cheap tequila! Great place for happy hour!
Aside from the chips and creamy green salsa, this place is Yuckville, USA.
I came here Sunday morning hoping they'd have a killer Tex-Mex breakfast or brunch menu. Did they? Nope. I was sad. So sad I had to order two--not one--bloody marys for fulfill this absence.
After filling up on our order of queso, my gf and I split a plate: the Plato Mariachi. Two chicken enchiladas, two southwestern egg rolls, two empanadas (what the menu described as "Mexican hot pockets"), rice and a side of boracho beans.
I'm not sure what all the buzz is about, but this place was not to my liking. I did, however, enjoy our sweet waitress Ashley who seemed to know the menu pretty well. I should have followed her suggestion and order the hamburger. Yes, a burger.
Now here's a location that I can get behind! As I stated in my last review of Gringos, this food is a 5. It's some of the best Tex Mex I've ever had and it's a frequent visit when I'm in town.
The wait at this location is a little longer than others because of its popularity but its well worth it if you want some of the best Tex Mex in town.
Aaah, Gringo's...a safe haven for drinks/margs/beer, ANYTHING to get out of the in-laws' house! when we must go visit, this is the only memory I have of tasty food in Pearland. I find it funny there is more than one in Houston now, but maybe there are more people like me that need an escape :)
Food is pretty good, they even offer good tortilla soup/salads if you want "healthy" tex-mex. I am not surprised Gringo's has done so well. they never disappoint.
This place was my first job when it had a gravel parking lot for it's employees. This is Pearland's best mexican food. When this place gets packed even on a week day, you know it's good food. The atmosphere is great, the food is deelish, the silver star margarita will knock your socks off. What more can you ask for?
Yummy.
Great salsa, great tamales, great everything.
