I'm only in Miami Beach for a few days, so I tiurned to yelp miami beach to help me pick out the best restaurants.  Grillfish was highly recommended, so we gave it a try last night, taking many of the dish suggestions of yelpers and we had a great time.

The grillfish cakes, redsnapper, wahoo, and mojitos were all delicious.  The sweet onion sauce, served as a side for the dish was really great.  The service was really excellent -- our server was very friendly and knowledgeable.

I only wish i had noticed that my hotel had 15% off coupons for grillfish BEFORE we went and spent $100 there (for two, with drinks)..

I was pretty disappointed by my recent meal at Grillfish.  With the abundance of fresh seafood available down here, you'd think places that specialize in serving fish & the like would have daily specials to make the best of the local fresh catch. Alas, such was not the case at Grillfish.

While they have a decent selection of fish on their menu, the night I dined there, they were out of good portion of them.  We tried to order the wahoo, but were told it wasn't available.  And this I also found strange, since our server told us that it "wasn't available" rather than saying they'd run out or something along those lines.

We opted for the mahi-mahi, which we got blackened, as per our server's recommendation.  It was good & flaky, but a little dry, and pretty bland.  It was served with some kind of dipping sauce, but it didn't really do anything for the fish.  We also ordered the monkfish picata, which was a mistake.  My friend was a fan of monkfish (he called it the "poor man's lobster") and a fan of chicken picata, so we opted to give it a go.  Rest assured, picata is a sauce meant for chicken.  We also started out with the Grillfish cake appetizer -  like a crab cake, but with fish instead.  It was one of the best things about our meal.

The other best thing about our meal was the yummy mojitos the bartender whipped up while we waited for our table.

The place was quite crowded when I ate there (which was around 9pm on a Sunday), so maybe all these people know something I don't...  Either way, there are definitely other more reasonably priced & more delicious fresh seafood restaurants in this city.

We eat here every time we are in Miami.  It's expensive but the service is fabulous and the atmosphere is great.  Beautiful high ceilings, gothic wall mural, and great bar.  The bartenders are especially nice and the owner is very friendly.

The mussels in the spicy tomato sauce are the best mussels EVER.  That sauce is so good, last time I was there, I ordered a side of it straight.  For an entree, the grilled Tuna with linguine, and you guessed it, red sauce, and some grilled corn on the cob is the way to go.

I love Grillfish.

Grillfish used to be good when fresh seafood was kind of hard to find.  That was ten years ago.  But now, with chains like McCormick and Shmucks, we have seen that the bar has been raised considerably.  It is time for the owners of this place to join in the fun.  Your fresh options need to be more diverse, you should try and find some more local, right out of the water fare and the corn on the cob is kind of just a pain in the ass if it isn't perfect.  The concept of fresh, grilled fish will always be perfect but the real details are in the execution and quality of the product.  The last two times I've been here did not really demonstrate to me that this place is too concerned anymore with these details.

Service was fantastic.  We requested calamari the minute we sat down because one of us was hungry.  It came out in less than 5 minutes.  I had the wahoo which was very good, though not the best fish I had.  But overall a good experience.

Love this place.  Went with a large group and the service was excellent.  Great location for a pre-party dinner & reasonable prices for the quality of food and atmosphere.  The salmon is delicious!  Judging by the other reviews, I'll enjoy many of their entrees.  I'll have to kick the habit of ordering the same thing every time!

The fish at this restaurant was wonderful. My wife had the Red Snapper  and I had Scallops Marinara over Pasta. According to my wife, her salad with goat cheese and and pecans was one of the best in SOBE. Their bowl of bostom clam chowder had enough clams for two. For dessert, the brownie sundae with pecans, hot fudge and carmel was better than the key lime pie. Some of the fish dishes were served right in the metal frying pan with t...I had never seen that before.

The dinning room is that large so I would recommend getting reservations. There's a attached that share the same restroooms, Crust Grilled Pizza but it's definetely no food court.

For parking, it's a short walk on Washington Blvd. from Lincoln Road or you can park in one of the 16th St. garages. I like the one on the South side since it's owned by the city and about $6.

This is a REPEAT!

Nice dining spot to grab some fine fare before hitting South Beach!  Met up with some old school buddies here and got to catch up over vino and victuals.  The apps were good... fat salmon cakes and fresh shrimp spring rolls.  Our table ordered an array of menu items from and seemed content.  I had the mussels in garlic & wine, which I thought was a little weak, but my bud ordered the ahi tuna in peppercorn special and it was superb.  The decor was cool with large windows looking out onto crowded Collins Ave, candle-lit tables, and sea-themed murals featuring Triton and other mythological creatures.  Reasonably priced while still upscale, Grillfish set the tone for a great night.

Grillfish rules.  Surprising how hard it is to find good seafood in Miami, a city along the water!  But Grillfish excels in flavor and creative style.  Be ready to be a repeat customer.
