Nice hotel. Staff was excellent and our two rooms were extra clean and well appointed (one was a corner suite). Stayed 2 nights, used the valet and their shuttle service while we were there. Onyx was a great spot for the wife and I to relax with a drink and look out over the garden.
Found a reasonable rate from a Deal site online as well.
I was happy they let me check in early (1 pm) and got me a king on the club level. The girls at the front desk are wonderful, and always go out of their way to be pleasant (ie. if you walk by the desk).
Please see my blog for more details and reviews.
I did decide I would start running the "Matt Test" to see how Hyatt treats Diamond members. I called the front desk from my cell phone at 7:30 to ask if they had any suites available. The answer was "yes' and the charge was base rate plus $75 or base plus $200 for a really nice one. Interesting.
The gym is decent, has all the equipment necessary.
Room is ok, club is fine but the breakfast choices are limited (some ceral, few bagels, and toast).
Not worth the $229 that I paid.....there was a Hyatt Place a block away for $149.
Total - $229 + taxes = $263.35
The staff here are exceptionally helpful, the rooms are spacious, the beds are exceedingly comfortable. ( I booked through priceline and got a VERY reasonable rate. No complains there.) My ONLY complaint is the parking situation. This district of Atlanta seems to have been entirely knocked down and rebuilt in 1994. There are WIDE expanses of land between the strip malls and faux-fancy hotels paved over with empty parking lots for largely unused retail (read: mattress world, et al. ) which makes it especially frustrating to pay 20 dollars a night for parking. It makes me feel like such a cheap skate to worry about it but, really? Next time I'll just stay downtown (or somewhere more central? Is there such a thing in Atlanta?) save myself the drive/ gas and feel more justified in spending 20 dollars for parking.
This is very nice hotel. I stayed for 7 nights on a business trip. One of the few hotels with expectionally good food overall. All the banquet orders for our business program were very good. The service is outstanding in every area. Room service was very good. Great tasting and fresh food. They would call me every evening an hour after my meal was delivered to make sure it was okay. One night they had some trouble getting my order right, but they took the hiccup off my bill. I didn't get my friendly call that night...hmmm.
Room was very clean, nice layout and decor. There is coffee in the room (individual paper cup kind). Nice mini bar. Plenty of outlets to recharge all your gadgets.
I would have to say that I didn't think the bed was the most comfortable I've slept in. I felt the sheets were too rough and bunched up too much underneath because of the padding, etc. but not a big deal.
Overall, one of the nicest hotels I've ever stayed in.
This hotel is very close to shopping and great restaurants in the area.
I stay at this hotel anywhere between 2-15 days out of the month. The service is fantastic.
1) Room Service is always quick, staff is friendly, and the food is solid.
2) Gym is clean and well maintained
3) Pool is refreshing in the summer and never too crowded
4) Every morning I get coffee from the Onyx Bar, and the barista remembers my drink, remembers our previous conversations, and is just so damn sweet.
5) I hear friday nights 80's night is super fun
6) The beds are SO comfortable. SO insanely comfortable.
I love this hotel.
ZZZZZZZZZ
What a "grand" place to sleep. Went into Atlanta for a week-end. Got a great room rate for what the place is. Quiet. Extremely comfortable bed, and here's the real kicker...Blackout curtains that really black out the room. Sleep for 10 hours (way more than usual for me). Woke at 11:00 (checkout time), because couple we were traveling with knocked on the door to ask if we were packed and ready (obviously not). Wonder how long I'd have slept without that knock on the door. Parking was $20 self-park, $30 valet--kinda on the high side to my notion. Atlanta isn't as tight parking space-wise as New Orleans, and parking at New Orleans Hotels isn't this high.
Quite a luxurious - and expensive - stay. The hotel was clean, and the concierge and bell service were supurb.
Room has excellent amenities, including a bed you just sink into and never want to leave, as well as an alarm clock that is compatible with your iPod. There's also a complimentary hotel shuttle to any destination within 2 miles.
My only complaints are the noise from the construction of the Terminus tower next door and the price for self parking - $17 per day! If you're going to drive and have a lot of luggage, do make use of the $24 valet parking. The parking lot is separate from the hotel and is a hikee to the lobby if you're dragging things around with you.
They have a car that will drive you around, so you can pay $5 (tip) instead of $8 (flat rate cab ride) + tip to get dinner or snacktown. They also put potpourri in all the rooms, but when you call to be relocated to another room, they pretend to not know what "potpourri" is, insist it will not be in your second room, and then watch on security cameras as you round it up and put it in the hallway.
Stayed at this hotel recently for a company conference and really liked it. Great front desk staff, decent sized rooms, comfy beds, and spacious bathrooms. I'd definitely stay again if work ever brings me back to Buckhead.
Simply stated, quite Grand! I loved their newly furnished gym, the equipment was up to date and clean. The rooms on the Diamond guest floors were well appointed, and they had awesome views of the city. My only complain was initially finding the hotel self-parking spot.
I've stayed here twice for work as my company is based out of Atlanta. The staff is absolutely top notch and the rooms are spacious, the beds are comfy and the hotel clean, modern and simply a joy to stay at.
