If I could afford it, I'd move in.
The rooms are huge. Linens are perfect. The bathroom has a sep shower (with dualing massage shower heads) and bath (with TV at the foot of the tub). Very luxurious. Very much a pampering kind of place and very classy.
They were under construction while I stayed there, but I didn't hear any noise (10th floor). The regular entrance was blocked off, so we used the temporary entrance by the health club. The interior of the hotel is beautiful.
Will be back.
The experience at the Grand Hotel was memorable. Did not have to go through a lengthy automated system to talk to an operator. The persons spoken to, took the time to answer all my questions (and trust me I had a few). The check-in process was quick, friendly and courteous.
Everyone expects to be treated hospitably at a hotel, but the staff at the Grand hotel were exceptionally hospitable and I'd recommend this hotel to anybody considering it. Oh, and by the way since there was roadwork outside the hotel, they provided complimentary shoe shine service. Attention to the details is what usually contributes to a positive experience, and this is just an example of how the Grand hotel does that.
Located a few blocks off of Hennepin Ave, this is a perfect place to stay after an evening of enjoying one of the many events or restaurants in downtown. A nice walk on a late fall evening. The lobby is nicely decorated but unassuming, the staff is friendly and efficient. Nicely decorated, quiet rooms. One of the MOST comfortable hotel beds I've ever slept in. Great coffee.
I love this hotel. It's so romantic...especially the suites. The settee at the end of the bed is the most beautiful piece of furniture in the room.
You'll feel like royalty here.
The room rates seem a bit lower than some of the other luxury hotels around town.
Also, I've coordinated a board meeting held at the Grand Hotel, and the service was spectacular. The catering manager bent over backward and helped me choose a customized menu. There was a hiccup with the valet parking, but I was told that the valet service is a different company.
