Came here because every other restaurant we tried in the area was super crowded.

The restaurant area was pretty small and crowded. The waitstaff was slow and took forever getting our table. My friend had to wait for twenty minutes and ask three times for a crab cracker.

All the food I tried was great, my favorite was a salad with a ton of  crab, spring mix, red onion, fresh tomatoes, and mozzarella. No one at my table had complaints about the food.

Prices were super fair when you considered how much food you receive.

The night I went they had blue moon beer and mussels on special, it seems like every night there is some sort of special to be had.

Not sure what happened....last few times here I had a blast.
(maybe the amount of time spent drinking before getting here?)

I used to praise the wings, always said they were better than Charlies.
They've changed.  Breaded, not crispy at all, somewhat sloppy.
French fries had that awful coating, the snapper soup was completely bland; no flavor at all.

    The beer tasted good?.

I really, really miss Gregory's. It's my favorite bar back home (er, back where I grew up).

I miss their she-crab soup. I miss Taco Tuesdays (and Thursdays). I miss the folks you run into there. It's not that Gregory's is an exceptional bar. But it's my bar of choice in Somers Point. It's nicer/cleaner than Charlies, Carolines, The Pearl, or Maynards, and the food is better.

This review is getting too wistful. I need a drink (and a cheap taco)!

If you like loud drunks, unimaginative beer, and shitty bar food, this is the place for you! Only reason for the second star was because of the nice server who felt bad that she had to serve substandard food and no beer better than Stella.
And Beth? No offense but if you ate 1.5 lb lobster, corn, a potato, and whatever else, why would you have a hard time believing you'd be stuffed?

As far as local bars go in the Somers Point area Greg's is an awesome place.

The food is unbelieveable for a bar.  I'd probably attribute this to the fact that they have a full service restaurant attached.

    Beer:
Wow - Greg's has one of the best taps I've ever had.  I mean seriously a Coors Light tastes sweet and clean.  Perfect carbonation.  Regular selection of domestics on tap.  Really $1 drafts - except on taco days when they have bucket mini-coronas.

    Food:
Get the sampler and let ME know what you think.  Wings are superb.  The blue cheese is hit with some garlic and is absolutely delicious.  If you can get them on the right day and time the bar has free pizza, and garlic knots that I crave.

    Bartenders:
Nice friendly guys who are willing to chat it up with the locals.

    Decor:
Pretty standard main bar area with a pay jukebox and table seating.  Nice cozy fireplace in the back with tables as well.

    Value:
A++ seriously $1 beers and GOOD cheap daily specials.  Free garlic knots and pizza???

Check this place out during happy hour whether ur on vacation or just
passing thru u will not be dissappointed!!
$$ on value as other non-beer items are a bit more.

We were craving seafood this weekend, but in the mood for somewhere casual.  Gregory's ended up being a perfect choice.

There were several things on the menu that I had a hard time choosing between, but I eventually settled on the 1.5 pound lobster.  Not only was it delish, but it came with tons of sides (salad, baked potato, corn on the cob), and I was unbelievably stuffed at the end of the meal.  My date's softshell crab was also tasy, and a large portion of food.

Wines by the glass were reasonably priced, and good.

I would definitely come back here again.

Every year I try to make it to Gregory's during Bay Fest and since last year I had to skip Bay Fest I was excited to reunite. There is a parking lot across the street and is one block from the bars/ocean area.

Gregory's is great in every way possible for my annual festival day drinking. You want a beer or mixed drink? You'll get it fast. You want decent food without a long wait? Perfect spot. Prefer outdoor seating? They have a private area and get this, it's tiki-syle--fun! Two cons: Long bathroom wait and not enough seating for the outside area (first come, first serve in this bar).

FOOD: I ordered a crab sandwich and it was out within 10 minutes. That's pretty good considering it was super busy. The crab cake was a lump and claw mixture with less filler compared to other bar joints. The roll tasted like a fresh grocery-bought bread. The coleslaw was fresh and not watery. The french fries were not my thing at all (I don't like fries to begin with though). They had an oily taste so my friend ate them for me instead. At least she liked them.

I didn't eat my crab cake as a sandwich because I really only wanted the cake. It was cheaper as a sandwich than just as a crab cake ; with tax and tip it was $11 for the platter.

You can't go wrong with Gregory's.  I don't go out much these days, but having just come from another bar, I noticed that the beers on tap at Gregory's were much colder and fresher tasting.  The bar food is pretty standard - all decent stuff.  Taco Tuesday & Thursday are always a good time.  Sure it's a locals bar and you're going to see the same old- same old, but that's part of the charm here.  This place is really a part of the community.

Awesome! Awesome! More pitchers of beer.  More great cheap food.
Burger was good.  Nachos with Cajun chicken were good.  The wings were great.  Try their she crab soup and their French onion soup.  The Basket of Shrimp is pretty good.  Their crab cake sandwich is outta this world.  Big plus for me is that they had Stella Artois on tap...man that stuff is good.  Good place to go on the Jersey shore

Great place for locals (packed with tourist in the summer though). Every tuesday and thrusday in the off season is taco night with awesome deals. They usually have some pretty good drink deals everyday of the week.

I used to live close enough to Gregory's to walk, and so I went frequently.  Yes, often it is the same people, the same faces,  the same thing, etc., etc., but that's at least part of what gives Gregory's its charm--it's really a LOCAL place where LOCALS like to go.  Locals go there year 'round.  I liked the food, and I liked the atmosphere there.  I liked the "sameness," frankly, and I liked Taco Tuesday (do they still have it?) and all the special nights and things they did there.  I have always hada  good time at Gregory's--with the same people, same faces, etc., etc., etc.  Sometimes there is a comfort in consistency.

this place sucks, same people, same faces week after week, nothing ever changes, same crap... over and over again. food is cheap and not good at all. tried their "real food" corned beef and cabbage when they had it as a special during saint pattys day. and it pretty much was horrible, cabbage did not taste or look fresh, corned beef was suuuper salty, like it was used to preserve it so you can take it home and eat it 10 years later. i'd say.. they dont specialize in preparing good "wholesome/healthy meals" but cater more towards drunks/bar food. which is normally all fried stuff. fried shrimp, french fries, fried chicken.. etc, but c'mon... anybody can fry something and make it taste good. thats not cooking skills. their seafood department is not great either, tried their clams/steamers 3 times, everytime they were extremely fishy tasting, fishy tasting shell fish = not fresh shell fish.  though if you wanna get drunk they are good on prices for alcohol/beer
