Grand Lux is an amazing place to go for a great meal with a huge selection! They're desserts are to die for and their meals are huge so I suggest sharing unless you eat a lot! the prices are very reasonable, and the service is good. Although the atmosphere can be quite loud, if it's a nice night outside I would totally opt for being outside. High ceilings and tiled floor = lots of kitchen noise.
To start with, their appetizer selection is huge! And I believe if you go early on a weekday they have a lower priced, small plates of a select few of the appetizers: Perfection...Of all the dinners I sampled my favorites are the pan roasted chicken (that has an amazing pesto sauce) with mashed potatoes that are to die for, and then one of the juiciest grilled pork chops I've had. The swordfish, when they have it, is delicious. The menu is so large, there has to be someone for anyone here, and since it's so large I haven't been able to sample all. But my boyfriend loves the chicken enchiladas, and my Uncle loved the Mongolian steak =]
Ok, the desserts are awesome! I think my ultimate favorite are the simple, baked to order beignets! Sooo delicious, hot and fluffy doughnuts with powdered sugar that just melts in your mouth! Their creme brulee duo is great that offers a selection for chocolate and vanilla lovers.
My meeting point for girl's night out!! My friends and I have gone here so many times. We always sit in a booth at the bar area because the dining area is to loud and tables to close.
Our experience with service has always been very good...
But then again, we are four ladies ready to have fun!
Their food has always been very consistent which is what I always like. I have never been big on restaurant chains but I must admit, I do love coming here.
The food portions are huge, even though most people would not have realized they did cut their portions down but not their price. It's o.k. though because you still get way to much food.
I love their sourdough bread, be careful it can break your teeth if your not careful. They also have whaet bread if you request.
Their salads and pasta dishes are so good. My ultimate favorite, which is why I love this place is their 'Lasagna"
Not at all like what you think. It is round shells, kind of like small manicotti shells stuffed with grilled chicken, mozzarella cheese, fresh spinach and fresh mushrooms in a very light soft marinara sauce.
One of my friend's favorite is 'Lemon Chicken" she swares it's the best she has ever had.
We normally order a couple of bottles of "Coppola Claret" which is reasonably priced, or special drinks from the bar. The bartenders are good, and very accomadating. I have yet to go for brunch but here it is fantastic.
Wow, deserts are amazing....some take 45 minutes to make, the servers are always nice to ask you if you would like to order ahead of time with your drink order. The best Bread Pudding, I have ever tasted....
Thanks for always making "our girl's night" memorable!!!
Be back soon!!!
I went here for lunch before doing a lot of shopping at the infamous Sawgrass Mills Mall. I've heard a lot of review about it, so I thought I'd give it a try, and gotta say that it was pretty amazing.
As the hostess seated us, I noticed that she was eyeing my clothing. My girlfriend and I were both wearing black pants and as she sat us at our table, she said she would be right back with black napkins. I was a little confused because we had perfectly fine napkins at our table already, but she explained that we should have black ones because white napkins would leave white lint on our black pants. This is something I've never seen before, but I thought that was pretty neat!
I had the ahi tuna burger which I highly recommend. The chocolate molten cake was so rich... I made the mistake of ordering it by myself. These portions are huge, so it could definitely be shared with two or three people.
I liked that the menu was a lot simpler than its affiliate (The Cheesecake factory) and the service was good. Our waiter was very friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. When I returned from the bathroom, I noticed that the waiter had nicely folded my napkin. It seems a little silly, but these kinds of things matter when it comes to medicore and great service.
Waitress was very friendly and suggested things on the menu. I had the Rustic Lasagna on one occasion and the BBQ Salmon on another. Both times, the food was fantastic. The restaurants decor is out of this world and upon arriving, I thought that since it's so beautiful, it's gonna be extremely expensive but to be honest, it's not much more expensive than eating at Chili's or TGIF. This restaurant is a sister to the Cheesecake Factory so the menu and prices are similar. I love this place and would recommend it to anyone! The desserts are made fresh and so they advise you to order it when you order your meal so that it is ready when you are done with your lunch or dinner.
Its like Cheesecake Factory with bling. The atmosphere is very nice and the menu selection has more variety and fancier fair. The dessert requiring pre-order is a must. It takes about 30mins to make so order it when you place your meal order. The food used to be small qty but I think they have started to give more in the past year or so. Now portions are similar to Cheesecake Factory. Quality is great! I will definitely go back. Excellent service.
As many times as I've dined at Grand Lux, I've never felt particularly moved enough by it to write a review. Yes, the food is decent and the service is always pretty good, but all of my Grand Lux experiences have been generally unmemorable. That is, until I dined there on Easter Sunday with the family. For a place that I had previously not thought of as much more than a garden-variety chain restaurant (or at best, a mediocre Cheesecake Factory stunt double), I must say that I was really WOWed on this most recent visit.
I regret greatly not writing down the name of our server, because I would love to be able to recommend him by name. He was knowledgeable about the menu and genuine in the way that he took care of us. We never felt rushed, despite the fact that he had a full section of hungry and demanding guests to attend to. When I ordered my usual sesame tofu with rice and vegetables, the server was sincerely apologetic in informing me that they were out of tofu that afternoon. He then quickly made some recommendations based on my vegetarian diet, and helped me select the vegetarian mushroom burger with a side of fresh spinach for my meal. I'm almost glad the kitchen was out of tofu, because that burger was phenomenal!
Everyone that I dined with was happy with their meal, we all left full and satisfied, and none of us would think twice about returning. I hope all of my future trips to Grand Lux are just as satisfying!
Minus one star for the terrible acoustics (huge open dining room + tables set up really close together = too noisy for a restaurant).
We loved this place service was excellent and bread was awesome we had schnitzel and flat bread chicken these items was to die for, please eat here if you want some good food and plenty left overs
I really don't get it about these restaurants. They're really just an excuse for the folks that own the Cheesecake Factory to open a second location where ever their first locations do too much business, and they just as crowded.
Went there before the Eagles concert and it took them over an hour to seat our party of seven, even though I got there at 6:05pm, which was about 20 minutes BEFORE the concert crowd rush started.
The waiter screwed up half the orders and the food was just ok.
With so many other good choices out there, why bother?
Just when I thought I'd eaten enough to feed an entire family of Lions, I end up eating a late dinner here last Thursday as a way to celebrate my brother's high school graduation.
I cannot believe I ate as much as I did. It was 10:30pm on a Thursday so in order to avoid falling asleep in my food, I decided to order a strawberry margarita, salt on the rim please! The drink was tasty (not as good as Puerto Alegre in SF's mission, but still good). and definitely gave me the kick I was looking for.
Soon after the rest of our guests arrived at the table, our waiter came and got their drinks and introduced himself with a very sensual accent, "my name is Paolo and I will be waiting on you ladies and gentlemen this evening." Paolo, let me just say, you are the answer to my prayers. Just when I thought customer services was dead, here you come and revive it with your perfect smile and impeccably clean apron.
My brother and I shared their HUGE Rib Eye Steak with a side salad and french fries. The steak was delicious, not too salty and perfectly pink inside. The fries were great, they tasted very fresh and just the right amount of crunch. I wish I could cook a steak like that at home, I'd never eat out again (but then I wouldn't be writing yelp reviews anymore).
What can I say, it's great to sit down and enjoy good food and good service after a long day shopping (or window shopping) at the huge Sawgrass Mall.
The food has always been good. Had never had to wait more than 20 minutes for a table, and every time I've been there the waiter/ waitress has been very friendly, helpful and nice.
I've even gotten there just half hour before they close and still the service has been great.
Love their chopped salad, specially since it comes as an appetizer portion which is perfect for me - no left overs though. :p
The Edamame - not a fan. But everything else I've had there I've liked.
3.5 in reality..
so i finally went to grand lux cafe.. basically another cheesecake factory. i was impressed since we had no wait (miracle) and the service was quick and good.
i had the farmhouse egg omelette which was awesome.. covered in pesto and bruschetta!! the others had a club sandwich, eggs benedict and banana pancakes.
i tried everyone dish and they were all good.
what else is there to say.. its a typical higher end chain restaurant..
Mojito, Beef Tips and Molten Chocolate Cake. That's it.
I've tried several things on the menu but that's the perfect combination. This place is kind of like a modern day majestic restaurant. Grand really does belong in the name with the high ceilings and over the top decor.
The food, drinks and environment are all great and everyone knows it. Either make reservations, go in an off meal time hour or have a drink from the bar while you wait a bit for a table.
Meh. It's no Cheesecake Factory.
It's probably one step up from the Cheesecake Factory, but the vibe and menu are pretty similar.
Since I had a big day eating (at my nephew's baptism brunch and my grandma's birthday dinner) planned for the next day, I opted for a plain grilled chicken breast and some brocoli. They were as tasty as a boring meal can be. Service was adequate and prices seemed average.
I see no reason why I'd be back, but it wasn't bad.
This is a favorite of my husband and a safe bet for the family. Even though it's in a huge and busy mall, it's usually not that busy, unless there is a concert or event at the arena next door.
Tonight we piled in the car and the four of us were seated immediately for dinner. The waitress was very attentive, brought us drinks and the warm bread and butter, which is really good, but I was trying to behave. The duck potstickers are really yummy, five to an order. I had the cobb salad, which was very good, and my daughter had the seafood louis salad which is full or crab and shrimp, but a little pricey. Hubby had the Sunday pasta, which was huge and he took half of it home. My son had his favorite, the BBQ salmon on a plank which is always great. It comes with veggies, mashed potatoes, and a few crunchy rings.
We have had dessert in the past and they are usually very good, but passed since we were really stuffed. Every dish we have had in the past is pretty good. I have enjoyed the lunches especially, the soups, the eggs, the sandwiches, yeah I guess this place is a winner.
The service can be hit or miss sometimes. Our waitress disappeared for a long time after we got our check and we were ready to hit the road and tired. The prices are a little high here, but not totally out of control. S
So good. I always have to order their fresh baked cookies. I don't know how they do it, but the cookies are like crack to me. I can't resist.
As others have stated, Grand Lux is Cheesecake Factory's step up. The decor is very similar and so is the menu.
Check the pics I uploaded...cookies and kobe beef hot dogs. Your either a fan or not a fan of CheeseCake....im sure lots of people are because its always so crowded in these restaurants.
I'm very hesitant when it comes to dining at commercial locations. I'm a food snob, what can I say. My friend planned a girl's night at the Grand Lux Cafe recently and I wasn't going to let my snobby-ness [sic] stop me from having a good time. I ordered the Calamari Salad and it was good, it wasn't spectacular or anything. We ordered those Bake to Order Desserts when we ordered our entrées. Our desserts were amazing. I ordered the New Orleans Beignets. Two other girls ordered the Pineapple Upside Down Cake and some Apple thing. We shared our desserts and mine was the star of the show. The other desserts were really tasty, but the beignets were out of this world good!
Surprisingly excellent food for a shopping mall restaurant. The ambiance was great and the service first rate. The hamburgers and fries were tasty and prepared as requested. Warm, freshly-baked bread was provided. The key lime pie was the best I've ever tasted - and we just returned from Key West. Highly recommended.
while i agree that this isn't my first choice for a meal, i have to comment on the beet salad i had. because i love beets, and i find that most people (and places) shy away from them. whether that's due to fear of their pungent flavor, or apprehension about the fact that they turn all of the food on your plate pink, i know not. what i do know is that i came here with me mum for lunch and got the beet and goat cheese salad and it really was great - topped with toasted pistachios, heirloom tomatoes and hazelnut-citrus vinaigrette. of course now i just make the salad at home and save myself $15, but i never would have discovered the great flavor combination were it not for grand lux. so thank you.
Yummy. Service is unpredictable. The wait can be timely ( as the Cheesecake Factory). Just an FYI: Grand Lux owns Cheesecake. It's very much like the Cheescake Factory the difference is: it's more pricey, not as much of a menu selection. It's a more casual, "upscale" Cheescake. I recommend the Asian Nachos, Miso glazed Salmon, etc.
You usually have to wait, and when I went, the service absolutely sucked. Had to flag people down to get our food in a timely manner. Who would have thought you'd have to ask for bread when it's complimentary? One meal was cold and another meal came when everyone else was done - we complained and got those two off our check. Although they were good about that, I'm definitely not going back. there.
When you go here, be sure to get one of their baked to order deserts. They are some of the greatest. Their food in general is very good and their staff is very friendly.
