Every time I go to Green Lake park, it reminds me why I love Seattle so much.  It is a beautiful spot with (mostly) friendly people enjoying the outdoors.  There is even a peek-a-boo view of the Space Needle, reminding me how close we are to downtown, even though it seems a world away.  It is a total hot-spot in the summer so parking can be tricky, but its safe, clean and a wonderful place to workout, chat with friends or enjoy a book.

If you have an out of town guest or are new to the area, take the 3-mile stroll around the lake to see a beautiful Seattle spot!

Green Lake means summer fun.  The joy of the smell of spring grass.

2 Man Grass Volleyball when its nice and sunny. Comrades playing till the sunsets.  Underdog softball games on the baseball fields. Pickup Games on the black top.  Running or walking the track around the lake. This is where you meet all the active people.

Green Lake is where most Seattlites congregate for outdoor fun.

When you want to get away in the middle of the metropolis Green Lake is your oasis.

Walking around Green Lake in the dark can be somewhat intimidating with the joggers and rollerbladers who do not wear any sort of reflective clothing or lights. They must have been wearing night vision goggles because I can't imagine how a rollerblader could see a person walking until he was rolling right over him/her.

Strolling around the lake could potentially be hazardous especially when it's down to 25 degrees and you can't feel your feet well enough to understand that there are places where you just shouldn't be stepping, and yet, I'm enchanted. A nice walk in the freezing night air was just what we needed after Indian food and a stop at Baskin Robbins. Seeing portions of the lake start to freeze over made me giddy. Yeah, I'm a freak that way, but apparently so are other people who like being out and about in the cold, cold dark. Good thing I had a burly sailor who had my back--just in case.

I feel good about myself when I'm jogging around Green Lake.  There's something just magical about the place.  This place always has a lot of people rollerblading, playing sports, even swimming during the summer.  By the way, I would never swim in Green Lake, I'm convinced the water quality isn't the best.  But...it's the perfect distance; one loop on the paved path is 2.8 miles, with plenty of curves and beautiful views of the Lake.  I see why this is such a desirable area to live in.

Dear Green Lake,

I have to be honest. When I first met you, you intimidated me. After all, you were big, beautiful and had a lot of experience with other people. For the first time in my life, I was shy and uneasy.

But eventually, I gave you a shot and ten years later, we know each other to depths I couldn't have even imagined. I now know your every curve, move and secret part. I can do you almost twice. And I'm never scared to jump into it with you, day in and day out.

I don't really know why I'm writing this letter, but I guess I wanted to let you know that I don't feel this way with anyone else but you. Whenever you need someone to be there, I'll put on my shoes in a heartbeat and run for you anytime.

Love,
Eugene

This is a beautiful park in a very crowded area a couple miles outside of downtown. It's a couple miles and it circles a beautiful man-made lake. It's quite popular so there are always a bunch of people around.

Sitting at the lake, you can see mountains off in the distance. A must-do.

OK - here is my humble opinion (with regards to the previous comments): there is absolutely no comparison to Central Park in New York, and from that perspective, this park is a little over-rated, however for *what it is*, this place is like a mini-oasis dead-smack-in-the-center of a little metropolis.

First of all, it is situated in a nice neighborhood with tree-lined streets. Second of all, love the grass here - it's well-kept. Third of all, love the diversity of the people who use it, and also the iCandy (moms and/or dads w/strollers, older folk, kids, 20-somethings, and dawg-walkers).

At almost three miles, the run 'round the park was just the right length for me at less than an hour. The park is clean, and it's got a paved path with separate lanes for speedsters on wheels, and those on foot. Alongside the paved path, there is also a small gravel path for those who prefer it.

The only contention that I have is the fact that if you're running or walking in your *own* lane, it seems pretty inconsistent as to those who yield more to the left or more to the right if you want to pass someone (who is also walking); whether or not the slower one should yield; or vice versa - "who knows?". In my humble opinion, the etiquette seemed inconsistent, whereas if we *all* shared the same path/lane (with cyclists, roller-bladers, etc), our intuition would automatically lean towards using the right-hand part of the path (if you're the slower ones).

I love Greenlake Park.  Whether I'm coming here to run, take a stroll in the sun, or do some intense people watching, I always have a great time.  This place is beautiful when it's sunny out and I can spend hours here.  Unfortunately, I never get here as often as I'd like!

Also, Spud is nearby.  There's nothing better then ordering some amazing fish & chips and then sitting on on the grass by the water and having a mini picnic lunch.

It can get crowded on really nice days, but it's usually worth it to navigate through the countless baby strollers and dogs on leashes.

Greenlake Park is a great place to catch some rays (on the 10 nice days per year in Seattle) and do some serious people watching. A broad spectrum of Seattle is on exhibit in all of its glorious freaky extremes. You've got hippies doing weird meditation in the grass while a dude in an " I Heart Kissinger" T-shirt jogs by.  Little old ladies crawl along while crazy bicyclists which seem to be suffering from roid-rage speed between tots.

This latter demographic is really my only complaint about this park. I've nearly been run over numerous times by these nut-jobs. If you are training for some triathlon or other super-human competition please consider going to a formal athletic training facility instead of hurdling past helpless pedestrians and then turning and glaring behind you because you missed your lap time by half a second because you had to swerve around someone to avoid killing them. duh

Greenlake is such a great place with its paved 2.8 mile loop, dogs, turtles, ducks, views of Rainier, Cascades, and downtown on a clear day, families, bikers, walkers, runners, roller bladders, boaters, swimmers. You can see everyone and everything at Green Lake. Great place for a workout, throwing a frisbee, relaxing, basking in the sun, and a picnic. I always bring visitors to Greenlake whenever they come into town and they enjoy walking a lap around the lake and checking out all of the Seattlites. I've gone here for a stroll with ice cream or to hit a hard workout.

The only downfall is that when it becomes crowded, it becomes difficult for everyone to enjoy their exercise of preference. I've been clipped a few times by bikers or roller bladders and I am sure they were none too pleased that they came so close to me as well.

All and all, Greenlake Park is one of the many reasons why I love living in Seattle.

Greenlake is the Walmart of parks.

Now, I actually mean that as a complement. This park has almost all the amenities that you can think of and at Everyday Low Prices: free!

As most people are aware of, Greenlake Park is most known for a paved trail surrounding a lake in the north part of Seattle. It's a magnet for runners, walkers and rollerbladers with a flat loop around the lake that's perfect for this activity. One loop will take 2.8 miles and if you do the outer gravel path, it's 3.1 miles. Along with the sheer potential of physical exercise, the people watching opportunities are also endless. This can range from gawking at regretful fashion choices to catching a glimpse of Leonardo (aka the Spanish Lessons guy).

But the park has so much more. There is the aqua stadium where all the crew teams practice, as well as soccer fields and basketball courts next to the community center. Along the abundant side space, occasionally volleyball nets are often raised and once I've seen people set up an impromptu obstacle course. Brave souls can often be found swimming in the lake and even the occasional fisherman can be spied along the rocks between the foliage.

Moving a few hundred yards away from the lake brings you to more community riches. Across the road are tennis courts, another soccer field, softball fields and a track. Watch out for the track though: the lanes are packed dirt and do have a propensity for potholes.

The concentration of facilities in this one area does lend to the few complaints that you hear about Greenlake. Parking can sometimes be challenging and it can get crowded, especially on the path on a summertime evening. Pretty much everyone will have at least one, if not several, stories about this. My most recent experience was about a group of six women who could only walk around the lake side-by-side. They were so effective at taking up the entire path and driving people into the grass, it was almost as if they had practiced off-season blocking techniques with the Seattle Seahawks offensive line.

But these issues are minor and usually limited to the crowded summertime. It is more than made up for by the convenience and the underrated scenery. During one of the semi-snowing days this past January I was running past the lake in the late evening and bumped into another runner. While chatting, we marveled at the view: the moonlight shimmering across the lake, a few snowflakes suspended in the night sky and the twinkle of a few house lights in the distance. An image that you could put on a Christmas card, if only I'd remembered my camera......

And it's definitely a great place to go for a picnic.

I've only been to Seattle twice, and each time it was on a perfect weather weekend. (You know, when it's sunny, and warm, and everyone comes out of their houses in their cute, fun summer clothes.) So, this review might be biased because of the weather luck.

My friends live near Greenlake Park and convinced me to take a quick walk around with them. Convinced I needed a nap more than anything else, I was surprised that I agreed. (I must have been too tired to resist.)

Hands down, this was one of my favorite Seattle moments. Flat trail, lots of places to run on dirt (if you don't like concrete), families, dogs, wildlife.... and BLACKBERRIES! I generally don't recommend eating strange fruit but my friend picked a few blackberries, and I almost passed out I was so happy. They literally melted in my mouth.

If I lived near Greenlake Park, I think I would take up running just so I could see the lake every day. Even with the crowds, it was relaxing and beautiful. Some shade, some sun... heaven.

This park has to be the most popular place in the city for walking or running by yourself, or with dates, with kids, or with grandma, all off or on the strollers.  Yes, all of them.  Let's see: 2.8 miles at the inside paved area, and 3.2 or so miles at the outside lake perimeter.  I've been here so many times, but I still don't get tired of it, and I keep on coming back at any time.  Every year on my birthday, I'm also here for my own personal run, just to see if I can beat my laps from the previous year.  Overall, this is always a good place to work up a sweat, or to just plain kick back and watch people trip all over themselves walking while announcing their own personal lives in public.  (just kidding!)  Seriously, I see an almost perfect 5 stars for this park at any time.

This is Seattle's version of a "beach." The swimming areas are filled with kids on a hot day, and people are laying out on the grass all around the park. As other people say, you can do some people-watching. You will probably also see someone you know, because everyone in North Seattle walks around Green Lake. Parades around, if you will.

I just got back from a run there. I hate running around Green Lake. The path is crowned- it is slanted downhill towards the water. So if you have ever had problems with your IT band, watch out! Also, there are just way too many people that can't figure out which side of the line to be on. Feet, wheels? It's so confusing. I think running on the Burke-Gilman through Fremont and Wallingford to the U-District is equally as pretty and about the same mileage.

I LOVE this place. I am lucky enough to live only 2 blocks away, and I literally never want to live anywhere else in Seattle.

a) The walk is long enough to feel good afterwards, but not too long that you couldn't complete it within the hour of your lunch break.

b) The people watching is the best - where else can you see a woman on a skateboard being pulled around by her dog, a 55 year old man rollerblading, kids learning to ride their bike, impossibly physically fit runners without their shirts on, etc etc all in the same place?? Probably somewhere, but this place is just better.

c) Basketball court = entertainment. Not to mention the crazy frisbee throwers, kickball tournaments, little league baseball, and crazy sports I've never heard of. Seems like a favorite for people who love to show off - even better for the observer!

d) Close proximity to tons of shops, restaurants, coffee, ice cream, athletic stores, more restaurants....

e) I just need to mention the people watching again, because I will come here and sit on the brick wall and just watch people for a good hour. It is GREAT. Definitely helps a person gain some perspective, especially when they're fuming about some trivial issue in their lives. Zen.

f) Sunset. 'Nuff said.

There's so much more, but one cannot possibly fit it all into one Yelp review. You have to go here yourself to figure it out. If you see a chick who looks like me sitting on the sidelines with sunglasses and iPod buds in her ears casually looking around, it's ME, people watching. And yes, I will be happy. It's just contagious here.

"Greenlake Park is the Central Park of Seattle"

I read that somewhere... I think tripadvisor. The comparison is totally spot on. It gets busy on nice days and the lake is gorgeous.

Can't wait to bust out my beginners kayaking skillz on in it.

Now I just need to borrow a kayak.

my first swim lessons were here at the community center when i was 3....stayed at the swim lessons until i was 6...ok so i am a slow learner! as a child my mom always took me to the kiddy pool, i take my kids there now. i think i got into the lake one time....until hearing my mother scream "GET OUT OF THE LAKE"...it is known as not such a clean lake to be in. lol.....i have went on the paddle boats and paddled to "duck shit island" as us locals call it....really, paddle out there if you havent...pretty amazing how much poop can be at such a small location....word to the wise....stay in the boat!
my first and only goose attack was here....thank you grandma for hitting the goose upside the head with your amazingly large purse. you totally saved my 4 year old tooshie! (one of the best memories of my childhood). this was when we could still feed the ducks here....now we cant, hence "duck shit island".
i saw my first swimming rat here.....dont ask.
the playground here is awesome.
you can rent bikes or whatever across the street and ride around the lake....thats pretty cool. i cant tell you how many times we have went around this lake.
i love this place. minus the goose attack (ok, that was a great experience!).
the swimming rat.
the poop.
but hey!~ its awesome! and pretty! especcially on a summer day....

Seattle is a big tease... Cloudy and cold one day and absolutely beautiful the next.  Now I realize why the "it rains all the time here" rumor has spread, so those living here can keep people away.

Today was the day all Seattleites wait for year after year.

Greenlake Park transformed to a mecca of all kinds; old young, big small, bikers, rollerbladers, skaters, runners, walkers and who can forget the dogs galore...

A new sense of energy has surfaced through the people of Seattle to enjoy this park: picnickers, fishers, golfers, lovers, friends and families.

What's so inherently wonderful about Seattle is that it's just not Greenlake Park that has this affect on the people, but that Seattle has so many venues that brings the masses together to enjoy what life has to offer.  Never take for granted your local parks.

Meh..I've seen/had a much better time with nature.

Greenlake is a nice enough park, but don't expect any sort of tranquil, private, only-the-sounds-of-nature experience here.  Sitting in the grass, it's impossible not to note the many passing, noisy cars. Walking around the park (ESPECIALLY if the weather is 60 degrees +) you will probably find yourself alongside the same group of walkers/skaters/moms that you saw last week, or perhaps 15 minutes ago.

Not that I have any, but I assume it's a nice place for kids. If your looking to go on a nice pic nic or romantic date, try one of the botanical gardens.

"A-Ok" pretty much sums it up.

I am a walker. Need to clear my mind? I go for a walk. Need to burn off that pint of Ben and Jerrys? I go for a stroll. When I first moved here, I got to know Seattle by walking through the neighborhoods. On occasion, I'd get lost and have to call someone and ask them to mapquest me. Fortunately, I know my way around now and truth be told, I get a little bored walking around my neighborhood. So when I feel like venturing out of Greenwood for a walk, Greenlake is my top choice.

My walks around Greenlake provide a great arm workout. My dog is pulling me after the ducks and I'm pulling him away from the water. He's pulling me to every garbage can in vision and I'm pulling him back out of bikers' way. If you have a less rambunctious dog than I do, then your walks may very well be relaxing, but Hercules and I manage to have a pretty exciting time getting around the lake. Typically, I try to avoid the crowds (less distractions for Herc), so weekday mornings, evenings or any day that's chilly are perfect for us.

All in all, Greenlake provides enough to look at that I don't get bored. There's also plenty of places to stop in for a drink or bite to eat after you finish your walk. So, the next time you see a girl getting walked by her dog, say hello!

Hey, I love Greenlake! I don't care if it's an artificial lake! I just know I love to waste my summer days here...

There's a lot of things you can do here. Typical park activities like picnic, throwing Frisbees, walking your dogs, etc. But this park comes with a lot of other facilities! Tennis courts, playgrounds, basketball courts, indoor ping pong table, gym, etc etc etc! DONT YOU DARE say that Greenlake is boring!!! At least not to my face!!!!

My favorite thing to do is to rent those paddle boat and just float around in the middle of the lake, smoking *ahem* cigarettes *ahem!!* and drinking beer. My oh my, those good old days... The only downside of this place is that parking is a pain. It's either you drive around in circles around the lot till you find someone leaving, or you gotta park a couple blocks away and walk down here.

It's a 3 mile walk/jog AROUND the lake.  Don't worry- its mostly flat.  I have walked here a few times with my dog so we both can get exercise and enjoy the view of Greenlake and the neighborhood!  People (and people with dogs) are always friendly and they look happy!  This motivates me to come back again and again!

FYI- there are many squirrels and birds here.  Hopefully, your dog will not try to chase them every time she sees them!  Luckily, she has learned the "Leave it" command well! Plenty of garbage cans and I remember seeing poop bags in locations.  i always bring my own anyway.  By the way, It is close to the  Woodland off leash park! Sometimes, I go there first to let my dog get her energy out so she would already be tired and be a great dog to walk around the park!

So my friends, I have a confession.  I've lived in Seattle for nearly 3 years.  Today I went to Greenlake.  For the first time.  Ever.  I've driven past it several times, thought about going, and heard lots of stories about this park.

So on a day of nothing better to do, sunshine, and not too warm of weather, I decided to take the dog out for a nice, long walk.  We walked the inner path and it couldn't have been more pleasant.

The first half of the walk, I was thinking to myself "Really, it took you 3 years to discover how beautiful this park is?"  That applies to both the natural scenery and some of the quite attractive people who were here.

By halfway through, I was worried my little dog was going to fall over and not be able to make it around the park.  Navigating between slower walkers, other dogs, strollers, and bikers made the walk a bit longer than it needed to be, but that was no fault of the lovely path.  It was mostly due to the fact my dog felt the need to mark near every tree for at least half of the lake.

By the end of my little walk around the lake, I was convinced of several things:
1)  This is the perfect place to fall in love with Seattle.  You can do a bit of everything here.  Plus, the lake is gorgeous on a sunny day.
2)  I need to run/walk more.  This park makes me want to walk it everyday.
3)  If you meandered along the path slowly with a stranger, you'd know them pretty well by the end.  You'd get to see how they interacted with other people, dogs, kids, nature, and have a long conversation.
4)  You pretty much are never alone on the path here.  There's always somebody nearby.
5)  The ducks here aren't afraid of much.  They'll let you get pretty close to look at them.  They also don't always flinch when a little dog barks her head off at them.  If you're afraid of birds, this may not be the place for you.
6)  Watching people who have flipped kayaks trying to get back in them can be quite humorous.
7)  When you see somebody pass you twice, you're walking too slow.
8)  If a kid opened a lemonade stand here, they could earn enough money for a year of college.  It's such a perfect place for that type of thing.
9)  This is the perfect place to wonder if you have no sense of direction.  You won't get lost.  You can't get lost. Really.  Just follow the lake.
10)  You can spend an entire day here if you tried.  Take a walk, have a picnic, rent a boat, people watch, go fishing...

Why I waited 3 years to discover this gem, I'm not quite sure.  Look for me and Lola walking the loop sometime soon!

What happened to Greenlake?  If I was to rate on memory alone, I would go 4-5 stars but I just did a revisit.  Evolution of the baby stroller into the baby tank has ruined this experience for myself and others(as I read through the posts).

Walking down the path what do I see coming at me but a battalion of new-mothers driving their little soldiers side by side by side in an infant motor pool.  Armoured with their 2x and 3x side-by-side strollers, they march.  March in such a way they take up the whole path.  Not just the walking path mind you.  THE WHOLE PATH!  Bikers and rollerbladers made to yield into the grass.  Seniors and casual walkers forced to balance the bulkhead that separates the dry from the wet.  Unbelievable! These people think they have some self-imposed right of the park and that their conversations of the latest baby uniform is more important than SHARING THE PATH WITH THE REST OF SEATTLE!

But hey... the rest was ok.  Hence the two stars instead of one for this rating.

What's not to like!!!

It's a park! It's in the middleof Seattle. You and thousands of other people in  Seattle converge at sunny times and comingle as we walk, run, skate, bike around. We are joined/watched by lollers, tanners, bookreaders andneighbors.

parking can be a task. There are many places to eat just north of it. There is an indoor pool and community center at north end also.

It is a beautiful  lake. Go, just be polite about parking and don't expect to get a place up front.

BTW many weekend afternoons some  guy with a guitar sings and yells rather downer political and negative stuff. I wish  he would stop. He isn't doing anything illegal but polluting the harmony of the area. Please don't tip him.

I spent a ton of time here with my family growing up and maybe even more time with friends in high school, though not quite as much now that I'm living the life of a busy college student. The park is huge and mostly everybody that you encounter is genuinely friendly. I love people-watching and dog-watching here; it's probably one of the best places to engage in either activity. There are plenty of shops and restaurants as well as playing fields and tennis courts nearby, so activities don't have to be limited to just walking or jogging around. Bicyclists here tend to be pretty courteous to walkers and small children also. I honestly love lazy days spent laying in the grass at Greenlake-- there are very few places that are more perfect for a great Seattle day.

No matter the season, Green Lake Park offers the perfect path for a quick run or walk. It's starting to get darker sooner in the evening but everyone on the path seems content to be there no matter what. It's a great park with plenty of good people. I love all the foreign languages that can be heard along the way.

Green lake has become part of my weekly routine.

Not only is the walk great, as I know exactly how far I have gone, but I can also get my "dog fix".

I love dogs. I want one, but don't have one. I come here to scope out the pups.

Guilty.

I see the same people here all the time, but I really remember the dogs.

Like the gorgeous Doberman with the huge chest, the bulldog that rides on a cart, the chihuahua who has an owner who likes to dress her up all the time, I have know idea what the owners look like...just the dogs.

I am dog centric.

I can't walk my cats, it's a shame.

I'm here every weekend folks! Looking at your dogs.

For the first 5 years of my life in Seattle before knowing about Golden Gardens, this has been my second home during warming sunny days. I have countless memories here.

Watching friends in their softball league, re-learning how to rollarblade, swimming (yes swimming), walking around Greenlake, laying in the sun reading.....

My only complaint is that it gets super super busy on said nice days.

Almost every day, I can count on bringing a smile to my lips just by thinking about how close I live to a three-mile trail that encircles a modest body of water. Instant exercise, and never monotonous.

The only drawback that I can cite is that Green Lake Park apparently brings a smile to lots of other local faces as well, as it's rarely uncrowded when I visit. This is a blessing in some ways, as I always feel safe and happen to enjoy people-watching a great deal. But it can also be a bane when you're often dodging strollers (the wheeled kind) and, well, strollers (the just-taking-our-time kind).

It's also a bit disappointing that the trail isn't lit at night -- I've seen lights around, so I know it's possible. Seattle Parks and Rec, if you're listening, could you designate just one evening a week to flip the switches? It'd be awfully nice, especially during the dark winter months.

I remember riding paddle boats on green lake and grabbing weird black spiral shells off the top of the water with my dad, when I was a very little girl. I remember duck island. I remember feeding the ducks once we got out there in the boat. I even then there was the plethora of utterly obnoxious mom joggers. I also remember jumping out of the boat and into three feet of dirty water to make the rental girl mad- because I picked up on my dad's suppressed annoyed emotions when she said our time was up so bluntly.   I remember the following solidarity pizza.

I think there' a little theater here, too. Its a very cool in a suburban alternative way.  It's just...joggers , mostly. And kids in school sports whose parents eject them from their homes until dinner.

Love, love, love this place.  I moved here recently from San Diego where there is beautiful scenery and parks everywhere.  I was so happy to move near such a picturesque location.  When the weather is nice it definately can get a bit packed, but for the most part people seem to be friendly.  It's about 2.7 miles and the scenery definately keeps me occupied enough to not get bored on a walk or run.  My dog loves this place too!

Just wanted to mention my recent experience renting a paddle boat in the park. We went on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon and found street parking. We went to the stand near the lake (Latona is the nearest cross street) and left a driver's license and paid $14 up front for an hour (it looked like there were single, double, and 4-person boats, although they were all leaning against one another, so there might have been other styles hiding in there). Then we were sent about 20 feet towards the water and a kid put a boat in the water and helped us get on board. Expect to get at least your feet wet. My boyfriend ended up splashing water into his seat.

Overall, it was really fun and we'd definitely do it again. There were also kayaks and canoes to rent. We'll bring water with us next time, too.

This lake is so representative of Seattle.  This is a huge lake!  I'm not sure of how long it goes on for, but I don't even think we walked a quarter of it after our huge brunch.  We hadn't planned on being here, so my city ass heels went through the test.  I did get some crazy looks from people who I'm sure were having a field day looking at the girl that is truly not from Seattle walking around in her stilletos.  It shunned me to the point where I wore flats when I got back to change into them.  The lake is gorgeous and the park so green.  We saw some turtles out on logs and people fishing.  There were people walking, running, biking, walking their dog, and rollerblading.  There are bathroom areas and water fountains and nice benches to sit and rest at.  What a great place to motivate you to work out and be healthy.

It's a good place to walk (perhaps while eating tasty ice cream), bike, run, people watch, sunbathe (apparently... never done it but I've seen plenty of girls in bikinis on hot days), etc.

I think one of my favorite experiences here was years ago when I was in Summer camp and we rented paddle boats. Fun!!!!

I THINK GREENLAKE IS HAUNTED! BE CAREFUL!

I've been walking around Greenlake every morning with a very trustworthy stiltwalking, fire breathing, interior designer for the last 4 months (it only sounds dangerous)!
She can attest to the fact that it never rains when we go around Greenlake in the morning!
Not once! It's only a small pocket of time that we're there, and it will rain right before we arrive or leave, but never when we're going around?

Being a logical person of sciencey things, I had to discover why!

I went back through old city records at the Greenlake library and at town hall in an attempt to discover Greenlakes secret and came across some chilling facts!

The first Greenlake settler was a German gentleman named Erhart Seifried with a 132 acre homestead on the northeast shore of the lake in 1869. He arrived as an unmarried immigrant, age 37.

Chilling when you look at the facts.

My grandmothers maiden name was Heminger... GERMAN!

1869 was the year Grigori Rasputin, Russian mystic was born! That's just crazy! Rasputin  just happens to be my mystic animal spirit guide guy! ("Why did I get assigned a person" you ask? ... it's something to do with the shrews not wanting me on their team, just let it go.)

I ate 132 gnats the first time I walked around greenlake at dusk! The exact number of acres on the homestead!

I'm unmarried! Just like Erhart! (I wonder why?) Plus, one day I'll be 37! (I just got chills).

AND THAT'S WHEN IT OCCURRED TO ME!

I've been haunted.

... um... or possessed?

Possibly,  he's just watching me?

Look! I can't be really too sure here! Just listen to me when I say that Greenlake might not be 100% safe.

Makes it cooler huh?

Adds a bit of danger to your roller blading and poodle walking.

Oh... and to the autistic kid that always touches my arm when he walks by, "If you want a hug just ask".
