Once again, you lovely Yelpers know how to pick 'em.

So, about two years ago I sprained my foot pretty badly and every once in a while it gets sore, but it's never a big deal and I've learned to live with it. In the last few weeks it has been increasingly sore, more than usual. When the pain started spreading and then a friend pointed out it looked swollen I resigned myself to the fact that I needed to make sure things were okay, even though I was still completely functional.

I emailed them through the site, and after Patrick and I traded a few emails I set up my appointment for Wednesday evening. I arrived for my appointment tonight, and actually sort of tripped through the door - what can I say, I know how to make an entrance? (watch that tiny step up.) Patrick greeted me with, "you must be Jo." I had to laugh, because really? Has news of my lack of coordination already been spread here too?

Patrick is the most awesome office manager EVER. Seriously, I would like to clone him and put him in my pocket so everywhere I go I am treated with the same outstanding service. Patrick actually made what would have been a 4 star review a 5 star review. He made me feel welcome from the get go, and I happened to be carrying a large box (I had ordered some clothes online and didn't have time to drop them at home before coming here) - without asking he went down into their basement and found two bags for me so I could carry my purchases home in less awkward bags and not the big box. How thoughtful and above and beyond is that?! He was also entertaining to talk to while I waited. Just lovely all around.

Ok, so now the reason I was there - Dr. Chris was just as warm and welcoming. He examined my foot, asked me some questions, and made his diagnosis. When I asked him to dumb it down for me, he did without hesitating. Then he gave me some lovely steroids, gave me a few warnings about said steroids, told me what to watch for, and sent me on my way.

I'm very pleased with my entire experience here, and while honestly I hope I never have to go back (who *likes* going to the doctor?), I would be happy to return if it was necessary. Which I hope it never is... No offense, Dr. Chris and Patrick! ;-)

Thank you yelp!  Again, you deliver.

I had an awful foot thing that was completely remedied by the kindness and attentiveness from Dr. Chris and Patrick.

They eased my pain quickly, and we ended up talking about food, cookbooks, and sous vide techniques. I could've stayed and chatted all afternoon.
Extremely professional, compassionate, careful and wonderful in every way.

I wish I knew more people with foot problems so I could refer everyone to them!

Thanks Doc! And, when you end up getting your sous vide machine together, I want to hear all about it!

Amazing team. Patrick is wonderful, friendly, and professional. I couldn't have felt more comfortable.
The office is small and isn't the fanciest, but the doctor and his receptionist are amazing. I had been suffering from a foot "condition" for years and Dr Staehling took care of it right away.
I just called them today to tell them that my insurance just changed and I can't afford to keep refilling the $200 a month prescription, and they had no problem telling me how to go about getting the generic from the pharmacy.
AWESOME!

From 1 to 5 stars? Have I gone mad? Is that a mistake? Am I am Yelp-schiz? No. I think my feet aren't going to hurt any more when I wear my dress shoes.

For those of you who had read this review before today, the gist is Dr. Staehling and I got off to a mis-start (we got off on the wrong foot), and I said so, here.

His office manager, Patrick, contacted me to make things right and make things right, they did.

I went in yesterday with a bag full of shoes' shoes that feel wonderful, and those that hurt my feet, but which I must wear with my suits for work, and the like.

After an examination of my feet, Dr. Staehling reached for my Keen's - the shoes I love and wear frequently when not dressed up. He reached in the shoe; removed the insole, picked up one of my dress shoes and inserted it like an orthotic.

"There, now your dress shoes should feel like your Keen's. How much did those Keen's cost?"

"$60 at DSW," I said, chuckling at this clever solution.

"Well, why not buy a bunch more Keens, remove the insoles, stick them in all of your dress shoes, and be done with it. Custom orthotics will cost far more than $60."

Now how do you not admire a thinking man?

Plus, co-pay waived to make amends.

We're all good.

I went in for an appointment the other day for an ingrown toenail. They were able to get me an appointment right away, at a time that was convenient for me, and they called the next day to follow up on how I was doing. Everyone was friendly and helpful and I felt very comfortable in the environment.

I enjoy going to the dr office for the first time.  The first person talk to/ see is Patrick.  He is wonderful and greets everyone with a friendly smile.   I felt like family on the first visit.  Dr. Staehling is also very friendly and I have full confidence he is committed to providing the best possible care.

Having had many experiences with a couple different podiatrists (one in San Diego where I used to live and one in the burbs where I used to work), Dr. Staehling and Patrick are awesome! Not feeling like driving to the burbs for an ingrown toenail-which I had tried to remove at home and went horribly wrong-I decided to "Yelp" for a new Dr. in the city.

Making an appointment and visiting this office may have been one of the easiest experiences I have ever had at a doctor's office. I was able to download my new patient paperwork off the website, so when I arrived for my appointment, I was taken back immediately. Five minutes and I was on my way home, minus an ingrown toenail and an RX for antibiotics (for my self-inflicted infection).

I was very happy with my experience and highly recommend this practice to anyone needing a podiatrist!

I had a little "accident" when I tripped on my flip flops and ripped open the skin by my toe nail.  I continued to hobble around on it for a week just thinking that it will get better.  Well, it got infected and I was very anxious about having to see a Doctor for this.  I got a referral from my chiropractor to Dr. Staehling at Greater Foot and Ankle.  Dr. Staehling was very good at calming my nerves and walking me step by step what was going to happen.  He prescribed me antibiotics and set me up for my minor "surgery" a week later.  As much as a shot in your foot hurts---Dr. Staehling did an excellent job and with in 2 days my foot felt back to normal.  I highly recommend them.  Patrick, his office manager, is very personable and efficient and overall it was a great experience.

Who knew going to the foot doctor could be an enjoyable experience ?.

I called because I was having shin splints and was able to make an appointment that day - even though it was my first visit to the doctor ! Dr. Staehling, and Patrick, the office assistant, are two of the nicest people I have met.  They were both so helpful and friendly that I was almost kind of sad when my shin splints were gone because it meant I wouldn't get to see those guys anymore.

They are closed on Saturday and Sunday. However they are open until 6 Tues - Thurs.so I've never had a problem a making an appointment after work during the week.

It gets more and more difficult to find receptionists who are nice on the phone and in person.  Patrick is really sweet and he and Dr. Staehling have been very accommodating me after work to fit me in.  I felt so bad since I saw Dr. Staehling getting up from sitting in the floor waiting for me.  He's so patient and I felt like a kid when he told me that I handled a slightly painful procedure really well - like yay, good job for me!  He can also help out with any other type of running problem as well.  It's good to know that there's a great foot doctor in town!

Without rehashing all the other glowing reviews here, I'll just say this. What I want out of a doctor of any kind is: Fast, professional, attentive, effective, courteous. Greater Chicago Foot & Ankle gets 5 stars on each one (plus a few others). I recently completed a 100% effective course of treatment there. Outstanding work, exceptional overall experience.

I had a muscle strain in my leg and have been to Dr. Staehling twice now.  His advice and treatment are spot on and my leg has been improving nicely.  The office is super easy to deal with -- it's no problem getting an appointment and I've never been kept waiting.

this is the place to go - no question!  i called and got a same-day appointment and was met by a very entertaining receptionist (patrick).  dr. chris saw me immediately and took the time to make sure that i had all my questions answered.  his diagnosis and treatment plan were very clear, and i was back and moving again within the week as the doctor said.

i only wish all of my other doctors had an office set up like this - efficient, friendly, and focused on me.  i cant recommend it enough.

I never thought that a trip to the podiatrist (or any doctor, for that matter) could be pleasant...but this place really proved me wrong.  When I called to make my appointment, Patrick was amazingly helpful and cheerful - and he got me an appointment for that same day.

Dr. Staehling was very knowledgeable and gentle (which is very important when you're dealing with feet).  He fixed a toenail that had been bothering me for weeks in two minutes.  He was also more than happy to answer all of my questions, and he and Patrick even gave me a pharmacy and GP recommendation.  I would definitely refer anyone in need of some foot care to this place.  Excellent all around.

Nice place, nice people.  Dr. Staehling used to make house calls  to take care of my parents' feet when they were unable to get out to his office.  One of his specialties is diabetic foot care, and he uses anodyne therapy in cases of diabetic or non-diabetic neuropathy to relieve pain  and restore sensation.
