6 reviews for Grassano's Pizza
The pizza is great, but if you're calling in for delivery have them repeat the order back to you. We order pretty much every week & just about every other week we get the wrong pizza delivered--thin crust instead of deep dish, sausage instead of extra sauce. Back in the day this was never the case & I would have given them 5 stars, but in the last 2-3 years they've started to slip. A credit for my next order is great, but what am I supposed to do with my 6 hungry friends that were expecting a large deep dish, extra sauce, not a large thin crust with sausage? The wait staff are sweethearts, but it seems like the teenagers they've got answering the phones don't pay attention to orders.
Their sauce is good--but there seems to be some consistency issues recently. Some days we get a GREAT pizza, sometimes we don't and the sauce tastes burnt?
True to back in the day, their pizza puffs are HUGE.
Yes service is lacking, sometimes over run with teeny boppers cramming those cheap ass pizza puffs down there throat, but having said that I am usually quite satisfied with the thin crust, not overloaded, not to sweet, certainly not the go to place when you are really craving a pie, but it won't kill you to throw them a bone once in a while. As far as the pizza puffs go, I have never tried one, and never will, they look like a big pillow of dough fried and stuffed, but the dough is not " I don't think any way" pizza dough, it looks like frozen puff pastry. Cheap beer specials, keep this place on my list as well. Prolly a 2 star joint but I don't have it in me to slam a mom and pop, who work so hard at mediocrity .
You know, the four stars represents how good this place was four years ago when I lived on the S.Side. The pizza sauce was sweet, the cheese was high quality, and the ingredients were top notch. The pizza puffs were amazing, bigger than a burrito, and came fried or baked.
One warning though... I did make it back there about a year ago and the quality had slid.... drastically. I kinda hope that it was just a bad day, but my friends still in the area tell me that it's always like that now. It's too bad, but until I can confirm, four stars remain.
Very plain, generic pizza. There are plenty of other better pizza options in Oak Lawn.
I absolutely love their deep dish pizza and pizza puffs. I usually order out when I decide to have Grassano's and their service hasn't failed me once. Compared to other pizza parlors and restaurants their food is consistent. Prices are very reasonable and there are few parking spots. Inside is cramped and tiny, so make sure you suck in that beer belly.
This place is legendary in the southwest suburbs for their pizza puffs. They are homemade, large, and delcious!!!! It is a perfect place for take out--the inside dining area isn't the greatest. But if you do decide to dine in, they have cheap pitchers of beer along with their delcious pizza. I haven't been here in a few months, but writing this review makes me want to go there right now!!! If you're looking for great, cheap, pizza in the suburbs... look no further!
