Me and one of my best friends volunteer here and I'd like to let my fellow Yelpers in on this little secret. It's an awesome place, they take care of lions, tigers, bears and other exotic animals that have been displaced due to neglect, abandonment, abuse or legal matters..

Rob Craig and Laura Proper are the founders of the sanctuary and are truly outstanding people. They dedicate their lives to these amazing creatures. Mike VI, the LSU Tiger mascot was born at Great Cats and they were also featured on Animal Planet's "Growing Up Tiger."

It's about a 2 hour drive from Downtown and real close to Indiana Beach. If you live nearby maybe you could even think about volunteering. If those options are not in your future than I would hope you do donate on the website, because every dollar helps provide food, shelter and care for these amazing creatures.
