HOTEL REVIEWS

Good enough for a quick overnighter.

Stayed here overnight. Rooms are clean but for the price, don't expect too much. It is quite and it is well kept. Seems like the room has not had a face lift since it's opening but it's no biggie. Best part is that the water pressure for the shower was awesome.

The heater / AC combo was horrible. AC works great but the heater was wack, didn't work so well and was a bit complicated to operate. There was no auto heater mode, so you either have the heater blasted all night long or turn it off.

Besides that, a cute little place.

CAVERNS REVIEW

The caverns tour was pretty cool. Being able to see the huge dry caverns was pretty fantastic. You gets to ride the elevator that takes you 21 story below the surface. The guided tour takes about 45 minutes to complete. Hike can get a bit difficult for senior citizens or parents carrying their newborn so please consider the physical requirement.
It is an okay cave for what it is, not a crazy huge cave like the ones in Mexico but still a decent one.

Have fun!

RESTAURANT REVIEWS:

Friendly service. We had breakfast here; eggs and links with hash browns and english muffin. It was okay for what it is. Not great but not bad. Although the hash brown was made fresh and not frozen.
That's about it.

I cannot speak for the motel, but the Caverns themselves are worth a visit if you are doing sites along old historic Rte 66.  This was one of the major stops way back then.
For people who are used to spectacular natural caverns filled with formations, this cave may be a disappointment.  It is more like a mine.  But the tour guide does his best to make it fun and interesting, and it is a good break from being in the car.  Cool in summer, warm in winter.
Separate from the rooms but attached onto the cavern complex is a buffet restaurant.  For the middle of AZ, not bad, and by far the best place to east between Kingman and Williams.  If you are there at lunchtime, do not pass it by -- there are no alternatives.

The website is adorable but the room was a bit poorly kept up and didn't exactly exude cleanliness.  Quiet and perfect for a road trip though, and I'd stay here again.

7:30 a.m.
Knock, knock, knock.
"Housekeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeping!!!!!!"
Knock.  Knock.  Knock.

What happens at 8:00am, you ask?

Why, tentative hammering on the AC unit next door, of course!

In Peach Springs, they get more done before 9:00am than they should.

For dinner, I'd highly recommend the veggie burgers over in the cafe near the cavern entrance.  Depending on the heat, you may wish to drive, it's about a mile down the road but still on the property.

The pool looked very clean and well-maintained but we did not partake.

Reviewing the Caverns not the Inn (did not stay here). Located along the historic Rt 66 this place is pretty cool. The caverns aren't full of stalactites and amazing formations but more of a huge open space 21 stories below the surface. The caverns have a paved walkway with handrails and is very well lit however if you go on the first or last tour of the day you can go on the flashlight only tour for a more cavern-like experience. The facts and artifacts along the 50min or so tour are fascinating. Worth checking out if you're driving by the area, even if you have to go out of your way a little.
