I never thought I'd be so fascinated with an antique store... but I am!
I walk around imagining the stories all those pieces could tell... you'll find some random stuff like lotion but I once stumbled upon a butter churn and a bed warmer that holds hot coals a la Pirates of the Caribbean. My imagination runs away here, can you see why?
Things I've walked away with from here: a baby outfit, necklace, mini rolling pin... that's all I can think of right now. But you see what I mean??Listed in: Happy Heights

I am kind of mixed about this place. They have cool stuff, but the other stores down the street let you haggle and I like that. So it is worth a look around.

I've been to several antique shops in Houston over the past week and this was the only place that I bought something cool at.
It's huge! So many different things, jewelry, furniture, dishes, posters, purses, shoes, frames, candles, etc! I got some really sweet 60's end tables for 10 dollars a piece. I thought that it might be marked wrong, but it totally wasn't. It's got two different rooms and then an upstairs as well.
There are "sections" like a Mexican part and a men's part, and a children's part. My husband got a pretty cool tie for only $5 and the ladies told us if we saw something outside our price range, let her know because prices weren't fixed.
We spent an hour in this place and it was a good time. -

This is a fun place to wander through while drinking your coffee beverage of choice from Crickets. They're next to each other, almost attached by means of an entryway.
There are many stalls rented by different people. Items range from really neat antique furniture (armoires, vanities with the really big mirrors, butler desks, ect) to garage sale kitsch (or is that just junk?). Costume jewelry, knick knacks, tins.
What I really like about Grace Hart & Co is that you can get repair work on certain things like lamps and they even re-upholster furniture here. In fact, on my recent visit I noticed a sign in the window. Apparently they will even make custom furniture. "You design it - we make it." Not certain how reasonable the prices are, but it's nice to know that there is somewhere to go if I "just have to have" a specific furniture idea realized. -

This is one of my favorite antique 'malls' in Houston (thus far...)
With the large number of vendors, there's a huge variety and the selection is constantly changing. It's a great place for beginner 'antiquers' to peruse.
Top finds thus far include antique costume jewelry for me and various vintage shaving accoutrements for the boyfriend.
The staff is friendly and very helpful. They take credit/debit cards And sometimes there's free cookies and coffee in the back, which you can enjoy while chatting with other shoppers and the vendors/staff. -

Love shopping here! I come here at least once every few months to see what new merchandise is available from the various vendors and always have a great time here as well.

Grace Hart is a collection of different antique dealers similar to an antique mall or warehouse. And I use the word "antique" very loosely here. If you know what you are getting into, it's not a bad place to come out of the Houston heat for about 30 minutes or so before you go back out to walking along 19th street.
Many of the dealers look like they are selling random stuff that you would find in your attic or someone's garage sale priced a lot less. That's probably why they are selling it and not me. These are the people that make a living scanning the Greensheet and taking the time Saturday morning to shop at real garage and estate sales.
There are a few dealers that have some quality merchandise. There is a vendor at the front of the store that has an excellent selection of depression era glass if that is your thing. Other than that, you have to look really hard to find anything of substantive value. I've found some pretty cool kitchy mixing bowls and old school glass containers, but that's about it.
Very few of the dealers are actually there, save maybe Saturday morning, so you are free to browse without any sort of interference from eager salespeople. And the more I think about it, the more it's like a giant multi-family garage sale. -

Almost dense enough to be an antique warehouse. The store is divided into booths, so you can skim over the junk collectors quickly in favor of the beautiful vintage glassware, jewelry, furniture, and decor items. Prices vary from booth to booth, but most were reasonable (or even cheap). Booths aren't attended specifically, but there are several roaming helpers who can walk you through your purchase. Of all the antique markets in the 19th street area, this one has one of the best treasure to trash ratios.

This is one of my favorite places to go on a Saturday morning. I love antique stores that are full of interesting and fun items to examine, and this one fits the bill for me. The prices are quite reasonable in my opinion. I've bought a few knick-knacks and some jewelry here, and I've been pleased with my purchases. The staff is friendly/ polite, and they leave you alone to do your thing. The stock in the different booths change enough that I can go every month or so and see a lot of new things.

i like it! i find cool stuff and hardly ever leave empty handed, mostly eclectic things, i would not classify it as fine antiques although there are a few... found a wonderful 60's dining table on my last visit for under 200.00. if you are seeking fine antiques with flair that are not boring try antiques@dunlavy, lustful things there!
