Very nice place  and the food is spectacular but when I went it was $25/per person....all u can eat....

About the most expensive buffet I been to.  They have a green and red stick...when u flip it on red and sit it on the table---WATch out---they will keep bringing diff types of meat for you to try...wow....

When i left out of there....I felt like I was going to burst....lol..definitely go here on an EMpty stomach...no kidding

I hurt myself the first time I went to Green Field, the food was oh so good!
It was my first churrascaria experience and trust me, I'll never forget it.  The side and salad bar is exceptional.  A good variety of common and   brazilian sides to try.  The gauchos are quite friendly and very into the experience.  The desserts are good, a tad bit pricey though and not included in your meal cost.  The bread is good - one of the key pass or fail offerings at restaurants.  Black beans are good.  Tasty all around.  Make sure your stomach is empty when you go!!!

Meat swords!

Do you really need to know more than that? Okay. This place is DELICIOUS. The meat is cooked and seasoned well. Waiters walk around with scepters of different types of meat and give you whatever you want upon request. Some are what you'd expect, and some are more unusual- maybe you don't WANT to try ostrich, but the point is you can have it if you want to.

The salad bar is way beyond any previous concept of what a salad bar should be. It has sides, soups, bread, veggies and fruits, main courses other than meat, random weird-looking things you should probably try, and condiments that you don't really need for the meat.

This is not a restaurant, it's an experience. Don't go unless you have time to luxuriate in it. It's also semi-expensive, obviously, but the cost reflects the quality. You should park in one of Rockville's many nearby strip malls and walk over, because parking right there can be difficult.

Unless you are vegetarian, you can't not love this place. It's a little expensive, but a fantastic choice for birthdays and other important gatherings.

The buffet is somewhat of a scam. Obviously, they are trying to fill you up on less expensive items, but the items on the buffet are sub-par, at best. Of course, you should eat a salad... but then again, there is an endless supple of meat coming!

The lamb is fantastic. The skirt steak is really good, as are the filet, sirloin, brisket and various other beef offerings. The bacon wrapped turkey is actually pretty good also. So is the chicken. Oh, and the sausage is really tasty. The ribs are excellent.

I may have missed something, but it was also good. This place is very good. Skip the buffet.

Green Field makes a damned good sausage. Good ribs, too. Good roast beef, good prime rib, and good filets. Not only do they do justice to cuts of meat, but you can eat as much of the stuff as you want. Great, right? Not really...

Green Field goes about churrascaria the wrong way. They're cuts get boring quick, but the waiters walking around with 'swords' of meat are too slow to keep up with your (mine, anyways) ambitious eating.

In summary - Green Field isn't worth the trek to Rockville.. in addition, it's expensive and slow. If you can put up with those roadblocks, you'll be a happy camper.

There's better out there.

Meat.

More Meat.

Even More Meat.

It is not what the doctor ordered. However, it you like beef and lamb, this your place. The meat is wonderful seasoned and grilled. Yes, I ate too much meat. The variety makes it more exciting than just going to a steakhouse.

The buffet has a wide variety of items- many of them delicious, but they are distractions.

At $32 a person, it is not a bargain, but it make a great special evening.

In summary, this place is a lot of good food at a pretty good price too.  Green Field is a lovely little Churrascaria in Rockville, with a charming atmosphere with excellent service and some severely good meat.

To add to the value, the buffet tables aren't too bad!  Yes, they're cheaper foods.  Yes, they're salads.  But there's still a great variety to have, and they're definitely a change of pace from the meats served at the table.

Dinner is currently $33 a head before tax and tip, which is what you'd pay at a decent steakhouse anyway.  All their meats are tender and well seasoned (the ribeye tends to be a touch dry, while the flank steak is a favorite), and the best part is, you can have as much of it as you want!

Service is always terrific here, with the waiters and hosts being gracious, never rushing, and accommodating in what you want or need.

"You don't win friends with salad" - Homer

Don't be fooled my fellow carnivores! The salad bar is huge and enticing, but resist that devil and she will flee you.

I recently took one of my college group students here for his birthday and really, I think this place is best suited for guys, preferably, larger, beefy (har har) ones.

Food - The idea is simple. There's a, what I like to call, wooden traffic light on your table - when the green is up, the meat comes, when the red is up, the meat stops. My favorite cuts: the sirloin and the ribeye. Sometimes, they'll have flank *drool* and one time they had filet (meeh). Less desirable: the ribs were mostly fat, the kabobs were about as tender as beef jerky, and the turkey for the bacon wrapped turkey had a strange, nugget-like consistency to it. The meat is marinated in what I assume is a Brazilian-style (this is the only churrascaria I've been to) and I think it can detract from the taste of the meat. Buffetconomics definitely applies here (see my Il Mee review) and after several rounds of trying all the meats, you'll find you really only like 2 of them but you have to wait through the chicken hearts and other meats you've decided you don't like as much. Towards the end of my meal, the very thought of another rare/medium rare piece of meat makes me want to curl fetal position in one of the salad bowls and I typically leave this place announcing that I will not be eating meat for a week...and then a friend will invite me to Five Guys the next day. So much for that idea.
Note: for you well-done meat eaters, the meat is, as you people call it, bloody. You can however, ask them to make it for you well done.

Service - I love how "Would you like..." becomes "d'you like..." The meat guys are generally friendly and the 4 times I've gone, they've been like memory foam -- adapting to what I like. When they brought the skirt around, I think they are obligated to ask, "d'you like skirt?" but knowing that I would eventually ask for more, they would start cutting me larger portions. Eating this much meat requires steady hydration and thankfully, they're pretty good about keeping your glass full.

Location - Decor is nice and kind of romantic, though as I stated, I'd never bring my wife here. There's a parking garage that is free in the evenings and on weekends.

Bathrooms - The bathrooms are clean. Trust me, you'll probably need them.

I give this place 2 stars for the food b/c at $32.95 a pop, I'd rather pay $40+ at Ruth's Chris or Morton's (don't worry, I plan on making it out to Ray's soon) for good steak. I give it a 3rd star because of the great service, the novelty of bringing your meat on large skewers, and the clean bathrooms.

Green Field just increased their prices a head again to 32 and change.  As Churrascaria has gradually increased in notoriety (Thank Fogo de Chao) so have the prices.  It's a shame that the prices don't follow Brasilian prices at home!

Green Field's meats have often been a little salty for me -- though to be frank, so have the ones at say, Fogo.  We had Sirloin, Ribeye, Chicken, Sausage, Bacon wrapped Turkey, Fried Yuka, Collard Greens, Roast Beef, Mashed Potatoes and fried bananas.  We liked the Ribeye best -- but we're also quite partial to fat.  :)

Having arrived at around 9:00 pm, service was brisk to the point of absurdity.  We probably polished off 30 or so oz. of meat in about 15 minutes.  We briefly considered staying for another round, but -- given that malnutrition in the US normally consists of over-nutrition, we decided that perhaps the better part of valour would be to flee!

:)

This Green Field is competent -- you won't go home hungry, and you will enjoy the food.  But eating Churrascaria is like walking a tightrope -- too much food, and you'll feel like you _didn't_ eat well at all!

Meat....lots of meat. It's one of those places you go really hungry. I enjoy going there for Sunday brunch just cos it's relaxing with friends to hang out and eat. I prefer this place over Texas de Brazil because they have more types of meat, giving more variety. They have the normal fair of sirloin, skirt, lamb, sausages, chicken but they also have rabbit and duck also! I like the salad bar i mean no doubt the purpose is to fill you up but they have hearts of palm, black beans, yuca etc!

After eating here, I had to loosen my belt TWO notches. This is a painfully good place for lunch.

Mid tier priced feed bag. Great food, lots of it, actually endless all you can eat amounts of it for about $35. You feel great eating it, then binge eating guilt settles in. Good place to go if you are hungry.

So much meat.  Too much meat.  A carnivore's dreamland.  I liked the bacon wrapped turkey and chicken.  I like my beef charred so there were a couple of things that I had to pass on because it was still pink or leaking blood.  There's a buffet with salad and sides as well, and the mashed potatoes were pretty decent.  My thing is that too much meat makes me feel a bit sick, so I filled up a lot on other things as well so that thirty dollars for dinner wasn't worth it for me.  But if you're into meat  and aren't too picky about how cooked it is, then this is your place.  Everything was nicely seasononed and service was good.

- Weekend Dinner Review -

i vowed not to go to one of these brazilian all you can eat meat joints, but it happened.  my first experience was at Texas de Brazil in Memphis (much better than Green Fields) on a work trip, so the $40something cost wasn't so bad.  Green Fields is a bit cheaper at $33, but i don't think it's worth it (a small group wanted to go, so i'm easy going and decided to try the local joint).  the "salad bar" is not so great and the only Brazilian things are the fried bananas and black bean and whatever soups.
it was not too crowded for a saturday night, but service was still a bit slow, and the meat cutters were not too happy to be there.  and they're not so careful with the blood squirting all over the table and you.  i always wondered if they ever let those super sharp knives slip out of their fingers as they're carrying them vertically.
the meats were pretty good (no filet; just roast beef, duck, pork, sausage, ribeye, ribs, chicken, top sirloin, chicken hearts, bacon wrapped something, and steak kabob).  make sure you wait until later in the evening, as the better stuff makes it out then.  maybe we should have stayed past 9pm for filet??
it wasn't a bad local place, but i hope fogo or others in the area have a better salad bar and selection of meats than this.  i hope i never know since i'm vowing again not to go...

location:  crowded rockville pike, but free parking in the garage below in the evening
ambiance:  pretty large inside and somewhat above average decor.  it was pretty darn cold inside when we went.
service:  waitress was nice, but came by infrequently.  meat cutters were sloppy and not so nice.
value:  below average (and i eat a lot)
food:  ok.  only some of the meats were too salty.
return?:  please NO.
note:  i didn't realize that this was a small chain.  and owned by a korean?  wear armour (the real stuff, not underarmour), covered by a rain coat.
