We had just over an hour for dinner on a Friday night.  Hoping against all hope, we went to Grace's where they asked the dreaded question..."do you have a reservation?"

No?

Being only two people, they managed to find space for us near the window, and even though the restaurant was a bit crowded and tight, the service was impeccable.  After hemming and hawing about getting a bottle of wine, we finally requested one and it was on our table, with a chiller, within minutes.  I don't quite remember what my boyfriend got, but I will never forget what I got: butternut squash tortellini.

As a vegetarian, I know that Italian food is a pretty safe bet, and this dish intrigued me.  It was delicious!  Perfect portion, perfectly cooked.  It was one of those meals where I wanted to run home right then and try it myself, completing ditching my Friday night plans.  I didn't do that, but the fact that, a few weeks later, I'm still thinking about how delicious it was, says something.

I absolutely recommend Grace's.  Great service, wonderful menu, fine wine list, all around perfect.  The price was right for the area, and I'm so glad they were able to find us a table.  Next time, I'll be sure to make a reservation.

Love the ambience.  It's nice, dim, quiet restaurant where people can come in and have a relaxing dinner.

My rigatoni was good but was way too salty so minus two stars.  If they had just gotten the food right, I would have given 4 to 5 stars.  Hopefully this place will improve with time.

Disclaimer: we were being treated to dinner here, so I can't comment on the price.

All the food at Grace's was very good--cooked perfectly. The seafood dishes in particular stood out for us. We had branzino (northern sea bass), halibut and scallops. All very flavorful and neither too dry nor underdone. Especially since the restaurant is adjacent to their marketplace, I would have liked to see more seasonal fresh produce on the menu. (There was fresh produce, but I'm getting a bit tired of seeing asparagus on the evening's special in September).

Vanilla panna cotta for dessert was perfect. If you can afford it, Grace's seems like a reliable place for a satisfying and delicious meal.

Graces Trattoria is actually not a tiny restaurant, but looks like it will be from the street. Slightly off the beaten path, it is located on the side street of 71street, just off of Graces Marketplace.  Although on the expensive side, Graces Trattoria is a really nice place to go for a quiet lunch and glass of wine or cappuccino.

The menu is Italian, with paninis, pizza, and pasta.  They also have a nice list of entree salads, which are my preference for lunch here.  The dinner menu looks nice, but I have not tried Grace's for dinner.

My favorite dish from Grace's Trattoria is the Lamb Shank dish ... it is 2 die for! The lamb melts in your mouth along with the added creamy polenta, honey glazed carrots and onions flavored.  The restaurant is draped in an Italian atmosphere that has an upscale classy vibe to it! I truly enjoy my time at Grace's Trattoria.

Trekked uptown specifically for this restaurant. One of the owners ate at the Italian restaurant in Short Hills my sister was managing at the time and invited her to visit this one, so we came with our bfs. Walking in, it felt like we were visitors among one big Italian family. Usually Italian restaurants have their regulars and so i wasn't surpised by this kind of vibe where everyone noticed we were new. I didn't mind it as it felt more like we were guests of honor. The host didn't even know that we were here for the owner yet were still treated as if we were special being escorted to a table in the middle of the restaurant.  The decor made you feel like you were in the dining room of an affluent Italian family, the service was impeccable, and I would give the food 4.5 stars. The owner came by to say hello towards the end of the meal and comped our drinks and desserts. If this place wasn't so far uptown, i'd be coming here alot more often.
