I REALLY missed this place! My sister used to live in Idaho where they had a Great Harvest and I fell in love with it as soon as I savored my first slice of bread there. I was missing it when I was in LA (the nearest one was so far away...). There's one thing that I found in Boulder that I couldn't have in LA and it's the Great Harvest Bread Co.!!
I've never had their sandwiches but I've had their apple crisp bread (very yummy), peanut butter oatmeal chocolate chip cookie (very nice), and their pumpkin chocolate chip muffin (if they went lighter on the cinnamon it would've tasted better). I also bought their biscottis which was the only thing I was truly disappointed with. These are not real biscottis, they're very eggy. I like it when biscottis taste butterier and not eggier like this one. I've been eating them while I tell myself that they're not biscottis and it seems to be working. I can enjoy them for what they are. Just don't expect genuine biscottis here. It's very hard to find fresh, good biscottis anywhere you go, which is why I jumped at these pack of them. I think I'm just going to have to continue baking my own biscottis until I find a good place for good ones.
Over all though, I LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!
But..., I also (like Sam H.) did not get offered a free slice of bread! Wassupwidat! Do they smell Californians and avoid us? hahaha....

Went here for a sandwich at lunch time. Delicious Turkey on fresh Sunflower WW.
This place is walking distance from work and I will definitely come gain.
Some weird things that prevented me from rating it at 5 stars.
1) No option for light Mayo
2) Only four toppings are included for the normal price (I go crazy with olives, peppercinis, sprouts, pickles, lettuce, tomato, onions, etc.)
3) No option to add Avocado (this may be a CA thing)
4) It's a bakery, so it can get pretty warm in there.
Staff was very friendly and service was prompt. Their breads looked delicious, and of course steaming hot fresh.
Note - They only serve sandwiches from 11-3 PM.
Check it out!
Update -------------- I did not get offered a free piece of bread!!!! That is okay though, I had to struggle to finish the sandwich =).

Great Harvest has great food and great service! Their sandwiches and brownies are really good. The bread there is amazing! The pecan cinnamon swirl bread is the best by far. Scott the owner is awesome, and he makes you feel right at home!

I once had a really great sandwich here say, 3 or 4 years ago. It may have even contained meat (!) oh snap. But then, I came here like, one week ago--because I was hungry--AND the deli was closed AND I was screwed, because I was so hungry and did not want sushi again and had no groceries. Believe the bakery was still open, but who is going to go around eating a solid slab of carb in this high protein era? So, basically the Great Harvest Bread Co. is dank as far as bread + bakery types go...but don't go expecting all your dreams to come true or something.
A really wonderful buisness that it is a pleasure to shop at. Great sandwiches for lunch ... and it gives you a good excuse to get one of their HUGE brownies. Always take advantage of the free slice of bread whenever you buy anything. The bread and muffins are, of course, wonderful.
Not for those on low-carb diets!
