Total redemption with their signature chopped salad! I order to go because I wanted my bf to try the salad before reviewing it without him. To die for! So delicious and loaded with goodies. We LOVE goat cheese and they totally don't skimp out on the toppings. I only ordered a half order but it was enough for two meals.

The salad is super fresh and refreshing and I love how the dried sour cherries are so plump and juicy. The perfect combination of texture -- premium mix lettuce, crunchy candied walnuts and carrots, soft beets, and chewy berries. I DIE!

Will be back if I'm ever in the fashion district again... LOVE you G&P!

Gram and Papas.... is good. It really is. They use fresh ingredients, they offer half or full size salads, their prices are fair, their iced tea is delicious, the staff is friendly- in short- I like them.

I usually order the Far East Kitchen, no chicken, add tofu and if you hold the crunchy noodles it is totally vegan. They offer a lot of vegan stuff actually. I also hear that their tortilla soup is awesome, but I haven't been able to get there on those days. If you order a half salad you can get lunch for under $10, a rarity in downtown, especially near the Mart.

I wish they had more than 3 or 4 tables inside, it's really built more for to go orders.

They also deliver for free, no minimum order required.

Woopty woot! G&P!

I am truly a fan of Gram and Papa's ;-)

I don't normally go to Downtown unless there's an upcoming catering event that calls for extremely fresh flowers from the LA Flower Mart or if I have to shop at the LA Fish Mart but in any case, whenever I find myself in the area, I like to get my lunch at Gram and Papa's.

It's interesting that the vibe and interior of the restaurant does not seem to match the area where it's located.  You walk in and it's as if you're at some joint off of Melrose.

I enjoy their menu particularly because there are healthy options that are equally tasty.  To top it all, the prices are reasonable.

Gram and Papas is AMAZING!  The staff is unbelievably friendly, the food is delicious and perfectly made every time, it is an all around wonderful experience.

Working in the fashion district does not leave you with a lot of choices for a well made, healthy breakfast/lunch, that is made with all fresh ingredients.  Gram and Papas fills that void!

p.s. try the Shermcakes (pancakes stuffed with nutella and banana) UNREAL!

Best Burger in Downtown at the least! I was at the new mart for LA Market and the owner of the showroom that reps our line ordered this for lunch one day n told me the burgers were the best, sure enough they are! New favorite place in the fashion district in addition to NY Deli across from Cooper Building!

I'd gotten a on a healthier kick so anywhere that has veggies is a good idea- THIS IS THAT PLACE! I love the staff, especially the owner, who is there everyday. I enjoyed the Turkey Burger salad & I cannot wait to go back to have the Gram & Papa salad. Are they open Sundays???!?

I work across the street so I'm here at least once a week.
The salads are great. My two favorites are the Far East and the Greek salads. I'm vegetarian so I get both without the meat and they still taste excellent! I usually get a half portion because the full size is huge! They tend to really pack on the dressing so either ask for light dressing or have it on the side. All the ingredients are fresh and healthy. The owner, Mike, is there everyday and he's really nice. They've done catering for our showroom before which has also been great. The only sandwich I've had is the Portabello and it wasn't bad, but I like the salads better.
Give this place a try! The food is great and not too pricey either!

Okay so I have been going to this place for lunch EVERY day for the past two weeks and have yet to be disappointed! Their ingredients are fresh! and they make yummy food fast. I am always in a rush, but these guys take the time to see how I am doing and have excellent customer service.  Not the norm at lunchtime in the fashion district... You can also make your own salad, which is great, because they let you modify your order. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place.

I called for delivery and they said that there was a $35 minimum. I live in the Artists District of Downtown LA (4th and Mateo).

Their website says free delivery to downtown LA (and a small fee for "other areas"), but that's not true. I am 1.9 miles away and they were hesitant to even take my order. I ended up walking to the Urth Caffe and getting the same thing (if not better) for the same price.

What's the point of offering delivery to "Downtown LA" if you can't cross a major intersection?

This great little fresh food cafe opened up just a few weeks ago in the Fashion District, close enough to walk from the many loft buildings on Spring and Main.

They're serving up awesome breakfast and brunch -- including french toast with sweet lemon ricotta, and a bagel with lox and cream cheese so good and affordable that it might as well have been sent on a Concorde from Brooklyn -- and all kinds of delicous salads and sandwiches for lunch. I haven't tried the muffins yet, but they looked great this morning.

To top it off, their beverages are exceptional. They're using Intelligentsia beans, L.A.'s finest, for the coffee, and they brew it right. They also have a number of fresh fruit drinks, like lemonade and watermelon juice.

You can eat in or take out, and there's free wifi if you want to nurse your coffee.

I'm so happy places like this are opening up downtown.

This place is fantastic because they personally deliver to The Cooper Design Bldg. on Los Angeles St. I don't know where else they deliver to, but I bet they do to other walkable locations.

The staff is very friendly and the selections are hearty, healthy, and heavenly.

I always get the Custom salad with House vinagarette and Rocket greens, plus 4 other add-ins of your choice. Their ingredients are fresh, the greens/lettuce is always crispy and not soggy, and they don't drench the salads in heavy dressing. Oh, and they add a perfectly toasted crunchy pita. Yum.

They have a great menu of sandwiches, soups and salads and their space is simple and quaint--just like their food. I'd recommend this to anybody who wants a delicious and clean meal at a reasonable value.

They'd get my other star if they decorated a little bit more. However, the food is wonderful.

So, I get handed menus all the time from passersby at work. It had been buried in a pile on my desk until today. The menu kind of reminded me of The Counter because you can build your own salad. Though who would want to go through the trouble because their salads ROCK!! I ordered the 1/2 salad 1/2 soup for 11bucks, not too shabby. I had the Greek salad loaded with feta, kalamata olives, cucumbers, chickpeas, red peppers and lamb sausage. I also had the Asparagus soup which was a little peppery but good. This place is like a godsend to the fashion district. There arent a whole lot of good wholesome affordable places to eat lunch around my work. Thank you Gram & Papa's : )

Oh man. I had the best salad from here the other day. The whole salad was so fresh..and the balsamic dressing was soo good. I wish there was something like this on the westside. I didn't leave a single piece of lettuce in my to-go box. I'm just envious of anyone who can walk to this place for lunch...!!!

This is one of the best keep secrets in Downtown LA...lots of folks in the fashion district are hip to this place, but, other parts of Downtown have not discovered it yet...but they will.
Great breakfast, cooked the way you like it...everything is so fresh....the salads are excellant, the staff and owners are super nice.
Parking is a little tight, but go early for breakfast...I always get a spot out front.  Or...have lunch delivered as we often do...
Love this place

Sandwiches are great, grilled cheese is truly grilled, and their turkey sandwich tastes better than most other turkey sandwiches you could get at a sandwich shop.  I hope they add more tables because i can see them getting even more business as word spreads.  I also give them 4 stars for food and service, but really they deserve a fifth just for having ample reading material for their customers which alone sets them apart from most eateries in this city.

I went here with a buddy of mine to taste their sandwiches & salads yesterday (In potentially using their food in his coffee shop), I had no expectations whatsoever.  I tried a good amount of their menu and was blown away at how delicious their food was.  I'm no food connoisseur by any means but I know what sells.  Everything was delicious but my two favorite were the prosciutto and Gram & Papa's salad.  The owner was a super nice guy that comes from NYC and has a lot of experience in the food industry.  I just ordered their food right now, so I'm cutting this review here!
