I wish I knew about Go Pro Moving when I moved the first time. We have used them two times and will be using them again in a few short months. The movers were polite, professional, and took care of my belongings and got them to the destination in one piece. They even asked where to put the boxes and furniture so they would be in the rooms they belong in.
Anyone who thinks "oh it's a piece of cake, we can gather our friends and family and move ourselves" needs to think again. Dreading your move, making family and friends miserable because it's an all day event when you move yourself, isn't a smart idea. I'll tell you, my family and friends love Go Pro Moving as much as I do! -

Sadly, this is not a good update. Despite purchasing the 'full replacement' value insurance (which costs additionally) they are refusing to cover the mixer of ours that they improperly packed causing damage. We were told we needed to claim within 6 months but now they are saying we didn't point out damage upon delivery (really? It was PACKED - by THEM. Who unpacks their entire kitchen before the movers leave for the day?). It took them weeks and weeks to now decide they will not cover it.
Very disappointed as they worked so hard that day and were careful, however their packer apparently didn't realize packing a high-end mixer on it's side causes damage and now they won't stand behind their contract or the insurance we paid extra for.
I can no longer recommend them as this is either going to be a hassle or cost me several hundred dollars to replace my mixer.1 Previous Review: Show all »

After reading good reviews here on Yelp, I've decided to hire them for a short distant move. We are moving from 1 bedroom apt to a house so basically less furniture. We dismantled all major funiture like bed and dining set. I requested them to cover the furniture with the plastic wrap prior to moving but they insist that it will not be needed since they will cover them with blanket once transported and they will be careful. lo and behold almost 4 of out 6 furniture ended up with nicks and scratches the dining table, the floor mirror, foot of the dresser, and bed. Good thing we covered the remaining 2 with protectant else all furniture will ended with all nicks.
On the positive side, Po was very courteous while Pito a little bit grumpy. I've asked them to removed their shoes prior to entering our new house Po agreed but Pito said the won't do it because he need it for protection. Cmmon Pito, it's a new hardwood floors and new carpet. Be respectful to someone place.
Lesson learned, No matter how professional they are cover your expensive furniture yourself else you will regret it after the move.
Yes I would hire them again but I'll do the wrapping of my furniture. -

These guys deserve nothing less than 5 stars after the job they did for me and my wife today. They moved us out of a third floor apartment with no elevator to a single story home and got it done ahead of the estimate. I had a lot of heavy stuff in the apartment but they were champs who pounded right through it like it was no big deal.
Chelsea, Orlando, and Zack are an awesome team and made my wife and I very happy with the job they did for us. They took all precautions to wrap and protect the door sills as well as our furniture and TV's to ensure no damage would be done. All of our belongings arrived in tip top shape. I will definitely use them again if the occasion ever arises and would not hesitate to recommend their services to anyone looking for a great moving company. -

This review is only for the movers themselves and Sean.
SO.. the morning of my move at 8:30 am, Danny, the manager, told me he didn't have a crew to disassemble/reassemble crew, because there was no communication on behalf of the administration. As you can tell, I was about to have a panic attack. After calling at least 5 times and confirming the day before whether there would be a moving crew that would be able to work with cubicles, they spring this horrible catastrophe on me. I was scrambling and all hell broke loose. Therefore, the administration team gets 1 STAR.
We eventually worked something out, and Sean found some cubicle movers that were super efficient and made everything work out.
As for the movers, these guys were awesome! They were all very polite and helpful and did everything we asked them too. I felt horrible because they had no idea what kind of office they were walking into. (We had at least 300 boxes, 4 offices, a conference room). With everything we had, we had a 12 HOUR MOVE.. yes, a 12 hour move! These guys never once complained or anything, they should really be commended (and paid overtime) by their company!
As for using them next time, probably not. The whole administration part really irked me, but they did end up fixing it, but it was just a whole drama I didn't need for a moving day, especially for an office. But, the movers themselves made it enjoyable to move during a stressful day. -

This was the second time we moved with Go Pro, and it was as good as the first one. The guys are efficient, quick, careful and polite. They moved all our stuff very nicely, and quicker (and cheaper) than the estimate. I definitely would use them again and if you are going to move, I suggest you try Go Pro.

They showed up on time and moved almost everything where I wanted it (I just needed a bunch of heavy objects moved inside the house). One thing they did not move, however, was an antique armoire. I had asked if they knew how to take these things apart (that's how the antique store, now out of business, moved it into that room) and they said they did. However, the movers that came to my house didn't seem to know how to do it. So I said it was OK to just shove it out of the way so the painters and contractors could get to the walls. It is over eight feet tall, five feet wide and two feet deep - quite an imposing piece.
Later, I asked an antique dealer how to do it and he gave me some instructions. Turned out to be pretty simple, and me and my contractor took it apart and moved it.
I don't know if they know how to take apart an antique armoire or not. If they want to know, I have the instructions. -

After using 3 other moving companies, I have finally found the best! These guys are truly professional, affordable and highly recommended. We had a simple move of just the large furniture from our 3rd floor apartment to the ground level. They arrived on time, were extremely polite, fast and since they had some extra time left offered to move some of our little boxes as well. Loading/unloading was a breeze.
Highly recommended! -

Palo Alto, CA
These guys are the best! Definitely worth every single penny for their hard work. I unfortunately forgot the names of the team of 3 that moved me from Palo Alto to San Carlos in August, but I'll never forget their positive attitude that carried through when moving all of my crap from my 1 bedroom apartment. "Can we help you with that?", "where would you like these?", and "we can help; just tell us where to put it" were the phrases I remember coming from all three movers. What is also great is how the teamwork is setup. One mover was a leader and the other two followed his instructions. This made the move from my 2nd floor apartment much more efficient.
I was a bit skeptical on the online pricing quote provided by the office headquarters, but Chelsea came pretty close to my final invoice. Still, the pricing is very competitive and very, very reasonable considering all of the hard work and customer service they provide.
This company was highly recommended by a friend/co-worker and you can bet I will pass along the good word of Go Pro Moving & Storage.
PS. Don't forget to tip or buy these guys beers and lunch! -

We used them to move down the street in San Francisco.
They were nonplussed by having to deal with a 4 story walkup. Damaged walls (ie: put a hole in the hallway wall) on the way out.
They put dents and scratches into almost every major furniture item and many items in boxes were not treated with care. Almost nothing was hand carried down the 4 stories, mostly using a dolly and bouncing it down every step.
On the other end they marked walls in the hallway and in the apartment.
It only seemed like one guy knew what he was doing.
The estimate given from a detailed description of what needed to be moved was 3 hours under. (yes, it took 7 hours to move us 4 blocks.) -

Had scheduled a quote for a move, setup an appointment with one of their inspectors, but 3 hours later, no call, and a no show. Got a call the next day explaining that one of their crew guys got hurt, and the inspector needed to lend a hand, so understandable, but a phone call, at a minimum, is required. Anyway, quoted me about 2x the amount I was willing to pay for the move, and I decided to seek out alternatives.
However, on the plus side, I was fairly certain that these guys wouldn't jerk you around on the move, and would have treated me with respect, had I gone with them. -

After reviewing quotes from two other companies, Go Pro Moving - Chelsea came in very competitively so we chose them; our move was very simple (4 pieces of furniture) taking place outside their busiest time-frame. Chelsea email a detailed quote confirming the move day and time, and mail the contract.
They were a bit late but Amber was very helpful on the phone keeping me updated of their whereabouts and once they arrived they started loading up immediately. They were professional, pleasant and efficient. The travel time was very little and it took them 15 min each way to load and unload making this a total of 1.5 hrs - they kept with the estimated time frame "not to exceed" two hours minimum.
It might be helpful to have more words on "Google adwords" related to "movers" for a faster search since I did a Google search but wasn't easy to find them and the same on Yelp.
We would definitely use them again! -

Best moving company I have ever used.
I have gotten screwed multiple times by moving companies and that was not the case with GoPro.
I have used GoPro multiple times and they are always felxiable and easy to work with. In addition to this, the workers are nice, and best of all they don't try to screw with those hidden fees.
Another moving company royally SCREWED me a long time ago with the hidden fees. To be honest it really jaded me toward movers and I wasn't the same for a long time. I now love movers...as long as they are GoPro movers that is! :)
Great company, I will continue to use GoPro on all future moves!!! -

What kind of review do you give to a mover who never showed up? They stood me up. Just like junior prom, I was left high and dry.
If you don't really care when your mover shows up....or if they show up at all...then Go Pro! Otherwise, hire someone else. These guys blew.
I had to scramble at the last minute and find some other mover. Go Pro simply said sorry, they made a scheduling error. They are all bad.
Instead of stars, yelp should use fingers. I would definitely give Go Pro the middle one. Look elsewhere. Trust me. -

Nice estimator guy, but their office staff was non-responsive for the most part, and when they did respond they blamed me when they did not hold our move date like they said they would.
Went with CAL Movers instead, and couldn't have been happier with their service. -

We moved very locally, with very little travel time. The movers were very pleasant, but the packers for the job lacked experience. Dishes were packed in boxes at angles without any paper or protection between them. My white sofa was placed, without any cover, on it's end, with the strap so tightly pressed against it the cushions were smashed. When I saw that, I said something about fixing it, but did not get a chance to watch what they did ti "fix it". Now the sofa is ripped and snagged in 3 places.
We did a walk through with the movers that were there, right away as they unloaded. We then contacted the company, and the owner came out to see our claim. We did drag our feet a little bit getting the paper work in because we were knee deep in boxes. But, we have put a claim into the insurance (which we bought), but are not getting adequate response back to get the sofa replaced or any of the other damage fixed (there is other damage, pretty much a little bit all over the place, but this is the biggest loss). It has been at least 8 weeks without response.
I would not recommend them. I will update as appropriate if we h ave a better ending to this story, but for now I unfortunately have to give this company 2-stars.
Late Update: since previous note, I want to say the owner from GoPro was very good at addressing all of the damages we reported. His follow-through was very good. So, I'd like to add another star to my review. I do hope in the future he makes sure his crew are better trained and more careful. -

The professionals at Go Pro Moving moved us fast and efficiently (not to mention under estimate) from Sunnyvale to Los Gatos. Our three bedroom home, garage and garden furniture was packed up, transported and unloaded within 6 hours.
Co-founder Jason came over to our house for a competitive estimate and because we moved on Sunday we received a 5% discount and a free set of boxes.
Minor damage is inevitable when moving. Jason and his crew pointed out the small damage that happened in the truck and when placing heavy furniture and instructed on how to file a claim. I'd gladly recommend Go Pro Moving to anyone and will use them again. -

My wife and I recently decided to make the transition from apartment renting in the South Bay to home ownership over in the East (Bay) and like our previous apartment community, we wanted the best for our monies worth in making the move.
Thanks to all of the sparkling reviews on Go Pro Moving through Yelp (along with meeting face-to-face with a rep at their office) the decision to choose them out of several other services was a no-brainer.
They arrived on time, explained to me EXACTLY as to how the packing process would go and followed it to a Tee. So thorough in fact that I arrived at my new residence about an hour late while having to call the sales office to unlock the house to let them in in order to unpack.
I know to some that it sounds crazy not being present with the unloading of so many valuables. Both my wife and I are originally from back east and are very good & quick judges of character. The movers at Go Pro were friendly, courteous and went about their business quickly which assured me that they didn't need me breathing down their necks to make sure that they completed their job in a timely manner.
In the past, we've always did the moving ourselves. This was our first experience dealing with a moving company and an outstanding one to say the least.
They definitely put the PRO in Professional.
Oh by the way! Through them I also found a neat alternative to using cardboard boxes for short moves in and around the Bay Area: Zippgo boxes (http://www.zippgo.com) not only help save the environment but also the time and hassle that comes with building and dismantling cardboard boxes. -

GoPro did a wonderful job with my recent move, with a verbal estimate based on my description of the furniture and rough estimate of the number of boxes to move, they reconfirmed our schedule, showed up on time, they had the furniture loaded and ready to go. After a quick lunch break and an hours drive, they had things unloaded and in place in no time at all. They were very efficient, and helped with my overall stress of the move because things went so smoothly and right on budget too.

Go Pro was out best moving experience, out of four different moves in the Bay Area. They moved our house from Mountain View to Cupertino, including packing everything for us, even our china. Movers were amazingly efficient (brought equipment to easily get up steps inside and outside our house), were friendly, professional, and English speaking. Nothing was damaged and final price less than the quote. They also took credit cards, so no running to an ATM for cash as with previous movers. I'd definitely use them again!

They never showed up! I scheduled a move for a Sunday, paid a deposit, received the paperwork in the mail and was told the movers would arrive between 8 and 9 am but they never showed up, never called, nothing. Their office is closed on Sundays so I couldn't reach anyone until the next day. (All they said was the new guy made a mistake.)
(Update) I had to take a day off from work to move the next day; there's no way I would ever give these guys a second chance! I contacted Fix Price Move on Sunday, the day these guys didn't show up and not only were they less expensive and provided more guys (3 instead of just 2) but they were available the next day, the guy in charge of the move called me to go over the details and gave me his number in case there were any issues.Comment from Sean M. of GoPro Moving & Storage 11/15/2010

Thank you, GoPro! I am so happy I found you on Yelp. The movers were great and they complimented me on my packing. I wanted this move to be smooth for me and them. Although, moving is stressful, the guys helped me not think too much about it, from being on time, to meeting me at my new house and wrapping up within the time, they estimated. If you have doubts with timing or scheduling, then call the office to confirm. It gave me piece of mind that everything was going according to plan. I had a few gliches before the move and the office staff helped me see what were my options but in the end, everything worked out.

For moving into my new home, although I've been working out a bit lately, I'm still a software engineer and thus a clumsy oaf, I called these guys to take care of the move.
I was moving from a rather large 1 bedroom apartment on the third floor of a building with no stairs to a home with three floors. There were lots of turns and I had some pretty big furniture.
needless to say, they somehow managed to get all of the furntiure moved in without scratching anything, and while keeping my brand new carpet clean, even though it was raining outside.
They definitely did a great job. -

We just moved last Friday. We were on a tight deadline, as we weren't getting the keys to the new place until 10am but had to be out of our house by 2pm. The guys from GoPro showed up early... yes I said EARLY!, and were working hard by 7:45am. We had more stuff that originally estimated so they had to make 2 truck loads. The first left at 10am on the dot. Unfortunately the people were still at our new house with all there stuff, but we were able to unload in the family room to get the truck back on the road for the second load. They cleared everything out of the old house by just after 2pm (delay only because of other movers) and had all our stuff unloaded by about 5pm... We are talking 2,000 sq ft houses!!!
They were professional, polite, helpful, efficient, strong, quick, and kept moving throughout the day. For a total bonus they were CUTE TOO!!!
I would definitely use these guys again and recommend them to anyone! -

These guys were the dogs bollocks! They Rocked!
We found Go Pro Moving on Yelp. They were the only company who got back to us super quick and provided us with a professional and detailed quote. On the day of the move, Joe and his team Ray and Reggie arrived bang on time and started loading up almost immediately. Pretty soon it was clear we had too much stuff but they somehow managed to make it nearly all fit in their clean truck (important to note) and we were ready to leave the old house right on time.
They were a bit disheartened to see our new house had THREE floors (hahaha) but they made good progress in getting all our stuff in safely without marking it.
Highlight of the day was a tough choice between Reggie showing us his box-cutting skills (very adept) or Ray trying to sell us our own furniture and his house cleaning services (what a joker).
We felt really comfortable with Go Pro Moving and would definitely recommend them to all our friends and yelp buddies.
Thanks again Joe, Reggie and Ray. You guys worked really hard for us!

I was cautious when looking for a mover after two bad experiences with other companies in the past. I could not be happier with this company; the staff gave and estimate and a do not exceed price when asked and were pleasant on the phone and when they came to see what was to be moved.
The day of the move was super! Danny, Max and Victor were gems; carried a baby grand piano down an outside staircase, no complaints. Very professional in every way. And came in well below the do not exceed price. I won't move without them! -

Pros:
- Answered my phone calls immediately
- Sent me a quote when they said they would
- Quoted me fairly accurately
- didn't hold my stuff hostage on the truck and hustle me for $1000 more in cash (or else!)
- were 30 minutes late but communicated so by phone 30 minutes before actually being late (I didn't call them, they called me)
- Made suggestions on what to do (although i'd argue they were a tad toooo long in making them, at 4 men/hour)
Cons: (i'd still use them, but keep in mind:)
- They gouged the crap out of 2 pieces of furniture. Not knicks, actual shredded wood.
- They dropped an incredibly expensive item (and after that, were angels moving my stuff)
I guess with every company you need to expect some knicks, wear and tear, etc; but a firm hand and expectation setting with apologies for being proactive about not messing up your stuff might have helped a bit more. Overall though, when they weren't making suggestions, they were awfully quick, which was nice. -

What do neurosurgery, pumping a septic tank and moving have in common? It's better to pay someone else to do them for you. Now, normally, I am very much a DIY kind of guy, but I hate moving. Between having to corner your friends, renting a truck and hauling all your crap up and down the stairs, it just really sucks.
Although I had a really bad experience using a mover a couple years ago, after seeing so many positive reviews on Yelp, I called Go Pro to help me. I only wish I had done this sooner.
The guys at Go Pro gave me a very reasonable estimate based on how much stuff I had (do everyone a favor and have as much info ready as you can). We agreed on a time and I was set. A few days later, they showed up on time, moved my stuff without incident and came in under the estimate they gave me. What more could you ask for?!
The 3 guys were professional and treated all my stuff well. I fact, I think I break more stuff when I move on my own. They moved my 2 bedroom apartment in about 3 hours and even offered to put my bed frame together for me (I'm not elderly or a chick, but thanks anyway guys).
Probably the only thing keeping anyone from using a mover is the price and the worry about how their possessions will be handled. I can say that Go Pro came through for me on both accounts.
In the future, I will definitely use Go Pro again and so should you. -
Review from Kirin L.

My husband and I learned of this company partially from this review list and partially from his job's "list of shiny businesses." After checking out their website and the reviews - the one my husband remembers most mentions that the reviewer used Go Pro for three different moves - we decided to contact them for our oh so extensive impending move (we moved about 1/8 mile into the next apartment building over, heh).
Now, we're shy and geeky, so one big bonus for any company we do business with is when we can contact them and make arrangements without using one of those dreaded "phone" devices. Yay for moving arrangements made via email and quickly! The initial email and the date of the move were only 8 days apart, and this included some outage that they experienced with email.
We received an estimate for about four hours of moving time, and the move was completed in two and a half hours. All of our stuff came to the new place in excellent condition, and our piece of shit couch actually was in better condition, since they had bothered to figure out the connecting mechanism better than the previous folks who moved our crap.
Their prices were far better than four other local (and reputable) moving companies, and what we liked most about that was that including an extra "man" (well, they DID send all males) was done at a discounted-ish rate, not a multiple of what one would cost.
This may seem culturist, fine, but it meant a lot to us that everyone spoke English. It makes communicating far easier when that's the language that we speak. About a year ago, when we originally moved into the apartment that we just moved out of, only one of the movers spoke any English at all so all directions had to go through that gentleman. I can imagine scenarios where something is missing, broken, or just plain in the wrong place that communication in a common language can help solve.
Oh, the guys all took the time to introduce themselves and they all had firm handshakes. Call me odd, but that sort of thing strikes me as well-mannered and puts me at ease when dealing with people, especially people who are about to move my crap and receive money.
I like the way these guys do business. If they keep up the good work, they'll be the premier movers in this area. Oh, their trucks are very shiny! -
Review from John B.

I had a similar experience as Cal and Eve during my move in January. They were supposed to send 3 people, only two showed up - 90 minutes late. They were really slow moving stuff. I had a budget and had worked with their estimator to establish how much could be moved within the allotted time frame. Only half of my furniture was moved (and none of the boxes) and I had to stop them at that point. One of the main reasons it was so slow was because they insisted on using this old small elevator that responds and moves very slowly. They did not use the stairs like Allied did when I originally moved into the place (they were good and quick).
I wrote them an email detailing the things that I liked about their service and the things I did not. I invited them to respond back so that they could get more details on how to improve their business. Never heard back from them after they got my money.
I am not disputing those who had good experiences, but I think this group of movers is hit or miss. I knocked them down to two stars from three because of this perceived inconsistency. -

We had a good experience with GoPro Moving. They actually came to look at the apartment to quote, which I thought was a big plus. That helps everyone be clear on time, volume, the unique stairways and gates, etc.
The quote was competitive and beat out another quote we had so we went with them. I felt since that they had actually seen what we had that it would be pretty accurate too (it was!)
The guys showed up right on time and worked pretty hard. We had a 2BR apt with a lot of stuff (we'd previously moved from a house) and stairs- they had everything moved out in 2-2.5 hrs.
The moving in at our new apartment was tricky, we had a tight entrance way and some tricky stairs. Everytime things were tight, they mentioned it so we could watch or check if things got damaged. We had a hell of a time with our queen sized boxspring but they would NOT give up! It made it :).
It was a hot day and we were happy and pleased with the service and the overall effort the guys made. A few minor scratches or and one container of breadcrumbs broke open in a box (i blame me, the packer, but what a mess!!!) but other than that, great job. We were under time and budget which is always nice.
We'd book these guys if we have to move again. Thanks!

I went with this company after researching quite a bit. A good BBB rating and good reviews on Yelp!
I moved on a Tuesday, which has a three hour minimum. I'm also on a super tight budget. It was nice that there were NO hidden charges at all. What they quoted me per hour is what I paid - no extra for the wardrobes, saran wrap, blankets, straps, nothing. It was nice! I was worried about the extra it would be for the saran wrap, but was very happy that it was included.
I asked my friend to come over and help me move - she and I helped out by carrying many of the boxes downstairs. It took about 2 hours to load the truck and everything was loaded carefully and efficiently. THen a 15 minute drive to my new house and another 45 minutes to unload. I just had them stack all the boxes into the garage, put the furniture in the rooms.
I'm very happy with the job Go Pro did with my move and am likely to go with them again if I ever move again! Both guys that helped me move were very nice. And they got me in at just 3 hours, the minimum for a weekday. -

One bedroom apt move from San Jose to Mt. View during one of biggest periods of rain in the bay area in recent years.
They had to reschedule my original time/day of move because of uncontrollable weather related events..no big deal.
Great movers...they are clean, friendly, professional, courteous, and considerate. Any type of a move is stressful, Chris and the movers from Go Pro made it so much easier.
I had everything packed up and ready to go..they hauled everything in their truck, transported, and delivered to my new place within three hours.
I highly recommend them. I did a lot of research before selecting GoPro. Their prices are fair and quite reasonable! I will definitely be using them again when I move! Thanks Chris and Go Pro!! -
