wtf, no actual review on the golf course yet?

I had the pleasure of skipping out of work one day, booked a tee-time for 1 player with absolutely no trouble (yes, it is open to the public), and headed over there early to take advantage of the FREE bucket of range balls and practice some putts before my round.  I usually don't pay this much to play golf, but I wanted to treat myself to an "upscale" round that day.

This is a 27 hole course, which is cool because I can play a different mix of holes the next time I visit, after I liquidate a few stocks.  lol j/k, it's not tooo expensive...actually I think it's priced just right.

The price includes a riding cart (because you'd be insane not to take one) and each cart has a sweet GPS system giving you all sorts of info.  I highly recommend you NOT play this course by yourself for your first time, and would be best to bring someone who has been there before.  Due to the changes in elevation, there are numerous holes where you tee off and have no clue where the hole goes.  Can't really figure it out on the GPS map.  I got paired up with a 2 guys who also never played the course.

There was 1 hole where we thought the flag was at one place, we all tee'd off and found that we were waaay wrong.  Our shots ended up on the next tee box...lol.  Then on the hole just after that, not knowing what to expect up ahead, we all hit drivers.  By the grace of god, my ball ended up on the green, pin high, on a par 4!!  When I got to the green, there was danger all over the place, and I would've never hit driver had I known a HUGE DEEP CRAVACE/LAKE was 1 foot away from the right side of the green.  sheesh, talk about lucky.

It's a different feel to play here as opposed to any course down at sea level, mainly because there are no trees to give you a "tunnel" to 1. aim for and 2. block wind.  I felt like I was playing in the clouds.  This in itself made for a great experience.  It's a very tough course, hackers need not apply and should stay home or go bowling or something.

Spectacular views of Boston and the quarry. Came here for our company outing.  So this review could be a bit biased.

Came here for just the driving range.  I think you have to be a member in order to have a go with the actual golf course. I'm not familiar w/golf, but if you were to try this course- on a windy day must be horrible b/c it's so high up. You must catch the extra breeze.

Anyhow, after swinging some balls.. hehe ;)  we ended up at the clubhouse tavern for lunch which is open to the public. The view was just breathtaking.  I wonder  what it would be like on a date for dinner and not with a bunch of meat head co-workers...

Being on the companies dime, I had the lobster ravioli. The ravioli had a nice presentation, unfortunately it was lacking some flavor.  The apps of scallops wrapped in bacon were a good size and delicious. Shrimp cocktail was alright. Service here was pretty attentive and if I remember correctly, the prices weren't so bad either.

Overall, this is one of those places where you could take a special "love interest" to on a nice summer afternoon and hit the range or play a little golf.  Then go have some lunch and some mamosas. Walk around the quarry  only to end up at a quite spot making out profusely while  the sun sets along the Boston lines. ..  Voila..

thank god I had a beautiful view on the deck because the rest of the night wasnt much to write about.we went there for a birthday party and spent 400 dollars for 4 people.the shrimp cocktail was the only good deal.the waitress almost killed me when removing a cork from a bottle of champagne .it shot up hit the ceiling and landed on the table it was funny but really scary.the wait staff were untrained and the manager didnt seem any better,I went there a year ago and hope things have changed since then.I would return strictly for a drink some shrimp cocktail and the view if it wasnt on this beautiful site it would be in http://trouble.it was a beautiful restaurant with basic food.

Attended a Gala for South Shore Daycare Services here at Granite Links in one of their large function rooms.  This was the first year having the gala at this location and it was a huge success - largely due to great space we had.  The foyer and entrance to the ballroom are eloquent and inviting..  the space itself is great for any upscale event.  I especially liked the distant views of the Boston skyline!
