So, we are driving down the road en route to Glacier National Park.  The big question on our minds as we started our vacation was "were we going to see bears."  Then we passed the Great Bear Adventure.  They guaranteed we would see bears and proclaimed that our car would be our cage.  So, they sucked us in and I shelled out about $24 to drive into their park.

You drive around their small park around trees and into two areas surrounded by electrified fences.  Once inside the fences, there is nothing between the bears and you except your car window.

The bears were big and fat.  They had about three black bears roaming around.  What kind of ruined the experience for us was seeing a worker roaming around in the enclosure with the bears.  It was hard for us to feel we were seeing predators in the wild when this is what we saw.  They holler at us to completely roll up our windows.  I did not see the need but followed their instructions.  I googled this place and found out that back in 2004 a grizzly they had busted out a car window.  Sadly, there were no grizzly's at the park, but you probably should follow their rules all the same.

Ultimately, we were at the start of our vacation.  We ended up seeing bears in the wild, which was awesome and scary.  Had we seen the bears in the wild before going here, there would have been no need to stop.

In the end, it was a fun stop, though this place defines tourist trap.

Always good to take the kids to see how some people imprison wild animals for profit. Zoos at least have some redeeming qualities. These people do not.
