I am with AA. The location cannot be beat. But ...
I used to live near this hotel, and used it when my parents came in from out of town. At the time it was "just acceptable", but now ... geez.
Some people tried to get into the Beach House and somehow found this. I was concerned, but figured take a shot.
This place has augered into the ground.

The person behind the desk has no customer service skills. She over uses video surveillance cameras. She would make a great bar room bouncer in a tough neighborhood. She is not a good receptionist or hostess for a hotel.
The location can't be beat. But if you have the choice--stay somewhere else. This owner-occupied hotel was overpriced for the value, and the owner was downright rude and invasive to both me and my friends. It started with our arrival on a friday night--there were no parking spots available in the garage, so the owner instructed me to park next to a stucco wall and sticking halfway out onto the sidewalk. He was visibly annoyed when I didn't "park close enough" to the wall, and then proceeded to park the car for me--the rearview mirror centimeters away from getting scratched on the wall.
Ok fine. But that wasn't the end. The next day my friends checked in. Only three of them were staying in their room, but the plan was to use the room as a place for a bunch of us to hang out and change from the beach. (no alcohol, music or loud noise was involved with this even). The owner said that he would not allow this many people as guests. My friends got their money back and patronized a hotel down the street (got a MUCH nicer room for less I might add). I later came back from the beach with two of my girl friends (we went in the back way) so that I could change. The owner SAW us from the stairwell camera and called me in the room to inform me that my friends had been "kicked out" and that "one or two guests are ok if I run it by him, but not 5 or 6". Creepy. He also called later, waking me from a delicious nap, to argue about the make and model of my car. "Are you SURE its not a white dodge neon???" "Yes, I am SURE".
The location is central and fantastic, but other than that--NOT WORTH IT.
