Drink: Absolut Vodka Martini ($8). The bartender made a good Martini! Comparable to anything in Manhatten, and much cheaper!
Dinner Salad: the salad with their House Dressing (Balaamic Vinegarette) was crisp and included tomato, carrot shavings, and a pepper ($2.25). Good salad!
Entree:!I had the Haddock Primavera, which was a 10" inch Haddock covered in matinara sauce with thin spaghetti accompaniment ($17). The sauce was fairly bland, but like another reviewer said, this place is located near many hotels. So, they are trying to meet most people's mild palates. The owner, Richard, came out to talk with us. Very nice and a great break away from chain restaurants! -

I was staying at a hotel near the Green Onion on the Saturday night the Universities were having graduation ceremonies. All of the chain restaurants were packed and I normally prefer a mom and pop restaurant anyway. From the outside the place looks like it would be fine dining in a charming converted house. I had misgivings when I saw neon Bud signs in the windows. The other warning sign was it was 8:15 pm and while all the other restaurants were full, there were only two other tables of guests in the restaurant
First was the garden salad containing ice burg lettuce, carrot shavings, onion and a pepper. I asked for my dressing on the side which was presented in a small plastic tub. There was absolutely nothing special about the salad. It's the same salad you'd see at any diner or lunch spot. The side bread (not fresh) came with individually wrapped patties like you'd see at a breakfast diner.
I had a soupy spaghetti and meatball, my dinner mates had a soup and a fish dish. None of us really talked about the meal while we were at the table because the dining room was small and there was no need putting others off on the food. As we left we discovered that none of us had a good experience, none of us finished our meal and we decided to cross this one off the list of places to revisit.
Good candidate for Gordon Ramsey's show. -

Decor was very nice, wait staff very friendly, but the food probably passed through a microwave on the way to the table.
Actually, the salad was nice. The food presentation was also nice. I had a veggie pasta dish, and the wife had chicken parmesan. Maybe we should order something that can't be frozen easily.
One final note: the place is surrounded by hotels, so that may influence the fare. -

Looks like a cozy old home converted to a restaurant. The waitress was warm and attentive without being annoying. The food was delicious and cooked perfectly (I had beef barley soup and pasta primavera).
As a frequent business traveler who eats too often in chain restaurants, this place was a refreshing change. -

This place has really gone downhill over the years. This used to be one of my favorite places to eat in town, now the quality of food is questionable at best.
