Nashua, NH
This is my PIG OUT PIC. A buffet to rival those Vegas buffets right here in Nashua. HUGE selection and quality items at dinner with a cooked to order mongolian grill, sushi, sashima, duck, crab legs, oysters, shrimp, mussels, stuffed clams, and all your chinese food favorites as well as Italian, American and a massive salad bar.
Oh yeah, they have an ice cream and dessert area, if you can get that far!
If you are daring stay and watch the karaoke on a weekend, you will have a great laugh and I promise, for better or worse, you will never forget it! -

Sucks. This place is dreadful. It's very expensive, the lighting is depressing, the food is bad. I hate this place.

Why hasn't MTV built a show around Nashua's Grand Buffet?
The Grand Buffet on a Saturday night during karaoke is a magnet for a collection of people that will amaze you and make you cringe. I drank vodka tonics... fair price and strong. The crowd was hilarious and freakish... bad tattoos, bad singing, strange animalistic stripper dancing. The evening built to a climax of staggering, slurring, anger and vomiting. The arc of your evening concludes with you driving home thankful you are who you are, and not a Grand Buffet-ite.
Bottom line... great entertainment and people watching on a Saturday night, and decent drinks. -

Morbid curiosity and a hankering for Chinese got me to try this place again after a 6 month hiatus due to 2 bad instances of feeling sick after eating there, after years of having no problems.
Well, I didn't feel sick afterwards, which is a plus. But I still didn't feel quite right. So hey, its effect on my stomach wasn't entirely a deal-breaker so long as there were a few items on the buffet that stood out enough.
Well, there weren't. Everything was just pretty much ok. Even the coconut chicken which I'd been craving wasn't doing much for me. All the items were pretty generic tasting, doing for you just what you'd expect flavor wise, maybe a bit less; nothing that goes that little bit beyond.
So hey, maybe my feeling ill those times before was a fluke, but it's still not really worth risking unless you're desperate for unlimited amounts of cheap chinese food (and options for that in Nashua are a bit limited as places with most other chinese restaurants with buffets in town have either closed or have just stopped doing the buffet)1 Previous Review: Show all »

Quincy, MA
Ummmm....no.
We went here strictly via Yelps. I read the mixed reviews, but I return to places I give a 3, so we went anyway.
The hot and sour soup was a 2.75. Usually this would indicate that the place overall would be a 2.75, but the entrees were worse. I tried Beef with scallions, Spicy chicken, chicken with cashews, and General Gau. I did not like any of them, they were all 2.0 to 1.75
I had no idea what the meal cost, and had it been 7.95, I would have given it a 3, but it was $11.
It is pretty big, I will give them that. I still sob for the long lost Quincy Jade at the old Quintree Mall, which was actually bigger, and the quality way better. Why once that place closed has noone opened up any similar place anywhere on the South Shore ?
For my final round I did another batch of salad, and another bowl of hot and sour soup, which to their credit, did have fresh scallions to top it with. Nothing was spoiled or gamey, that is not the issue. There was no brown lettuce or anything like that. No trays were empty or even close to it.
The cookies and cream ice cream was tasty.
I could easily see how this could be a 3 to many people. I can not see how it could be a 4 or a 5 to anyone ever. I don't expect level 5 chinese food at a buffet, but I do expect better than this. -

Wait, no review of Karaoke at the Grand Buffet yet?
This place on Friday and Saturday nights might be the very reason Nashua is called "Trashua", but that's mostly why karaoke here is so much fun.
There are many regular singers here on the weekends (keep an eye out for the infamous Mr. Martini) and a lot of wasted guys and gals butchering the classics. The songbook is pretty big, so your chances of finding your favorite singable is good.
I can't speak to the quality of the food, but the drinks are well priced. Scorpion Bowls are fairly weak, but they do have a nice center well for a shot of something alcohol-ly for you to finish off with. Most cocktail drinks are not well mixed either - my friend had a disgusting white russian made for him - but you can throw back a few bottles of Sam on the cheap.
The karaoke host always takes a break during the night, and he seems to be obsessed with playing almost exclusively Katy Perry songs. Fortunately, it's only a half hour, so slurp down a few more bowls before hopping up on stage and grabbing the mic. -

Great staff who know how to treat customers with courtesy. The food has some pros and cons.
Pros- Sushi is very fresh
The seaweed salad is sweet with right amount of spices, and not too oceany.
Salmon is cooked just right and is quite juicy and savory.
Cons-Way too many trashy customers.
The Chicken Terryiyaki is too salty.
Peking Duck is too salty as well as fatty.
Too many fried foods limit those as much as possible. -

The guy who greets you during lunch on weekdays I have no idea where his energy comes from, but it's always welcoming. Quick service, clean and efficient staff. Great selection of food and it's always clean unlike a lot of other buffets.
Wide selection of sushi, fruits, Chinese food, desserts, then there's weird stuff like pizza and other American-ish things. -

A must-visit every time we are in the area. Living in Virginia that time comes very seldom. They have a lot of items on their menu including: crab legs, sushi, crawfish, oysters, clams and shrimp. They have a Mongolian grill and have premium-scoop ice cream (many flavors -- 5-6). Price is very reasonable for what you get. This place also has a full bar (beer, wine, margaritas, etc.) If you like Chinese food, this is the pace to go.

Great place to eat! Really it is. Go eat your food there then when the clock strikes 10PM run for your life, because the trash and wackos come out of the woodwork.
Eat-Yes!
Hang out-NO! -
Review from Ian W.
This is one of the better Chinese buffets in NH. For dinner, oysters on a half shell, snow crablegs, shrimp, mussels, baked scallops, and moo shu pork are offered. Several varieties of sushi are made frequently. The Mongolian Grill features noodles, choice of vegetables (such as snow peas, bean sprouts, broccoli, onions, peppers, cabbage, baby corn), pineapple, meats, and sauces cooked to order on the big round grill. The buffet features traditional Chinese favorites, Italian/American dishes, salads, and desserts (variety of hard ice cream, jellos, fruits, apple strudel, cakes, and cookies). The service here is good (staff will refill drinks as needed and clear used dishes between buffet trips).
