Love this Goodwill! So many treasures to find. Just go there with a list of stuff you're lookin' for, and they're bound to have some version of it. Yesterday I was on the lookout for sunglasses, a jewelry stand, and some sweaters/cardigans. I found sunglasses (almost the exact same ones I had broken) and everything else... for 11 bucks. That's my kind of deal.

Plus, the staff is super ass nice. Borderline creepy nice... 'cause I'm thinking seriously, "Have a GREAT night!" is just not something you hear in retail very much.

Nice duds to be found here!  Especially for children!  Nice and they have a "Better Than Items" where you find True Religions, Seven for All Mankind....etc for $19.99.  Not bad!

Shoes oh my good finds - especially that Italian leather!  Nice finds!  overall a really good store!  So good that I went to the register to whine about  a brand new pair of Marc Jacobs shoes for my little princess was priced at 9.99.  Before, I could get a word out the cashier said, "what kinda mess is this" 4.99....thought Jesus came down and touched me!!!  Whew what a blessing!!!  Heaven was a dancing!!!

Good finds!  all the times!!!  Oh, forgot cool computer stuff at ROCK Bottom prices!!

When I'm visiting a city, I usually check out its thrift store to get a feel of the local style. Man, I'm glad I came here!

This store was a 20-minute walk from the hotel I was staying at, and though I felt Howard Street became sketchier the further I walked on my way there, but not to the point of me becoming a scared little girl. I crossed over to 11th and found Mission, and found this awesome thrift store.

They had a large selection of shoes, but unfortunately the 6s and 7s are too small for my big 8 1/2 - 9 feet. At the very last moment I managed to find a pair of Nine West shoes in my size. I probably looked in the shoe area four or five times. When going to a thrift store, you've gotta look long and hard for stuff.

I also found a lot of cute kimono tops and dresses there, but had to stop because I was getting too happy with those. I also found sweaters that looked to be from the '80s, but with my savvy fashion sense I could modernize them.

I browsed through the book selection and although I didn't buy anything, I found the selection akin to a Barnes & Noble. These were books people would actually buy, not those cheap romance novels with Fabio on the cover that only a bored housewife would read.

Also, attractive men seem to be here. Living in the DC area, the only male attention I get is from the scrubbiest scrubs, so it caught me off-guard to have an attractive (short and middle-aged, but I can't deny he was attractive) man approach me to tell me he loved my dreads. Wow. I was also surprised he was White, because in DC the only time White men acknowledge me is to knock me out of the way to rush to the Metro. Go figure.

I got a pair of shoes, a bunch of kimono dresses and tops, two sweaters and a scarf for less than $40. Can you beat that at a regular retail store? I doubt it!

I've been to 4 or 5 Goodwills here in the city and this one was a little disappointing.  It is really massive, but at the same time...didn't really have anything too spectacular.  Maybe it was just because it was a week before Halloween, but things were just hectic and disorganized.  The staff was friendly, although I felt the security kept following me around for no reason.  I can't complain too much though...I got a scarf, little briefcase thing, and a glass mixing bowl all for under $3.  I don't think I'm going to make any special trips out here though.

Look, "in this economy" (phrase ™ Martin W., 2009) it behooves the concerned consumer to shop savvily... not at Saville Row.  You savvy?

Seriously, tho, Goodwill is kind of like Denny's.  You remember growing up and one kid would say "let's go to the Denny's by the mall," and someone else would say "okay, let's go to Denny's but let's go to the *good* Denny's, over by the Interstate."

The Goodwill on Mission at Van Ness is the "good Goodwill."

I don't know who the hell it is that's donating here, but they are snappy dressers--I've gotten clothes here that are... uh... nicer... than... uh... some of my store-bought...

Look, there's some good stuff here.  Yeah, yeah, there's a lot of garbage, too, but where else do you get a Brooks Brothers lambs wool sweather with zero pilling for $5?

This is thrifting at its finest.  And the best part is that the inventory gets a refresh every week, so you're not morosely sifting through the same wrinkly Van Heusen shirts and Lee jeans everytime you stop in.  There are gems, here.

GEMS I TELL YOU!!!! GEMS!!!  Truly outrageous.  Truly truly truly outrageous, oooowhooooaaaaooo GEM.  Martin: out.

Could getting a tax deduction be any easier?

Drive up and make u-turn in their lot.

Drop off your "junk" with the cordial workers.

Fill out a receipt and name your tax deduction price.  That's right, you determine your "junk's" value.

The hardest part was gathering all the "junk" and deciding what to do with it all.   No need to decide where to go anymore...if you're in SF.  One man's "junk" is definitely going to be someone else's treasure here, as they take just about anything (no pillows).

As for the store itself, I've only shopped it a couple of times, and wasn't looking for anything in particular.  I did find a nice microwave cart there at one point for cheap.  The store's good if you're up for the browse.

I found the champaign saucers I've been looking for everywhere. . .here. $.99 each. Done.

The women's clothing section had a few good surprises too. The lady who helped me checkout was pretty funny and very helpful.

Bummer: parking. When I'm carrying precious glass treasures I hate hiking all the way back to my car. I am so spoiled.

Five stars for the book selection alone!

The fiction aisles were full of all sorts of things I wanted to read - I was able to pick up the Ruth Reichl I had been eyeing for the past few months, along with the newest Kate Christensen book, and a few guilty pleasures and I only ended up paying about a quarter of what one of those books would have cost new. Plus, I will now be able to learn what is actually "wrong with Kansas" after a trip through the non-fiction section.

The trip would have been a lot more pleasant if one of my fellow shoppers smelled a bit better and if he would have stopped muttering "books...books...books" while he pretended to peruse whatever section I happened to be in at the time. Viva San Francisco!

I'm an experienced Goodwill/secondhand/thrift shopper, and this Goodwill is the mama bear of all its stores in San Francisco. You will enter expecting nothing, but you'll always leave with something! And the stuff that people donate here is amazing. I have furnished 90% of every apartment I've ever lived in through Goodwill. Don't be a sucker and pay for overpriced, overrated stuff from Target or IKEA. If you're moving into a new place or just looking to update your wardrobe/household decor, come here and get a deal. You will leave happy as fuck. After all, paying retail is for losers.

Tightwad Tip # 27: Sometimes YOU don't find the bargain...the bargain finds YOU.

Tightwad Tip # 62: Make sure everyone you know knows what you're looking for...the more eyes out there working for you, the better.

I had been looking for a solid-wood armoire for over a year but couldn't bring myself to go too far into the triple digits. Several times a month I would poke around the internet hoping for a miracle, to no avail.

Then, a few weeks ago, my ex called and announced "I'm at the Goodwill on South Van Ness and there's something here I think you will be very interested in."

I got there as soon as I could and what did I see? A solid wood armoire...for $85!!! I ordered my ex to stand guard against interlopers as I ran to the cash register to stake my claim. Somehow, he and I managed to get it onto the roof of his van so I didn't have to pay to have it delivered, although the store has the name and number of a guy who will deliver stuff at very reasonable rates.

Once I got home, I dismantled my existing particle board piece of crap and put my new treasure in its place:
http://www.yelp.com/bi...

My parents happened to be visiting at the time, so my dad helped the ex and me get the armoire up the elevator and into my apartment. During the bustle a neighbor walked by and complimented me on the piece. I proudly related the story of my lucky find, after which my dad got a pained look on his face and whispered "Do you HAVE to tell everyone you buy your furniture at the Goodwill?!"

Why, yes. Yes, I do. Hey, everyone...I buy my furniture at the Goodwill!

I just recently went to this Goodwill for the first time, and it's pretty amazing! We couldn't spend much time here so I forced myself to just avoid the entire women's section, knowing that once I started I'd have to be forcefully dragged away in order to get me out of the store. They had a great selection of shoes, an even bigger section for books, and tons of computer stuff at this counter right when you walk in! I've been wanting a Apple keyboard for a while and they had a huge tub of these just on a desk. Unfortunately these were older keyboards and had grime in them, but I enjoyed perusing through all the cheap electronics anyway (sub-$100 monitors! yum!). Definitely coming back in the future.

Here is why I am five star impressed with Goodwill Industries:

They have a comprehensive technology recycling program.  So instead of old computers, gadgets, cell phones and the like being landfill fodder they are recycled and/or rehabbed.  If they are rehabbed they are sold in the GW stores or given to non-profits in need.

Clothes and couches aside, that alone is worthy of five stars.

Our family grew up very poor. As first generation immigrants from Vietnam, there were days when a new pair of shoes or socks was just an unreasonable expense for my wonderful parents. They had to feed my six siblings for goodness sake.

Here is a semi-funny story. It was the third grade, and I was forced to wear my sister's pink and green striped socks because there was no other option. The horror. Some kid named _______ punched me in the stomach and a girl named _______ called me a sissy. I walked home crying to my older brother. Here I was, this kid with pink socks and an inferiority complex.

My older brother and I took the bus to the local Goodwill to remedy this sock situation. We discovered that there were kind people who donated their old clothes to the Goodwill to benefit people just like us. Since, I've graduated to wearing new socks, but the good people at the Goodwill saved the day for me. I'll never forget it.

5 stars.

* I recently had the pleasure of touring the back-office and warehouse at this location. It's quite remarkable. I looked for those pink socks, but couldn't find them...

This is a good store doing good things. I worked for this agency for 8 years. One thing potential donors should keep in mind is that the local Goodwill was spending somewhere between $250,000-$400,000 annually for "dump fees" for items that were not in good enough shape to sell when I was there.

They don't fix broken appliances, or mend torn clothes. They use the money they make in the store for job training and job placement. When they have to throw out the things that are not up to snuff, that costs them a bundle, and takes away from their mission of helping the disabled and disadvantaged.

I have a ritual.  Actually, I have many rituals, but only one is relevant to this review.  So let me start again.

I have a ritual: every six months, I go through my closet, and anything I haven't worn in the last year, goes.  Exceptions exist only for "specialty" clothes, like my tux shirt.  There is no debate, no discussion, it just goes.  In a big bag, that sits in the den, waiting for me to make it to Goodwill.

As a result of this ritual, my closet is....well, it's no less stuffed with clothes, but it's stuffed with clothes I ACTUALLY WEAR.  I have told others about this ritual and their reactions (somewhat akin to reactions I've gotten regarding some of my other rituals) have largely fallen under the "shock" and "horror" categories.  My mom asked me if I did this to clothes that had "sentimental" value.  I do.  Although, honestly, I have very few clothes that have "sentimental" value to me.  And the last one of those, a white-on-white striped tab-collared Gap dress shirt, hit the Goodwill bag years ago.  Apparently, this makes me "unsentimental."  Thanks mom!

Anyway, we all benefit from my ritual.  I unburden myself from clothes that I don't use, broke hipsters get to dress ironically in my old clothes ("check this weird shit out, man, somebody actually WORE this!"), and somehow, poor people who need money also benefit.  I need all the karma points I can get.

San Francisco needs more fat people.  Specifically, San Francisco needs more fat men.  Now, before all the chubby-chaser or whatever-the-male-equivalent-term-is PMs begin flooding in, please know that I'm not gay and am not looking for a fat boyfriend.  I realize that anyone who says in a public place that he's not gay is instantly categorized as either a homophobe or a closeted gay man, but I'm neither of these things.  I realize that anyone who is accused of being a homophobe or a closeted gay man always says he's neither of these things when he's accused of being either a homophobe or a closeted gay man, but again, I'm neither of these things.  I have friends who--oh, never mind.

In any case, I normally don't really like going to thrift stores in San Francisco because all the men who donate their clothes to thrift stores in San Francisco are very thin.  This may not seem like a big deal, but it really is.  I mainly go to thrift stores for pants, and most thrift stores have aisles and aisles of pants with 30- and 32-inch waists.  Sorry, I'm not in high school anymore, I don't do heroin, and I'm not an annoying hipster, so I need bigger pants.  I'm also fat, and unlike said hipsters, I tend to like to feel comfortable in what I'm wearing.

So I'm giving this Goodwill four stars because I was able to find three pairs of pants that fit me!  Yea.  And I bought them, and the total came out to $15 and change.  And there wasn't a sale going on.  So I'm happy.  Well, not really, but I am happy to recommend this place to other people.  They do have an awful lot to offer, and the fitting rooms are clean, although I wish you could lock the doors.

Where do rich people drop their clothes when they're too lazy to sell them to consignment shops? Thaz right, the Goodwill. This is the mama of all Goodwills in the city, and I have to say, it's the bomb diggity.

Jessica T and I went scavenging, and made out like bandits with two amazing frames for $10. And to imagine... I once found Uggs there for $3! Make sure to take a gander at the jewelry, purses and shoes -- they get in some pretty unique vintage finds.

This place is also worth checking out around Halloween, when all of the weird fashion sense that exists in San Francisco can be found in one spot and be retooled to fit your vision. And for those of us who have weird fashion sense every day? You've hit the jackpot, baby.

I have never been inside the store; I've only donated...and I think I donate pretty awesome stuff. But this review is about something extraordinary that happened with the staff at Goodwill I thought everyone should know about. It's been several months ago (I'm slack about timely reviews) but I donated close to closing and was parked near the white gates as I was carrying my clothing to the employees. (Side note: I'd encourage every woman out there with stellar fashion sense to donate to Good will instead of going to Crossroads--why wait in line to have your stuff sifted through piece meal and then rejected half the time for store credit when you can donate to such a wonderful cause as Goodwill without the hassle?) Anyhow, along comes the metermaid, and not a nice one either. She starts to write me a ticket because I'm blocking a driveway. I don't fully comprehend what's happening, because I'm donating, and blocking what? the gates are closing because they're closing...so the employees try to talk to said metermaid, but she ignores him and writes the ticket anyhow. I can't recall, but it's something like $75! I was bummed out. THe manager came out and took the ticket and said that they would pay for it, that what happened wasn't right. I told him I would try to dispute it, but he said he didn't want the fine to double and he knows how DPT can be about these things. And, the manager was true to his word. No ticket on my record. What a great guy. I only wish I could remember his name to say thanks. Everyone should shop here...who knows, maybe even I will someday!:)

Yay, Goodwill! Not since I left the good old YC, my high school stomping grounds when my bff and I trolled the aisles of second hand stores to put together the most awesome and rad outfits (only to us really), have I enjoyed surfing a thrift store so intensely.

I always think that Goodwills are like gambling, you never know if you are going to win, but it's the process that is the fun of it. You can go and leave with a killer costume or almost empty handed (somehow this never really happens to me, they sell BOOKS yo!) but its always fun. And thisclose to public transportation so you don't have to carry your 2 bags full of loot too far to get on the bus or muni.

Here are highlights from my last couple of trips there.

* Almost the entire collection of Lemony Snicket books for my nephews in pristine condition and a $1.50 a pop.
* A large  pale blonde wooden wicker basket that I know use for storing shoes in my closet for $5.00.
* Some very cool additions to my silver and pewter collections, a little polishing never hurt anyone. Now I use this pretty raised candy dish to hold my rings when I wash the dishes.
* Brand new tiki torches for our outside BBQs this summer $1.50 each.
* Last but not least a pink wool pencil skirt that is tres chic and very 1958 Mad Men.

After writing that, I totally want to make a pit stop on my way home. AND PS! They accept your credit card. Awesome.

Warning! Shopping at Goodwill is addictive! I now have a fabulous cashmere sweater collection! It takes a little work, but the treasures found are well worth the challenges of shopping here. I only wish I owned a car or truck so I could take advantage of some the fantastic furniture I sometimes see in the window - there was an antique stained cherry vanity set in there today that broke my heart. Plus, you have the added benefit of knowing your dollars are going right back into the community. Everybody wins.

This is the best Goodwill! I have found tons of really really great stuff here. A lot of fun !!

Dont bother asking staff for anything, they are not helpful, but browsing is a trip well worth taking

I am not sure what it is , but the other thrift stores in SF are way over priced and not that great. The one on mission is BHLAaa!

This on is more of a wow or a holy shhhhhh!

Boo... I just wanted an old TV tray but none were to be found here.

As far as Goodwill stores go, this one ain't much. The housewares selection is relatively poor and the dishes aren't as cheap as I would expect from a Goodwill.

I did pick up some brand-new turquoise tights for a buck ninety-nine, though. And they took my donations.

The other donation stations only take clothes and books, but this one takes anything and everything.

A popcorn popper from 1977, TV that doesn't work, rusty metal racks from the oven, dusty books, broken chairs, they take it all!

And even though to me the stuff was worth nothing at all, as it had been sitting in my mother's basement for 25 years, they still offered to make me a receipt for my mother's tax returns.

And they never once laughed at me or the crap I was giving them.  Even though I personally was embarrassed to have such crap and to bring such crap to them, thinking they would even want it.

Ok, so usually, Goodwill is OK for vintage shopping and I rarely frequent them.  However, there are ALWAYS exceptions and this Goodwill is the exception.

I'll give you a little secret about this place.  SAMPLE PIECES, NAME BRAND SAMPLE PIECES and UNWORN SAMPLE PIECES!  If that means anything to any of you vintage shoppers or you name brand whores out there, you'll get to skippin' on over there.

A friend of mine wanted to go there today to buy a funny looking skirt for her "funny" party (whatever that means *rolls eyes with a question mark) this evening.  I left with some very cool pieces and one of which no one else in this city will have.  VINTAGE baby!!  I spent under $40 and I left with a $200+ pair of Michael Kors designer heels (unworn), a pair of "nice ass" pants from diesel, another pair of very cute Levi jeans, a sweet polyester black vintage dress, a brand new rustic sweatshirt, a really cute DKNY vest and a an old hall mixing bowl that would normally cost me $150 in the antique shop and yes, it is real:).  Ahhh, it was a good day at this shop!

Perks..you support the disabled people in San Francisco who are able to work.  Much props for that.  You have a dressing room that is actually pretty nice in comparison to some of their other dressing rooms and you have a HUGE selection of clothing!!

Not so perks..If you are the not-so-great vintage shopper you will be in and out in an hour.  If you are the expert and know that vintage shopping and finding true, unique pieces to your true self...you will be there for hours!!
Drink lots of coffee!!

Oh and that David guy who works up front, he's super cool:)

I have been forced to buy many couches in the last 4 years, because my cat craps on them and he is an asshole.
Fortunately, I bought another kitten and my cat stopped crapping.  He is now too busy hissing and attacking his new little brother.
So thank god now I can get new furniture and blood is better than crap because doesn't smell and comes right out with stain remover!

The other day I acquired a futon, so I decided to check out this Goodwill for a small coffee table type thingy with hopefully a slippery surface and sharp corners to teach the cats a lesson if they climb on it.   I didn't find one at this location, but I did find a few empty squirt bottles, some rope and hooks, a blowtorch, and a how-to book on raising your kitten, all for under $15.

I want to come back to try on aprons, wedding veils and large black boots!!  The selection here is huge!  And everything is clean.  I hate leaving a thrift store feeling like I am crawling with bugs and have shit stuck on my ass.  Like my cats.

For under $20 you can go one of two ways.

Me:
blue shirt, blue skirt, blue furry kids costume to be cut up later, blue ugly dress to be cut up and used for excess fabric (costume to be revealed later), an awesome beer stein for roommate to drink out of on his birthday (Sorry to spoil the surprise), and a awesomely ugly floral dress perfect for an upcoming yacht rock party.

Him:
almost white khakis, pretty tacky Hawaiian shirt made for smooth sailing, mini keyboard that i have yet to hear work, a kids toy that hoots, baahs, plays twinkle twinkle little star and puts on a pretty killer light show and if he plays it one more time i might throw it against a wall (nah...i would never), and a pretty killer wood sailor with a corn cob pipe.

Yes, those are the only ways you can go at Goodwill for under $20.  No, i keed...its a funkin wonderland of amazement, awesome clothes, terrible clothes, furniture, dishes, and apparently a lot of noisy kids toys.   This one is huge.  Go here.  Funk the other places.  Goodwill is where its at yo.  And...its funking cheap!!

I've only been to this store once for the sole purpose of finding a wooden chair for my kitchen.  I was pleasantly surprised to find something that fit the bill right away so I picked it up and headed on over to the cash register.   On my way to the register this crazed homeless guy comes walking right at me and says -

-Hey man that's my chair.

Now I wasn't quite sure if at one point in time it actually was his chair or if he was staking claim to it before it left the store.   Having spent a great deal of time working with the homeless I knew that the best thing to do in this situation was just to remain silent.

-Yeah man, I saw that chair earlier and was gonna buy it but if you want it you can give me 5 bucks and I'll let you have it.

All the while he is looking around nervously like we're in the middle of some crack deal on Golden Gate and Leavenworth.   Now, one of the wonderful things about homeless people on the fourth day of a stimulant run is that they can't tolerate the anxiety that long periods of silence produce.  So I just continued to stand there in silence.

-Ok fine man I'll let you have for 3 bucks........Damn Man just give me a dollar and you can have the chair.

I did no such thing and watched him head towards the children's toy section.....

-Hey lady that's my doll house.

That's the other thing about the fourth day of a stimulant run.....shaking people down at Goodwill seems like a brilliant idea.  Four stars for the plan.

This is a review of the donation services only. I have not been inside the store.

This is the only Goodwill in the city that accepts furniture.

The drive-in area for donations is on Mission about half a block before Van Ness.  There's a big gate there (behind it you can see the Goodwill trucks).  Drive in, make a u-turn back by the trucks and then get in line on the right.  On a Saturday morning, there was a line of cars, and 2-3 people from Goodwill helping remove items from cars, filling out receipts, etc.

As a warning, I did try to drop items off on a Friday afternoon (duing a time their website says they accept donations) and the gate was shut.  Not sure why, but when I came back on Saturday it was super easy.

One of the best thrift stores in SF!

I have to confess - I hate thrift stores. They smell dreadful -- the clothing doesn't impress me much and I try to avoid them.

There are a few things I look for at these kind of thrift stores: housewares & pictureframes.

I've found some great bargains at this thrift store - particularly picture frames. Never spend money on picture frames again -- buy frames for both the frame and the glass -- there are some frames that are really easy to re-use (the extruded aluminum type with clips) and even crappy frames in standard sizes with good glass are a score if only for the glass. Cutting your own mats is not difficult. You can also get good housewares at this Goodwill - cheap wineglasses and such.

The SF Goodwill has some great information on their site -- they have diverted 75% of all donated materials from landfill and placed 700 folks in jobs. They also recycle computers and peripherals and have diverted 1.2 million pounds of that stuff from landfills. Good for the planet - definitely!

Goodwill, how can I thank you?

You accept almost all of my household goods and clothes that I've become bored of.  When I upgrade, I bring you my items that are YEARNING for another home.

You don't judge me for being materialistic.  IN FACT, you make me feel good about it.  You thank me for providing my shoes, purses, luggage, belts, clothing, watches, office supplies, and books. When relocating to Europe, I gave you 45% of all my worldly goods and you accepted them....

I am glad that you find people that want and need my things.  Plus, I can deduct my donations on my taxes...

(yeah..sounds all about me...but don't let anybody else know that I am glad that you can help those in need....)

Thanks!

This place is huge.  I swear it takes up a whole block.  It includes a store, a Goodwill center (I have no idea what happens in here), and donation services.  When spring cleaning comes around, this is where I go with all my stuff.

The donation services are in the parking lot on Mission St.  You just pull right up and leave it with the guy at the entrance (next to the open truck).  I think if you have bigger stuff they will direct you further into the lot to drop it off.

Really easy.  No hassle.

Awesome Golf Pants (a perfect fit): $5
Blue weekend shirt: $3.50
Thin striped cotton sweater for biking: $3.50
Checked cotton tie: $2
6 Records (Stevie Wonder, Fleetwood Mac, Tom Petty, etc.): $7.50

Not the best thrift store in the world, but there are finds to be found. And this is definitely one of the better ones in SF, especially for people like me who loathe going to overpriced consignment/high-end "thrift" stores.

Still, if you wanna talk Good Thrifting, places like Central Florida, South Carolina & the cities of the rust belt (Pittsburgh, Cincinnati, Indianapolis) have SF in a choke hold. Then again, the best thing I can say about some of those cities is that they've got good thrifting...

Here is the deal....

1) If you know your style...go to goodwill in the mission
2) If you like vintage cloth...go to goodwill in the mission
3) If you want to spend money for a good cause...go to goodwill in the mission
4) If you want cheap cool cloth...go to goodwill in the mission
5) If you have patience and spend time on looking for the stuff you like....go to goodwill in the mission

6) If you DONT have patience and want to mingle with hipsters...the DONT GO TO GOODWILL AND GO TO YOUR LOCAL MALL.

ex: I bought this light gray skinny blazer by Christian Dior (used of course) for only $10......you can't beat that.. The money goes to help homeless people and train them for jobs so they can survive on their own.

Goodwills tend to be hit and miss, and sometimes they are not the cheapest option.  This one is, by far, my favorite.  It is organized well, clean and has a couple changing rooms.  I almost always find something great here.  It is huge!  I could spend hours in the women's shirt section alone.  They also have a decent dress section.  I bought my beloved blender here, as well.  Parking is next to impossible (and the meters are expensive), so I recomend taking MUNI.

Finally, a place that will take your old computer equipment!  I thought I would never be able to get rid of that 21" gorilla of a CRT monitor, or that non-faxing printer.  And yes, I did hit up my retro-tech-parts-collecting friends, but even they are at capacity these days.  Incidentally, Goodwill will accept things in non-working condition as well.  Also, I have no idea if any of the other locations take computer stuff or just this one.

Can't review it from the shopping side of things, because I didn't go in.  (I haven't yet mastered the ancient hipster art of shopping at thrift stores.)

Ok, this is hands down the biggest Goodwill in the city.  The selection is diverse, you can find something for work and something for a 1987junior prom within a 2 feet radius.  The price is reasonable.  My top finds yesterday: a Tory Burch cotton top (appears spanking new) for $3.50 and a Calvin Klein wool sweater vest for $5.50. Some great steals in this thrift haven, all you need is a little patience and luck.
