As you may have read, this is one of the greatest places to go fishing. It's no surprise when the Bassmaster classic has been in SE Louisiana, you can see the world's top fishermen riding around trying their best to catch all kinds of awesome fish.
If you are any kind of a fisherman, this area has to be on your "Top places to fish before you die" list.

This could be a really good park. The location is perfect. Unfortunately, it is one of the worst maintained state parks I have ever seen. I understand that the park had lot's of damage from Katrina, but the bath houses were filthy. They had the same clothes and litter on the floor for the two days I was there. The light over the stairs was out... On the plus side, the spaces are large, close to the beach and there is a no fee Washer and Dryer. They even have picnic tables on the beach, some shaded. They need to get a couple of Work Campers and I think it would be much better.
This is one of the best place to fish in the world. As you can see in the picture. I visited LA in 2005 and we caught three "red fish" in about an hour. We did not have any ice and the fishes are bigger than our cooler so we did not roamed around the park.
Also, my sister told me that they have an annual boating event that is crazier and Wilder than Mardi Gras.
