Gregory's Fine Tailoring and Clothing

I have to go out to LA for a gala tomorrow and the zipper of my dress appeared to have broken, so I brought it into work to find a tailor and the first one looked at it and said I had to replace the zipper and all they had were plastic ones. I came into my office and a girl I work with told me to call Gregory, he told me to come over and he could replace the zipper that day for me. I brought the dress and the zipper and he looked at it and came back with pliers and some soap and fixed it right there in 5 minutes for free.
He was so nice and just knew looking at it it was an easy fix, the other place was going to take out my metal zipper and put in a plastic one.
I have to get a bridesmaid dress altered, I'm going back to Gregory! He knows what he's doing and he is fair!

My Fiancé and I left her brand new wedding dress with Gregory to have it tailored on July 2nd 2023. Gregory informed us that it would be ready by August 1st. On August 1st my Fiancé called Gregory to pick up her dress. Gregory informed my Fiancé that no work had commenced on the dress. She decided to retrieve her dress from the tailor and bring it else where. When we returned home and took the dress out of its bridal dress bag there were two blood stains on the dress. I immediately called Gregory and informed him of the stains. He denied all culpability, refused to pay for the cleaning of the dress and hung up the phone.
I wouldn't touch this tailor.

DO NOT USE THIS TAILOR. I brought in my wedding dress for alterations and was told it would be ready in 2 weeks. Nearly 4 weeks later, he calls to tell me he needs me for a second fitting, the tailor he had working on the dress was not around or who knows. I showed up at the time we arranged and he was not there. He made some unintelligible excuses, word salad nonsensical blather, and asked if I could come another day. Make a long story short, the dress was never worked on, it was still pinned up, and he had no one to do the work. He stated the person who pinned the dress ( the helper who ditched him) was responsible to complete the work. I demanded he return the dress and my cash deposit, which he did.
When I got home to examine the dress, there were blood stains on the train, obviously where the pins were. Also, his shop is a mess, a disgusting mess, I was terrified to leave my precious wedding dress there. My gut told me to run when I went into his shop and saw an old school oil can ( the ones you use to grease old sewing machines) teetering precariously on a pile of junk. DO NOT USE HIM. I am warning you now. He is a shady business man. And, ignore the credit card signs he has displayed, his CC machine is permanently "broken" so it is cash only. Red flag. BE WARNED.

Complete rip-off. I gave them a check for more than $4,000 and they simply took it and left.

Never again! I have never experienced a more unprofessional, rude, flaky, forgetful business owner in my entire life.

We brought in seven suits to be tailored for a wedding. Gave him a date we needed them by and he assured us they would be ready (more than three weeks out). I called him that morning and he told me they were finished and I could pick them up that afternoon. I stop in after work and he hasn't even started them. They are still sitting on the same rack where we left them 25 days earlier. He assured me they would still be done by the next day (three days before the wedding). I stop in two days later and he isn't even halfway done.

When all was said and done, I had to delay my departure until the morning of the wedding and the suits still weren't pressed. They stink like cigars and he overcharged us by over $600 compared with what was quoted.

He might do good work, but there are plenty of other tailors in Boston who do good work and won't rip you off and can actually meet a deadline.

Stay as far away from this guy as you can!

Update: He didn't even finish the job! The best man's jacket only had one arm done (see photo)

Gregory is amazing and has done some fantastic repairs on things every other tailor said they could not fix. He is very nice and is willing to go above and beyond for his customers.

He does incredible work at a fair price and is one of the best tailors in Boston.

believe the reviews. after calling ahead to confirm there was time to make alterations I gave him a dress weeks ago. several days after we agreed I'd come back for it, I called to make sure it was ready and was told yes and I'll be there in half an hour to open for you. an hour later, no one there. i called, was reassured my dress was ready and to come back later in the day (zero apologies for wasting my time). came back later that day and my dress was sitting there untouched like the day I dropped it off. i demanded it back and again, no apologies. I'm the maid of honor in a wedding this weekend and my dress is 2 sizes too big.

never again. if i could give zero stars, i would.

Gregory did a beautiful job on tailoring a dress for me tonight at the very last minute before attending a wedding. If it weren't for him, my gown would be dragging on the floor! He turned it around in just 24 hours and did a very thorough job. He was very friendly and made the entire process stress free! I would definitely recommend visiting him.

Needed my pair of pants that needed to be tailored to the right length. Gregory got it to me within 3 hours. 100% recommend and will be back again.
