This is absolutely the most delicious snack I ever enjoyed in my life.
Seriously.
I was a fat kid growing up and my mother used to feed me every damn sugary, crispy, fried thing under the sun.
THIS STUFF IS ALL NATURAL AND IT TASTES BETTER THAN THAT ARTIFICIAL SCIENTIFICALLY FLAVOURED CRAP!
Amazing. Green Light Jerky's flavour technicians are geniuses. If there was a Nobel Prize for food science, they deserve it. Truly Heston Blumenthal would be jealous. And fat. Because he would eat all their supplies. As will I, eventually.
I highly recommend the PRD flavour and the Jamaican Jerk if you like things spicier. I'm sure I'll have a new favourite next week. -

I love jerky. Doesn't everyone? Eating jerky kinda makes you imagine that you are a comanche warrior. Ok ok ok - I have no idea what it was like to be a Native American in the 18th Century - but you get where I'm coming from. Jerky - it's animal. It's real. It's beef. It's usually crammed with sulfites and preservatives and so tough you can barely chew it without tearing your mandibular muscles. Seriously.
Only in California: all natural beef jerky. Genius. Total genius. This stuff is tasty, not totally unhealthy, decidedly more chewable than a census-taker's tongue (with or without fava beans) -- in sum, totally delicious. And it's local. Check it out - they sell it at Faletti's, or you can order it online direct from the source.
EAT GREEN LIGHT JERKY! EAT IT NOW! EAT IT LIKE YOUR LIFE DEPENDS ON IT! (because, truly, it does) -

Special thanks to Yelper Ann L. for pointing this product out to me. They sell their product mostly online and out of a collision center (yes a collision center in San Jose). They are going to start selling it at the San Jose Giants games also and after some digging I found that they're out of Redwood City. Today they were selling at the San Carlos Holiday bazaar and on my hun,t I went to the San Carlos Adult Community Center where I braved the scrutiny of the San Carlos senior community. Once finding said product we saw that they offered five different flavors (list from the website):
The Classic
Description: The classic beef jerky taste only better! Seasoned with sweet guajillo and pasilla chiles. The Classic! offers a mild flavor that's a hit with jerky fans of all ages.
Pepper Grinder
Description: Would you like fresh cracked pepper on that? This is "The Classic!" with cracked black pepper.
A Bit Spicy
Description: Give your classic a kick! For those who enjoy a hotter variety, this is "The Classic!" recipe kicked up a few notches with ground chipotle. Don't be fooled, this one is HOT!
Garlic Parmesan
Description: Magnifico!! There are few things on this great earth of ours that can beat the taste of garlic & parmesan...and here's the proof!
Prime Rib Dinner
Description: Finally...a great meal you don't need a knife and fork to enjoy! Seasoned with rosemary, thyme and horseradish, this one hits the spot
All around a good find. I bought a sample of all the flavors and have been gnawing on them throughout the day. Theyuse no preservatives and the flavor combos are all tasty. The texture varies from package to package and I found that some pieces were drier than others so definitely a workout for the jaw muscles on some. That's what you get from a handmade product though. Check em out! -

I stumbled upon Green Light Jerky on a music message board and since then my life has changed! Well, not exactly, but as a FOODIE having this option in jerky is great! The all natural approach the GLJ utilizes sets itself apart! Also, the fact that this is a start up company makes it even better! The choice flavors that GLJ offers is another big plus!
My favorite flavors are in this order:
1. PRD#32
1a.Garlic Parmesan
1b.Pepper Grinder
1c.A Bit Spicy
As you can see I have an affinity for numerous flavors that GLJ has to offer! Do yourself a favor and get yourself some Green Light Jerky!!! -

holy crap green light jerkey found it's way to yelp! freaking awesome. let me begin by saying. ive never been a huge dried meat enthusiast but after meeting the green light jerky people and tasting the product ive got to say i am excited about dried meat.
this smart husband/wife duo has invested the better part of two years developing innovative and delicious flavor profiles. the first versions of the jerky were totally home made in their kitchen. you'd have to email them and then you'd get whatever it was they were working on. i guess the operation has out grown the kitchen, they are are now boasting a USDA approval on their labels and you can get just about any selection at any time on the website online.
ive been eating this jerky for well over a year now. im addicted. we will be joining the jerky of the month club because seriously, we need it in our house all the time. even our cat likes it. she hears the package and goes freaking nuts. they make turkey jerky too which is awesome. and it's pretty rare that poultry jerkey tastes good enough to rival the beef. at least in my opinon. Here are my faves:
Garlic Parmesean Turkey - Something about the garlic/cheese combo tastes so much better on turkey to me. The beef version is amazing too but the turkey is the best.
Veri, Veri, Teri -- BEST TERIAYAKI JERKY EVER super moist, super chewy, super teriaky-y
Root Beer Fire - Crazy name right, well it's got root beer and it's spicy so that's where the fire comes in. Delis.
Classic - I love guajillo chile so this is like heaven for me.
A Bit Spicy - It truly is just a "bit" spicy. However, weenies may think it's a LOT spicy. But they are weenies so they don't count. -

I've been a fan of jerky since I was a kid. I've tried lots of the typical bagged stuff from the grocery stores as well as several "home style" recipes from local vendors throughout California, Nevada and Arizona, often finding that too much preservative of one kind or another is used in the making of the jerky. Now that I'm an old timer I'm a little more picky about which jerky I eat but I still love jerky.
Green Light Jerky caught me by the taste buds from the beginning. It's not your typical jerky with too much sodium and other preservatives. Just natural ingredients that bring out the great taste of the jerky. It's also not going to break my teeth when I tear off a piece. The texture is perfect and the various flavors are awesome. My personal favorites are the Garlic Parmesan and the Jamaican Jerk Style. When I order from their web site my order seems to ship really quickly (sometimes the same day) so I get to eat it that much faster.
I highly recommend Green Light Jerky.
