Used this service last year - just getting around to the review.
Love this place! Best spray tan I have ever gotten. Not orange at all, perfect light tan - good for us very pasty white girls. It looked great about 7 days, as it was supposed to, and faded very evenly. Also had very minimal color transfer to clothes.
I will be using them again soon for my next trip. -

WOW, the one and only place to get spray tanned in NYC!!!!
I was in town for my cousin's wedding and needed a spray tan and had heard and read about Gotham Glow on blogs and magazines. I have been sprayed tanned many times in the past but I really must say this was the BEST SPRAY TAN I'd ever gotten.
Tamar, was very friendly and professional and after my tan I felt as if I had known her for years. We really need her in Cali!!
As for my tan, is it mean to say that I looked better than some of my other family members that didn't go to Gotham Glow (oh well do your research ladies, and you get what you pay for and unfortunately pics last forever). I had the best tan I have ever had and the best part is I got to bring my tan back to Cali, my spray tan lasted about 9 days and I didn't smell like fried foods or french fires as my boyfriend likes to mention after being sprayed!
Gotham Glow will be stop for me every time I am back in NYC, thank you Tamar!!! -

O. M. F'n G. This place is super. I have been looking for a GREAT (not good) tanning place in manhattan since I moved here. Found it!
Bailey gave me an amazing spray tan. She was really chill, and even more importantly did an incredible job. No patches at all. Not even one!
The next week I came back and got sprayed by Tamar. Same deal. Freaking brilliant. I will be coming in at least twice a month ladies. Pencil me in! -

Why am I only giving 3 stars to a business that so many Yelpers have raved about? It boils down to one word -- value. I just can't justify paying $75 (+tip) for a spray tan that lasts 5 days AT MOST! Yes, Tamar is super sweet and professional. Yes, the experience is not in the least bit uncomfortable and extremely expedient. But I wouldn't repeat it given the alternatives... I know Mystic Tan has its haters, but I think that for the price, it achieves a similar result for a much better value. And of course, my favorite alternative of all is Jergens Natural Glow. The worst part about that is that it actually requires some manpower, but if you're willing to put in the effort, it obviously comes out a whole lot cheaper. My tan from Gotham Glow was flawless, no streaking, slightly less pungent fake tan smell. But it faded much too soon.

I went for a training session with Tamar's new employee, Bailey. I was getting headshots taken the next day and wanted a natural not too severe glow. In my previous shots I was painfully pale, but I wanted to make sure that I got something with a bit of color, but still believably me in the winter. Bailey did an excellent job and Tamar was a great coach! I ADORED my tan and it lasted exactly as long as I was told (5-7 days).
Tamar knew that a tan would show up darker in a photo and made my face and shoulders less of a change than my legs (which I wanted nice and tan).
I would definitely go back and I am delighted that Tamar now has a new employee!! -

I needed to get tanned for a ballroom competition. And let me tell you, I've been doing all kinds of tanning for at least seven years, granted I've been in the ballroom world for about ten.
Tamar gives best spray tan in the city!! Mark it down!! she is amazing, no streaks no patches. Fast and what is very important affordable. 5 days of wonderful tan :)

I love Tamar-she is so great. This was my first time spray-tanning, so I was nervous that I'd come out looking fake. But absolutely not! Tamar made me look like I had a natural tan, and I even look thinner from it. Her business is in a residential building in Chelsea, so don't be alarmed.
Tamar is a true sweetheart and also knows what she is doing! She has a great setup. -

I am quite literally the palest human you've ever met. Years of teasing in high school and the nickname of Casper led me to try many methods of battling this, from 'laying out' by the Hudson (horrible burn), tanning beds (takes forever to show; fades quickly), to the original Mystic Tan (gotta love that 'radioactive orange' glow), but I'd officially given up all hope. That is, until I went to Tamar - she was quick, professional, and knew exactly how to tan me so I would look healthy, natural, and glowing for my trip to Miami. My skin feels beautiful and the tan is even and doesn't smell funny - I'm still in shock!
I found Tamar on Yelp, and have to agree with all the reviews posted. My appointment was at 8pm, and I was in and out of there within 15 minutes. I wasn't uncomfortable at all (not sure what it says about me that I can be totally naked with a stranger and its no big. I'm going to say that it reflects on Tamar's professionalism and relaxed atmosphere.), and definitely left feeling more beautiful and confident. I will absolutely go back - she's amazing!
PS When I got home, my roommate said, "Holy crap! You have the skin of an alive human now!" I'd call that success. -

I truly had a great experience! I wanted to wait 3 or 4 days before I commented to make sure the tan didn't turn orange/streaks/fading. Let me tell you! Perfection~! my skin felt SOFTER after the first day! And my tan WAS not orange and looked sooo natural! I feel so much more confident! Tamar definitely gained a frequent customer! I definitely recommend you try this tan out instead of the unsafe and unhealthy tanning beds!!!!

If you're worried and unsure about spray tans then this is the place to go to. She is brilliant.
I've never had a spray tan before, and since I have very fair skin with yellow tone I was worried about turning orange or smelling awful like some other people who gets spray tans.
After seeing the amazing reviews for Tamar, I've decided to try it out..
PERFECT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A+++++++
Her studio is clean, comfortable and cozy. I didn't feel awkward as I thought I would. ( on account of being butt naked in front of a stranger who is painting me ) Tamar is lovely, friendly and funny. More importantly she knows what she is doing and she is great at it. She knew exactly how much to use and how it would come out.
She uses NO chemicals so NO smell A+
Her color has just the right amounts of red hue which means NO orange or carrot look. Only sun-kissed. A+
I didn't end up looking like a Jersey shore cast member with red hair. A+
Everyone told me that spray tans do peel and look patchy after a week. ( I got this tan about 2 months ago) I didn't get patchy. It did come out after a while but it didn't peel or got blotchy at all.
I went there prepared, meaning I had a good scrub and clean skin. Afterwords I followed her instructions and moisturized so I was able to keep my tan longer then usual.
I'm a redhead so tanning beds can cause too much damage on my skin. This is the perfect solution.
The prices are very reasonable and the result is perfect.
I've had everyone commenting on how great it looked and I recommend Tamar 100% I wouldn't bother trying any other places. -

Tamar, thank you for a great tan last week. I was worried about coming out orange and having dark patches around my knees, feet and hand but it came out wonderful. It's been four days now and it is still looking natural and beautiful.
Now I'm back in LA and will compare your results to some new places I'm going to try. Hope they can measure up.
The other plus is one doesn't have to put any lotion on their feet and hands before the tanning as most other airbrush tanning places recommend.
The only thing I wish is for your price to be less as you are expensive and not for most salaries to do on a regular basis, but those that got the money, see Tamar! You will not be disappointed. -

I've been sprayed many times but this is the best experience I've ever had. No orange, no streaking, no rancid self tanner smells, no stickiness. If I could invent a tanning potion this would probably be it.
Now, on to Tamar. What a great personality - warm, friendly, funny, and makes you feel like it's totally not a big deal that your standing there in your underwear in front of someone you met 3 minutes ago.
I love her little setup, too. She works out of her apartment which is partitioned off into her living area, then her tanning area. It's clean, very professional, and she genuinely cares about making you look amazing (because then SHE looks amazing!) She's also done lots of celebs and makes house calls - Manhattan and certain areas of Bklyn only.
As I was getting tanned I stood there thinking "If and when I get married, this is the tan I want on my wedding day." Weird, but true. -

Tamar is the BEST - I am super fair and self tanners always go orange or muddy on me and look really fake. Tamar's formula was perfect - it gave me a golden glow that lasted for about a week and looked like i had been in the sun.
But the best part is Tamar - she also really funny and sweet and doesn't make you feel uncomfortable with getting naked. She contours your tummy, face, and collar bones (yay!) and you walk out feeling way better than when you walked in. She's also INCREDIBLY fast - crazy fast - like 10 minutes in the tent, 10 minutes to dry and you're out. Totally worth it! -

Whenever I need to look my absolute best for camera, for a performance, or just for an all around fantastic glow, Tamar Vezirian at Gotham Glow is my only choice. Tan for my wedding, check! Tan for an appearance on X-Factor, check! Tan for keeping my skin all around gorgeous, check! Why is she and her company so amazing? Professional, prompt, efficient in application, informative, and discreet. There is no need to be nervous about baring it all in front of her because she makes you feel at ease. Best tan in town!! And, her new store is centrally located which makes it even easier for me to get tanned. I can't wait for when she releases some use-at-home products!

Gotham Glow and its founder, Tamar, are fantastic. Tamar's spray tans look natural and are very even. I recently went to her before a wedding I had because I had tan lines from a vacation I'd taken. I got the spray tan two days before the wedding and, voila!, no tan lines for the wedding. Tamar definitely knows what she's doing! An added bonus, my boyfriend always compliments me when I come home from seeing her! He loves the natural, sun-kissed look she gives me. 5 stars for Gotham Glow and Tamar (who is super friendly and down to earth)!

Tamar is awesome! After getting skin cancer 5 years ago I keep out of the sun, but still like a little color now and then. Enter: Tamar. She comes to me or I go to her. If you have a special event that you cannot risk streaks or looking orange for you MUST see her.
My last visit to her was before my "babymoon" to Florida. I was at the end of my 8th Month and needed her expertise to make my body look good in a maternity bathing suit-no easy task, but as always she did a perfect job.
She's sweet and funny and really the best and I have tried every spray tan known to man and womankind. -

I have been faking and baking for years. For a straight male, that is hard for me to come out openly to admit! Finally realizing that my skin is not getting any younger, I decided to stop going to the beds. While talking with friends one night, Tamar's service came up in conversation. I was a little hesitant at first, since this was a service that I had never before heard about. So I took the piece of paper that my friend slipped behind my back with a wink, and I called Tamar.
When I called to set up an appointment, Tamar was extremely nice and very professional. Since she only makes house call, she was pretty flexible with my schedule, which at times can be hectic. Before my first appointment, I was as pale as Chelsea Clinton!! After Tamar worked her magic, I felt like I was a real life Oscar Trophy (since I am bald) !!
I will definitely continue to use Tamar's tanning service FOREVER!!!! I have never had such a glow walking out of a tanning bed than I got after one session with Tamar! Tamar is awesome!!!! -

i came to Tamar for a tan right before my birthday. i went to her studio for the tan and found that Tamar was very experienced and professional. She spray-tans quickly and efficiently, all the while making conversation and cracking jokes with you so that you don't feel uber self-conscious about the fact that you just dropped trou in front of someone you met nary 5 minutes ago...
my tan was the perfect glow--not orange,streaky or spotty. i highly recommend Tamar for anyone who is looking for a natural glow without the harmful UV rays from tanning beds. An added bonus? Tamar will come straight to your house to tan you, so you can tan in the comfort of your own home instead of awkwardly cowering in a cold storefront somewhere clad only in a paper bikini.

I recently went to Tamar after reading all the glowing (no pun intended) yelp reviews and I must say I was not disappointed!! Besides having a little difficulty finding the place (my cell phone died and I did not initially realize I was looking for a residential location) the experience was awesome.
Prior to seeing Tamar, I had never had anyone spray tan me, except for the mystic tan machine once or twice, so needless to say I was a little nervous and embarrassed. She totally made me feel relaxed and comfortable and for some reason she makes you want to know her. She has that charismatic personality that makes you feel like you've been friends for years. That being said, I got naked and we got down to business....
The tan looked AMAZING! I saw her two days before my wedding and everyone complimented me on my beautiful healthy looking glow. It looked so natural- not orange, not trashy, not fake- PERFECTION. I have platinum blonde hair so too much of a tan makes me go from edgy and sexy to a more cheesy playboy bunny look.

Just got tanned last night by Tamar and so far, I am very happy. The process was super easy and quick, lasted about 15 minutes including drying time. I wanted a healthy glow, not a dark tan and that is exactly what I got. Tamar was very nice and welcoming. She doesn't go heavy on the spray, which I like, but can easily dial it up if you want to go darker.
I've had a lot of spray tans in my life and Gotham Glow has been the best yet. I will definitely go back and I HIGHLY recommend it. -

Tamar is awesome. I'm super pale, have never been tan a day in my life, and was once told I couldn't go in a tanning bed because I was a liability. I've always been afraid of spray tan because I was worried about turning orange.
So, a month before my wedding, I decide I should try this out if only to see if I could get SOME form of pigment in my skin before 150 people saw me prancing around in a strapless dress for 8 hours. I did a trial with Tamar in her studio and it worked great -- she did a super-light shade that gave me just a bit of a glow but didn't make me look like a female George Hamilton. I was in and out in 20 minutes and her instructions (which she sends before you see her) were really helpful. I went back on the Wednesday before the wedding and the tan held up beautifully even beyond that Saturday. I'd highly recommend Tamar and Gotham Glow -- she's fun, fast, and knows her stuff. Particularly if you're super pale, she knows what to do with you. -

The initial tan that I received looked wonderful and very, very natural. It's perfect if you need to look great right away for a night out (but don't wear light colors, it will stain). However, by the next day it was definitely faded (I did not bathe until late the next night), and by the third day, it was gone. Disappointing for the amount of money it cost, but it did look great the first day.

So I just finished getting an airbrush tan with Tamar and I have gone to numerous places in the city but I never have actually had someone come to me and tan me. I was staying at my friends house in the city and Tamar came over and propped up her tent and tanned me to golden perfection. I was a little shy at first but Tamar made me feel so comfortable and the whole process took about 10 minutes. The entire week i kept getting compliments, when I told them I got spray tanned they couldn't believe how natural it looked. Trust me I have been to my share of tanning booths and salons and nothing compares to this experience. I'm officially addicted.

I was a little nervous about the idea of visiting some random person's apartment to get naked and let them spray tan me but this experience was as comfortable as it gets. Wow! Tamar is great!
She was prompt, professional, and personable while she spray tanned myself and several of my friends. I love the fact that she offers to do appointments at your own apartment/home, which made it especially easy to add among our weekend of bachelorette party activities!
For a bunch of first-timers (in getting spray tanned), Tamar made the experience easy and fun. And she gives clear follow-up instructions so we're looking glowing and evenly tan the days after. -

I am a pale New Englander who at age 31 is just figuring out how to properly spend time in the sun. I found Tamar when I was planning my wedding here in NY in 2009. A few friends from home were trying to convince me to get a spray tan. I literally did a trial run with Tamar 3 days before my wedding. She gave me such a natural glow and honestly I could not have felt more comfortable walking around a strangers' apartment with little to no clothing.
I received a ton of compliments on my "glow" during the wedding and after when our photos came out. The tan also lasted into the beginning of my honeymoon.
Tamar is professional, funny, flexible and makes even the palest skinned girl feel like a million bucks. I now visit her prior to any warm vacation or special event. I know she's the woman who tans me but I also love visiting with her - she's a hoot. Go and go fast! I wouldn't let anyone else tan me. -

The best....I looked kinda amazing! Yes, her set-up is in her apartment - but don't be weirded out....it's amazing. She made me look hot! And it lasted - and i don't think it really smelled funny at all. And when your done you can go to Loehmans!

Tamar bestowed a fabulous tan upon me (my first one) last week before my daughter's wedding. To my amazement and relief, I emerged looking healthy, natural, glowing -- and streak-free! I chose Tamar over other airbrush salons based on her reviews, and all the reviews were spot-on. Tamar was excellent, prompt, flexible on timing, a true expert of the airbrush tan. I came out looking nice and tan, not orange at all. Tamar mixes up her own solution which does a great, natural job on skin. I used to fake and bake, but no more thanks to this! Her service is just perfect for the on-the-go New Yorker who needs to look good right away! And, I'm usually bothered by the smell. Her solution is the best smelling of the self-tanners out there!
