15 reviews for Got Rice Chinese Restaurant
This is definitely not up to par to many of the excellent Chinese restaurants in the Seattle area; however, the food here is good, they have a good variety on the menu, service is always excellent, and its kid-friendly.
The only downside is finding parking, but most people opt for the carry out. Very glad to have good Chinese food as an option in Snoqualmie.
Not...very...good. And, I can only assume not many of you must know what constitutes a good restaurant.
First of all, the location is terrible and there is no parking. Strike one.
Second of all, the price, even for a lunch special, was almost $8.00. Realistically, it should be closer to $6.00 - 7.00. Strike two.
Thirdly, the food. I stopped eating and it wasn't because I was full. The General Tso's Chicken I ordered came in huge, clumpy formations, and made it almost impossible to eat with chopsticks; not to mention the fact that it was also drowned in some sort of unappealing brown gravy. Blech. To put it bluntly, the meal was a joke. Strike three.
Too expensive, substandard, unappetizing food and small portions. To me, that does not make a good restaurant.
If you want something better, try Happy at the Bay Teriyaki in Puyallup. It's near Safeway on Meridian.
An unexpected find in Snoqualmie - good Chinese food!
Loved the wonton soup in particular - but everything we got was tasty. Service was fine, and everyone in my group (of four) was pleasantly surprised at the quality (and quantity!) of their meal. Prices were extremely reasonable. Parking isn't great, but there are spots in the back.
This is probably my favorite restaurant in the area. It's small, not much to it, but the food is good and the staff is extremely friendly and courteous. This isn't a high end Chinese restaurant and I'd say it's more Americanized Chinese than authentic, but I really like it. The only dish I'd say I've tried so far & found to be so-so was the beef & broccoli, but that's not a favorite of mine anyway. My favorite is the BBQ pork egg foo yung.
If you're jonesing for some Americanized Chinese food, this is a great place to go to if you're in the Snoqualmie area. Not much parking available in the front. There's about space for 4 or 5 cars, but there's a couple more spots out in back.
The service is prompt and the food comes out fairly quickly and is nice and hot. Can't remember what I got, but husband's general Tso's chicken was tasty.
This place has the BEST Chinese food that my boyfriend and I have found yet here in WA. We're from SF, so VERY spoiled and picky when it comes to claiming that a restaurant has phenomenal food...
It probably helps that the owners lived in the SF Bay Area for many, many years, so they also KNOW what constitutes acceptable quality Chinese food-- higher standards down there, I'm sorry to say... We've never had a bad meal here.
Favorites include their Mongolian Beef, Wonton Soup, and Honey Walnut Prawns. I HIGHLY, HIGHLY recommend this place! :)
Great food and very nice people.
I just got back from my 1st trip to Got Rice and I LOVED IT!
The staff was really friendly, the price was VERY fair, and the food was scrumptious. My friend, who I went with is a really big fan of the place and was anxious to take me there. I was NOT dissapointed. The food came out hot and fresh... not to mention QUICK! I am looking forward to my next trip to Got Rice.
The parking leaves a little to be desired, but hey, what can you do?
This was by far some of the best chinese food we've ever had. It was very fresh tasting, not greasy like most. Every dish we got was delicious. We got it to go and it was ready in 15 minutes.
Yummy!!
In my opinion, this is the best Chinese food restaurant in Snoqualmie (as we all know, Snoqualmie is known for its Chinese restaurants!). Actually, there are 4 Chinese restaurants between Snoqualmie and North Bend, and I think this is one of the two best between these towns in the Snoqualmie Valley - there's another in North Bend that is very good, but I will save that review for later.
What I like about Got Rice is that they have an amazingly inexpensive (and delicious) lunch menu - $5.95 will get you a choice of entrees, with rice, soup, fried wontons with sweet and sour sauce, fortune cookie and hot tea. What you get in terms of quantity for the price is amazing!
We have taken out for dinner several times, and have never been disappointed with our entrees. The pork fried rice is excellent, and so is the egg foo young, Mongolian beef, and barbecued pork.
The folks here are super nice - they really want to make sure you are happy with the food and service. They have made me a return customer!
It's All-American Chinese cuisine, right in little ole Snoqualmie. The same Almond Chicken, fluorescent Sweet 'n' Sour Whatever, that you remember from your childhood. If this is what you're looking for, go for it.
This is the closes Chinese food I have had to Chinatown in NYC in years. I love this place! The Shrimp with Lobster Sauce, and the General Tso's chicken rock! The portions are generous, and it has a decent family atmosphere. The ambience is typical of a busy chinese place, with moderate accomodations. They offer delivery and it is just past the little scenic downtown area near the railroad station. I was very surprised at the quality of the food (I have eaten here several times) and recommend it to everyone.
This place has good food but the parking situation and the layout of the restaurant are terrible. I'd recommend take out only. The front door opened up right to the table I was seated at so I got blasted with cold air every time someone opened the door. There isn't really anywhere to line up to wait for your takeout order except to queue up right down the middle amidst the tables so I got to enjoy my meal while other customer's butts were right by my face. Good times.
Don't let the cheesy "Got Rice?" name and logo (beady-eyed Asian man with a bowl of rice and chopsticks) make you ignore this restaurant. It is actually nicely decorated inside with Chinese lattice work and furniture and run by a Chinese family (they speak Cantonese). The food is pretty good for a Chinese restaurant located in a hodunk town like Snoqualmie. But I really was pleasantly surprised after my first taste of their hot and sour soup. The other three dishes that we ordered were all yummy too. I'm so glad that I can get my quick fill of decent Chinese food near my house now. If this restaurant was to be compared with the other Chinese restaurants in the nearby towns, it'd be at least a 4 star.
Good tasty food. The staff is friendly. Good service. We love the place. From outside the looks are average. But inside ambience is good. Family friendly.
