I can't believe I haven't reviewed Graffeo yet!  Some of the best coffee I have ever had.  Fresh roasted and superb, I love waking up to the smell of this coffee brewing.  It's a simple place, you buy your coffee and you leave, unlike Starbucks or Peet's where there's usually a line out the door, and quite frankly I've never been a big fan of those two anyway.  I'd rather save my $4, and put my Graffeo in a travel mug.  And I'll never have to utter the word "Venti"...

PS - forgot to mention you can buy the beans only here.. the actual brewing is up to your masterful coffee skillz..

Had one of the best postprandial coffees ever at the Zuni Cafe in SF a while back.  When I asked what type of coffee it was, the waiter replied, "Graffeo."

I didn't have a clue what she was talking about until I looked it up online.  I was thrilled to see that they have an outpost in the LA area.  It's not exactly convenient for me, but if I'm anywhere in the Beverly Hills area, it's definitely worth a stop.

Bare bones decor, but the smell of roasted beans makes up for the spartan surroundings.  It's just a grab and go kind of place anyway.

And while they do offer only regular and dark roast (in full caf and decaf versions), they'll blend up a mix to your specifications.  Smooth, rich and delicious--who needs a zillion choices when the basics are this good?

This is my favorite place to buy freshly roasted coffee in Los Angeles.  They roast the coffee on premises and it comes in two flavors: light and dark, both regular and decaf.

It is wrapped in a plain brown paper bag and costs about $13.00 a pound.
The aroma is powerful.  This is by far the finest coffee in the Southland.

The don't sell brewed cups here--only beans.

This is by far the best coffee I've bought in L.A. Far superior to Starbucks, Peet's or  any other roasters. The taste is smooth and full bodied. A bit more expensive than other venues, but well worth it for the extra flavor.

there's something about my weekly trip to graffeo for my coffee beans that brings me joy.  maybe it's because the place seems so old-worldly, and not pretentious, despite the fact it's only steps from Rodeo Dr.

the beans are freshly roasted daily on site, and the taste is rich, full-bodied, and not a trace of bitter.  the aroma is wonderful... (my neighbors can attest)
