If I lived in this neighborhood, I would probably eat here every night! I've been here maybe five or six times and each meal was homey, fresh, delicious and made me wish I knew how to cook Greek food. If you go, try their egg lemonsoup to start; chicken kebab dinner (comes with excellent rice & salad) Good lamb & pita sandwiches too! Service is always friendly and prompt!

A couple weeks ago while heading to Hana Sushi, we walked by the Greek Corner. You can smell the food from outside, and my mouth started to water. I grew up surrounded by Greek food and the aroma reminded me of being in the kitchen with Yia Yia and Pouli (my Greek grandparents).

My Pouli was a chef, so he knew how to cook, and I knew how to eat. I think if he were still around he'd be very happy with the food served here, as it is a lot more authentic than what you can get in other places. And of course, the plates are piled high, as they should be!

My meal was amazing, the vegetarian platter was overloaded with spanakopita, salad, stuffed grape leaves, hommus, falafel, and rice (you could also get fries). There was easily enough here for me to bring some home for leftovers, but I just couldn't stop eating.

And when I mean I couldn't stop, I mean it. We also ordered some baklava for dessert. Amazing. The service was also great as it was actually pleasant and didn't come across forced in anyway.

I cannot wait to come back, and maybe bring my Dad to see how he thinks it measures up. Something tells me he'll also get a little nostalgic and think back to the days spent in Yia Yia and Pouli's kitchen.

All I have to say is thank god I have a Greek friend!  I met up with her and two other friends here tonight and was blown away.  Simply blown away.  First off, I got there early and watched a lot of comings and goings, and swooned when I saw that almost everyone was greeted warmly, by name.     It says a lot to me when a place has regulars, and the Greek Corner definitely was overflowing with them.  There was lots of banter, congratulations to one waiter about his engagement, one employee shouting to a regular that he saw him the other day in Medford.  It all just made me wish I was a regular too.

Now onto the food.  We sampled a lot:  I had the lamb/beef gyro and the egg/lemon/chicken soup, one friend had the chicken gyro, and the other two had veggie platters.  We also got an order of fries (which had parmesean on them, not feta as I believe some reviews referenced).  We also got a side order of hummus.  I will be back, often, for more gyro's.  It was the perfect amount of veggies to juicy meat, and the tzatziki in it was delicious.  And the pita it was served on?  So perfect.  If all you've ever had was supermarket pita, then you need to come here and try the homemade pita bread.  It will amaze you.

The most outstanding thing I ate though was the hummus.  I declared, "OMG this is the best hummus I've ever had!" and I wasn't kidding.  I wasn't being dramatic.  I was telling the god's honest truth.  So The Greek Corner has thus landed a spot on my perfect dish list!

Two words: Corner Sandwich

It is the best gyro EVER! Delicious lamb and beef with a great yogurt sauce. The pita is so soft and yummy.

Their other Greek dishes are ok; pretty good, but  not as good.

They do a hefty take out business, but it's also nice to eat there. Good corner diner feel. It's run by the family, and there's something to be said for the staff actually speaking Greek to each other.

The best greek salad dressing ever! I'm with everyone else on the Greek Corner bandwagon--- $ for $-- it's one of the best finds in Boston.  Love the family and staff as well as the food although the music is a bit much if you go often....a little known secret-- they took over the Arlington Diner on Mass Ave in E. Arlington (below the Capital/across from ZA) about a year ago-- it's the same salad dressing and gyro if your not in the mood for a great omelet!

I have eaten here 4 times now and will certainly return again.

The first time we went we got a bunch of stuff from the appetizer menu just to try out as many different things as possible on our first time there. Taramasalata, delicious, perfect blend of ingredients, greek sausage was soooo good, the sausages tasted home made and it was grilled. Hummus was really tasty and smooth, the greek salad " village salad" ?? (cant remember exactly) was incredible, fresh vegetables with an amazing dressing. The grape leaves were also very fresh and obviously made in house.

The next time we went we got the vegetarian plate which included falafel. Everything on it was tasty but I did not like their style of falafel. It wasn't the lighter, parsley filled kind of falafel I am used to, it was denser and heavier. Also I had some lentil soup which I did not like very much. It had a slight baked bean taste to it. Still, to each his own.

The next time we ran in quickly for some spinach pies which were amazing. Perfectly baked Filo dough crammed with spinach and I am happy to say they did not scrimp on the feta.  They offered to warm them up for us but we were in a rush. Even cold they were so satisfying.

The last time we went we were back to our sampling of mostly appetizers and had a wonderful meal. Try the greek coffee, its a bit like turkish. The place is clean, the staff is friendly and attentive and the price is reasonable.

Fantastic Greek food! The moussaka is great with  perfect squared portions to fill any appetite that comes up. Greek fries are excellent with hand cut fries topped with feta cheese, cooked to a golden brown as expected. The Baklava  is gods gift to Greek Corner amongst many other dishes!!

Its true. You can get a decent meal here without breaking the bank!
Under $15 a person for some fantastic food!
I have grown to really love this place- the only issue is driving to it, and no subway stations nearby- but I'm from MT- I don't like city driving.
The wait staff here are fantastic- the setting is a little off in that its lacking in any intimacy. There is one large dining room with several plain looking tables.
The food is what any meal is really about- so I'll compromise on the decor. The food is amazing here- its just fantastic. and the desert is to die for. How can anybody go wrong?

Lunch at The Greek Corner was delicious. Prices were great, portions were generous, and everything came out quick. The place really crowded, and for good reason! If you're out to try some greek, look no further.

My best friend growing up was Greek, so I've have the great fortune of spending several months in Greece eating food made by a real-life Greek yaya (as in grandma). This place comes pretty close to the real deal. Julie, one of the waitresses, is a perfect complement to the no-nonsense atmosphere. She's pretty hilarious if you get her started...

You want the best Greek food near Boston...well you'll find it here at the Greek Corner!.  I have been dining here for nearly 20 years and I have NEVER had a bad meal.  Always fantastic!  The grilled chicken Gyro is a must! Save room for the Baklava...just too yummy!

Greek Corner is for BALLERS!

This place is great; my boyfriend brought me here the day after Valentines day for a post-romantic gyro . We enjoyed our meal very much.  Our waitress was funny and not at all saccharine; when asked how she was doing, she replied, "God, I just can't wait to get out of here!  I've been here since 10:30 this morning!"  It was 9:30 PM, so we chuckled and left a big tip, because working in a restaurant for nearly 12 hours ain't a holiday.

We started with the spinach pie (Spanakopitawhaaa?) and had scarfed it almost before the waitress set it down.  We sat around lazily checking out the decor whilst waiting for our gyros, flagging down another waitress to ask for pita bread (we were starving; also, we are total fatties).  Our gyros barely lasted 5 minutes.  We rose from the table feeling satisfied but not overly stuffed, a sure sign of effective comfort food.

The best part?  Our meal barely hit the $20 mark.  My boyfriend had enough $$ left over to buy me a Porsche.

I thought this place was very authentic.  I hadn't had Greek food in a long time and was very happy with the food quality as well as the atmosphere.   I lived in Greece for two year back in the 1980s and miss the whole eating experience, this was as close as I've seen in the U.S.

The Tzatziki, fried zucchini and Spanakopita were very good.  I think I ordered one of everything, I sat there and ate as much as I could hold.

The waitress, while very attractive she wasn't real friendly.

Overall this was a great place to get real Greek food.

I love the Feta Melt. It comes with big slices of tomatoes in a gyro wrap...mmm! Yum!

Also, get a Greek beer. Just do it -- really! I like going to this place for lunch with a friend for something different (other than a cafe or a burrito). Prices aren't bad, food is satisfying.

My boyfriend and I love this place. The atmosphere is not pretentious, our server is always extremely nice and I love the fact that they have frappe. Just like the ones that I force his cousin to make me everytime I'm over her house! Yes, I force her. If you have not tried it, you must. It's a whole different coffee experience! And being the caffeine junkie that I am, I give up my Starbucks and dunkies for this.

On to the food, the boyfriend loves the gyro. He says it reminds him of the home he gets back home. So, being that I've never gone to Greece, I'll take his word for it. I always find the food pretty good, a lot like the one we get at his family house and the atmosphere is more of a comfort food type. I have to say, I love their fried zucchini's and hummus. I'm so addicted to their hummus. My favorite dish there is their vegetarian plate (and I'm not even vegetarian!).

All in all, I always leave there with my wallet still intake, my stomach full and with a smile on my face.

Love this place. It's nothing fancy - but they do what they do quite well. They offer simple, reliable, delicious, and unpretentious food. Don't miss the falafel (sooo goood), hummus, village salad, gyros, and the greek beer.

I have to agree with the "Yes" vote for Greek Corner as a good place for good Greek comfort food. Not only is the food proper Greek food, more 'authentic' and yummier than many Greek places in the area, but the people are really nice. They are friendly, professional, and when we wanted them to cater some of our events for the Hellenic Society when I was at Tufts, they were really accomodating, helpful, and overall wonderful.

If you're craving good melitzanosalata, taramosalata, tzatziki, souvlaki, gyros, spanakopita, dolmades, etc. you can get it here, and the moussaka and pastitzio are ok. I am very happy that they had saganaki and marinated octopus too, and they even have frappes. My Greek bf and his gaggle of Athenians approve, and agapi mou was so thrilled that they actually have galaktoboureko here!

There is a slight amount of strange americanized influence - they are the requisites like hamburgers on the menu. They also have tabbouleh on the menu and although my bf and I constantly argue over what's 'really' Lebanese vs. Greek, I know that we Arabs claim tabbouli not the Greeks! It's just standard basic Greek food, nothing super fancy or special, but what they do make is good and very reasonably priced. A good place to go when you're craving some tastes from, well, the Greek Corner of the Mediterranean.

Yes yes yes yes yes yes YES.

OK, being a Greek-American, I've been to way more Greek restaurants and diner-style places than I'd care to count. So when I moved to Davis and saw the blue-and-white exterior with the ancient Greek-style lettering and neon-columned windows, all I could think was "uh oh."

Boy, that was stupid of me! I was really pleasantly surprised by the decor and the FOOD (which, you know, in a restaurant is kind of important)!  For one thing, the decor inside is a lot more toned-down than I was expecting.
You won't find in here: Corinthian faux-marble columns and fountain-statues of Athina/Apollo/Zeus holding a wax model of the special of the day.
You will find in here: Subtle wall decorations (like traditional Greek cooking utensils), just one wall mural.  This place won't assault your sense of aesthetics!

The food is wide-ranging, though overall pretty basic and homey, just the way most Greeks like it.  Gyro, souvlaki, pita, meze -- all delicious and well-cooked.

Their melitzanosalata (eggplant salad) had a lot of garlic and tomato in it, which was awesome. You can't go nuts with some staples like gyro or souvlaki, but their appetizers showed a lot of creativity.

Skip the "greek salad" (lettuce salad with feta cheese is  not Greek--Greeks don't eat lettuce salad! it's an Americanism, like the fortune cookie or chop suey) and get some of the eggplant salad or taramosalata with pita.  That's how it's really done, Greek-style.

In the end, the Greek Corner is comfort food. It's nothing sophisticated, but it's filling, delicious and cheap -- and sometimes that's all you want.

Add my vote to the pile of fellow Greek-Americans who give this place a solid stamp of approval. Next time I have a hankering for some guilt-free gyro, I'm heading to the Corner.

Hooray for greek food!

Greek food is that dirty little secret kind of eating. Like "shhh... I'm eating Greek food, don't look at me like that!"

I ordered a gyro plate with fries, and the gyro was excellent, but the fries were a bit meh. Too greasy! So pretty much typical greek food, eh? Fine by me, because I love those crazy wraps.

Unfortunately, Greek music flounced through out the restaurant. Now this would've been all fine and well if not for one thing; the movie/television show/etc; Borat. Every single song that got pumped through the sound system made me want to talk about disco dancing, sitting on comfortable chairs, or perhaps ping-pong. Every song sounds like a variant of the music before it. I'm quite sure there's a bunch of delicate groupings and so on and so forth that I am not accustomed to, but until that day, anything east of Italy and west of, say Mongolia, will make me think of Borat.

Service was spotty at best, but I was also there at 4:00 PM on a Saturday so I'm not going to delete much, but it was a little insulting that we had to take the check to the front counter after waiting 10 minutes.

I'd go again, but next time it's gonna be takeout.

Fantastic. Inexpensive. Great for take-out or eating in. I usually do take-out because I use them mainly after a long day at work when I'm too tired to cook. I love, love, love the sqordfish kabob dinner, the chicken kabob dinner, the liquid heaven avoglemano soup, and the greek salad. Most dinner platters some with their yummy yellow rice and a huge scoop of salad, plus pita bread, which I always use to make tiny swordfish sandwiches with a little rice, salad, and fish... then roll it up and mmm.. so good. Plus, really good greek beer, and a truly awesome appetizer-to-share sampler that comes with a mix of all things delicious that you dip your pita bread into and hope you don't spill all over yourself.
Totally recommended, and I feel lucky to live right around the corner.

I want to like Greek Corner, I really do. It is two blocks from where I grew up. I love North Cambridge and want to support family business there. I have tried over and over to have a decent relationship with Greek Corner, but it just isn't good. There I said it. I feel better.

The service is rushed. Fine. The atmosphere is awful. Fine.  Oh, but the lamb? How could you be so dry? How could you hurt me so? I love you lamb and you seem to love me back anywhere else. However when we meet at the Greek Corner you never come through. NEVER. Thanks a lot.

Yassouuu! Greek Corner is the BEST! I love this place. I have been going here for years and have never once been disappointed. The food is great, owners are very nice and the staff is nice as well. Some favorites are the Avgolemono Soup (Egg-Lemon soup), Souvlaki, Saganaki (Fried cheese), Gyro dinners, Kalamarakia Tiganita (basically fried calamari) and GREAT pastichio!!!..And the sweets, don't forget those! Greek Corner has great authentic rice pudding and flan...both to die for! Everything you could ask for and more..Great family atmosphere or great to bring your special someone for a cozy little dinner.

1 Corner Special with fries and a Mythos, please.

Thank you!

This is now the only thing I ever get there, and it gets 5 stars, easy.

I did have one experience, some time ago, with browned and gross lettuce in a Greek salad. I complained, they gave me a new salad, and I didn't go back in there for quite some time. Now I love it, though.

Ugh. I call this place "Grease Corner" because there is so much grease on the sidewalk outside their kitchen that it literally gets slippery when it rains!

I walk past this place all the time, and when the weather is decent they have the back kitchen door open all the time. The kitchen is filthy, and there are always holes in the screen door allowing free access to flies etc. I've also seen cases of chicken sitting outside on the sidewalk for several hours after delivery, in weather that is well above freezing. It's beyond me how this place hasn't been shut down. Please don't eat here ... I'll worry about you!

Love the Greek Corner. Cheap, fast, pretty murals on the wall, delcious tzatziki. They did give me the wrong meat in my gyro once, but when I told them they quickly whipped up exactly what I ordered and let us keep the other gyro free of charge, so I can't complain.

how can you not love goerge and his employees 4 stars?  they work hard, they have very reasonable prices and the food is consistently good.  its not epic, but its always good.

the atmosphere is very budget but i prefer it as long as the prices are fare.  they have good vegetarian and even vegan options and are always friendly.

it doesnt look like it but they do serve beer and wine and their
tzatziki is the best i have had in boston.  i even brought some to my 85 year old grandmother from greece and she loves it.

this place is better for lunch than dinner.  if i had to drive out to it, i probably wouldnt go, but if you can walk, hit it and hit it often!

PS - it really helps to know what to order... for example, i stay away from the swordfish kabobs... i dont think they get turned over enough... not so sure how the fish is...

Greek Corner has saved my life during these last two days. Because of circumstances beyond my control, I have been unable to cook in my house, and so I have had to rely on take-out. And what awesome take-out Greek Corner has to offer! They are quick, clean, and always friendly. Their Greek Salad is simple and sweet, and their "Special" Gyro (made with beef and lamb) is not only mouth wateringly delicious, but is also enough for two meals. I may go Greek again tomorrow...

Fantastic food.  The service can be a little slow so I usually get it to go.  I highly recommend the Gyro plate as well as the lemon egg drop soup that begins with "A" that I would butcher if I tried to pronounce, spell, etc...

Prices are reasonable and portions are large.  The Gyro plate will usually take me from dinner to leftover lunch.

I can't say enough about this little gem. I've been going there for 5 years and everyone I have ever brought has fallen in love with this place.
Get the sampler platter, the baked lamb to split, and a bottle of Anastasi Red and you're out of there for under $45- and you'll be stuffed. Just a quick walk down the bike path from Davis. You can't get a better deal.

Decided to try this place out after reading the reviews on Yelp and I was definitely NOT disappointed. Small, causal atmosphere that is complimented by great food.  Gyros plate was excellent and service was quick and friendly.

Needless to say, I'll definitely be coming back to try more of their dishes.

Greek Corner used to be a regular stop for family dinners because my parents live near Fresh Pond and I used to go to Tufts. The reason I give G.C. 4 stars is not because of the decor or service (simple and slow), but because they have damn good Greek food. Although at the time I didn't care a recent visit (with out parents) reminded what a bargain the prices are as well. It seems like there aren't that many Greek restaurants in Boston, let alone good one, so if you can deal with tight quarters and slow service, G.C. is a MUST.

Love it!

Highly recommend the chicken gyro. Although everyone else at my work swears by the Corner Special (lamb gyro)... I can't really testify personally because I don't like lamb.

Excellent gyros at an awesome price. They use pita from a company in NY. it's like the ones used in Greece. Their Egg-Lemon soup is also superb. I'd pass on the Saganaki and other meat plates from side 2 of the menu. The kebabs are rather dry and the rice pilaf had no taste. Also too bad that the salad is not better.  Nice family atmosphere with friendly staff, but service can get really slow during busy times.

Amazing food for a great price. I have tried more upscale Greek restaurants, but have always been disappointed. The Greek Corner never lets me down with their yummy egg soup and chicken gyro's our delicious. If your lucky enough to get there when they have not sold out of their pastries buy one it will expand your taste buds to bacchanal like proportions.

This place has been a personal favorite and I look forward to returning again and again.

Not a very romantic setting, but very rustic with its brick walls and a big mural of an Aegean panorama. This is a great place to go if you are tight for time because the service is FAST, but not so much as to decrease the quality of the food.
Save the pita bread for your main course, as many of their dishes are served over a big Greek salad with rice pilaf and feta cheese, great for making pita pockets! I highly recommend the gyros, fried calamari or the moussaka. I often order the vegetarian combo platter, served with hummus, falafel, grape leaves and spinach pie over salad. No wonder the Mediterranean folk live so long; their cuisine is a far cry from the buttered-up Western traditions. Be sure to finish with a bowl of rice pudding and you'll feel good inside for the rest of the night. As for your wallet the same feeling applies. Thinking Greek? Think Greek Corner!

Went with the in-laws for a lunch.  The generously-sized appetizers of tzatziki and taramasalata were raved about around the table (from folks who were thoroughly apprehensive when I suggested them), and the souvlaki, gyros and roast lamb were all hits.  And a bargain at less than $75 for four people, including drinks and tip!

We'll definitely be going back.
