Good dive bar with friendly wait staff and bartenders. Great place to go with a group of people or just by yourself.  Everybody that works there makes you feel comfortable and welcome. The food can tend to be a bit up and down but the kitchen seems to be solid as of late.

A good neighborhood bar.

We stopped by here instead of Graveyard this last Friday because Graveyard is getting a bit too crowded for my liking.  Gravity Pub is a lot more low-key and you can actually hear the people next to you talk without having to yell to loud.  The place is small, divey, rather clean and the bathrooms were cleaner than you would imagine them to be.

We had a nice table in the middle, some good tunes were blaring from the jukebox all night (my favorite being WEEN).  It is a nice place to go out with a decent group of friends if you want to sit, talk and not get too crazy.  Fast service was had all night and the people around us were friendly.  Some guy accidentally spilled a beer on us and he bought our friend a PBR as an "I'm sorry" gesture.  I hear Thursday nights here are pretty fun with Karaoke being belted out to songs by Seal in heavy metal fashion.  I will be checking that out this upcoming week...

Haven't done much here exept enjoy a few pints and play pinball but they've got a great one at last visit and a good vibe.

Pinball as of 2/1/09 - Spiderman.  This is a great machine!  Terrific flow, effects and multiballs and a center post make this one of my favorites.  When last I was here, everything was in great shape mechanically (unlike Rocky Mt Pizza with the same game).

I ended up here after meeting up with a few friends on Thursday. Luckily Thursday at Gravity is Karaoke night.

I only had a few drinks, and didn't have the energy to get on stage, but the people that did were all entertaining in their own way. The crowd was in a good mood, and overall it was fun.

Beware of the blind dog walking around. He's really sweet, but can end up directly behind you.

Corn pups and tots is the way to go!

Good bar food, awesome staff, a bit squished, but I don't care.

The only thing that sucks is the capacity of 49 people.  Please don't make me stand or I may end up at Graveyard!

Jeez Louise, this place is the mad nasty. It is a black hole of many sorts: hot as hell from no a/c, zero cell phone reception, awful mixed drinks and weird cheese on the food. Both times I've been here I felt like I'd stumbled into someone's basement where they go to throw darts and hide their trash.

The decor is secondhand booths and stools with a back wall of used books and other knick knacks. Seriously, if you go here, don't have anything but the beer: their drinks be stank.

Their food prices are amazingly cheap. $4 buys a sandwich with tots. Avoid the sandwiches with cheese as I've been told it's rather nasty. Some nights they do $1 tacos which are pretty tasty but small: like something out of your high school cafeteria.

On Tuesday nights from 10 to 1 they do beer bingo where you play bingo with a pretty entertaining MC and the winners get funny prizes and then if they can answer a bonus trivia question you get a free drink. Fun for a while, but still doesn't cover over the place's total dive feel and punky customers.

If you don't mind seeing a cockroach climbing on an obnoxious stranger's arm and they are too drunk to know it, this is your place.

Yeah, it isn't clean, nor is it my first choice of places to go in Atlanta, but it's not the worst.  My own private hell would be a night in Buckhead, but that's another story.

But the Gravity Pub will help you get drunk if that is your aim, but be sure to order your next drink while you are still halfway done with your current one because you will be finished with it by the time it comes.

If you're looking for a pub that greets you with a sigh of despair, an atmosphere of low morale and a night you'll look back on with sheer and utter disappointment, Gravity Pub has got you covered!

If you prefer a staff sees customers and thinks "Great...Now I have to do stuff," and offers service with a FROWN, You'll love Gravity Pub!

The place was once a lively, unique establishment - The first time I went there, we all got hammered, played old school Atari, and two guys almost got in a fight over the game "Asteroids".  It was a friggin blast!

Today, however, Gravity Pub has not only hit rock bottom, it actually BURROWED IN a few feet.

"That was cool, I should go there more often." is the exact OPPOSITE of the impression this place will leave you with.

Two words sum up this establishment: Weak Sauce.

I was here for a private party in the basement (well, I guess it was private. I got my hand stamped, but I think anyone could have made it in), so I didn't get the FULL effect of the regular bar, but I did get to spend quite a bit of time upstairs waiting in line for the 1 ladies room in the place!

This bar was actually pretty neat... I haven't spent too much time in East Atlanta, but still am familiar with the vibe. If you aren't, prepared to see a lot of "alternative" folk hanging out here - I saw Doc Martens the likes of which I haven't encountered since 1997. Lucky for me, I can totally jive with that. I'm pretty average looking now, but I went through every phase in the book, from goth to raver and back, in high school. Needless to say, I love the variety of people that you see out in East Atlanta and places like Gravity Pub. To me, it's much more refreshing than the typical Midtown/Buckhead crowd.

Also - LOVED the library looking area back by the dart boards. Nice touch, Gravity Pub.

Worth the trip if you're looking for some variety.

We parked for free across the street in a large lot by Wachovia.

Ok - stopped back in last night when in the neighborhood. I still love it...and now even more. I have always gotten the grilled cheese here if I eat here, but this time...with all our healthy attitudes in the new year, the boy and I ordered sin on a bun: The mulligan - all beef hot dog wrapped in cheddar, wrapped in 1/4# of ground beef, deep fried, served on a hoagie bun and then smothered in chili and cheddar...oh and french fries, tater tots, multiple Guinness and Bass and four shots of jack...

Holy Doo Doo it was good. All of it. I can still taste it this morning, but my tummy doesn't hurt = quality ingrediants. (My arteries do hurt.) The tots by the way were delightfully crisp. The irony was after eating and drinking we went to a friend's house nearby and played "Dance Dance Revolution" till like 1 am...with all of the + more beer in our tummies!!!

And of course the jukebox where we played a mix of: White stripes, Dolly Parton, Joy Division, The Smiths, Queen, Loretta Lynn, Iggy Pop and more...

All of this = another star.

----------------------
I love this bar. It is my favorite of all the places in East Atlanta. Now if you like shiny expensive places serving pastel hued cocktails, this aint the place for you. But if you like watching the simpsons, drinking beer, and eating really cheap grilled cheese sandwiches, come on in.

I always feel so relaxed here. Last night I commented to the boy that the place was great because they don't expect anything from you. I don't have to wear a cool outift. I don't have to know the names of every cool indie band, and I don't have to have an attitude or alot of money. Yeah it's a little smarmy, but I like that. I like sitting at a bar and NOT sucking in my stomach, or caring if I spill a little beer down my shirt.

Now the other couple we were with actually met here and are now married...so I guess you can pick up folks here too! And I do miss the creepy basement where you could play pool and pretty much hang out by yourself down there. Lots of places have come and gone, but the Gravity Pub is still there. Let's hope it stays forever.

The basement is frightening. The first time I went into the basement to check out the juke box and the pool table, I had the unshakable feeling someone would yell "It puts the lotion in the basket!" to me from a hole above. I was with a few architects, and they started pointing out the myriad reasons the place should be falling apart. Good times!

The fried mushrooms are awesome. I could eat those constantly, especially since they are the safest item on the menu to order. The last time I had a burger, it tasted like they had cooked it in the deep fryer with the fries (it's an old line cook trick of how to keep cleaning your flat top grill and still make burgers).

Bingo is on Tuesdays at 9 PM, the prizes are entertaining to say the least. Gravity isn't going to be for everybody, but it has character and it's a good spot to hang out, have a few beers, and keep a low profile.

My favorite dive bar in town.  Reminds me a little of the old Stein Club that used to be on W. Peachtree in Midtown, only more of a dive and it's in EAV.  Great beer selection for a place this small, whether you feel like an Optimator or a PBR.  Torn red pleather, cheesy geek paraphanalia on the walls, good juke box and great staff and patrons make this my favorite place to hang out with a few friends in the Villiage.  If they're closed the night you swing by, don't get discouraged.  They'll be back in a week or so (I hope).

Gravity Pub is the neighborhood bar of choice for East Atlantans who don't want to risk the loud volume of The Earl. This more homey spot offers weekly bingo and trivia, old school arcade games like Galaga and Frogger, and, of course, video hunt (one of the greatest bar games ever invented).

The food is bar food. It's not as good as the grub at The Earl, but better than the microwave fare at Phoenix.

This is my favorite bar in Atlanta.  It has all sorts of interesting people in and out of there.  The drinks are moderately priced and the beer is free flowing.  The bartenders are cool and will actually do shots with you.  The owner was always really cool too.  Now that I live in LA I miss this place a lot.

Unfortunately I'm only giving this place 3 stars.  This used to be my favorite pub in the EAV, but everytime I go there, something changes.  Some 4 or 5 years ago, it was a great bohemian type place to chill out with a really cool downstairs basement that had a pool table, some racing games, and Galaga 5 (or some crazy-ass version like that).  Then Galaga broke, the pool table got worn out, and eventually they had to close the downstairs all together because it was violating god knows how many fire codes.  The last time I was there, it looked like they had all new bartenders and wait staff which is too bad because Meredith was the absolutely most kick-ass barrista in the ATL.  She might still work there, I don't know, but it ain't the same pub I fell in love with a long time ago.
