She really is the best. (I promise the rest of this review isn't a parrot to others).

She quoted me two weeks to alter my wedding gown when other places said a month.

No reviews have any numbers mentioned and let's be honest we want to know what sort of bottom line we might get into...
She charged me $120 to hem several layers of an extremely delicate silk (she told me herself it's very difficult to work with), plus she made a small alteration to the neckline. I expected to pay around $200.

The quality of the workmanship is excellent. Considering the fabric I would have been willing to pay even more for her work.

If you live outside of downtown and have to drive here it's annoying because you have to pay to park. That's my only complaint.

I heard a lot of great things about this place, but I'll never know. It says they open at 9, but I waited until 9:15 then I had to move on with my life. Especially because I was double parked on a fire hydrant in a school zone crosswalk (just kidding about the parking) Tried to call but no answer. I hope nothing bad happened to the person who was supposed to be there, and I guess it worked out to my advantage because I ended up at wonderful Thimbelina's!!!

Alterations done right!!! Nice and friendly service. They did a wonderful job to my elopement dress and my husband's shirt.

Be very very specific with what you want done to your garments or you will be left with ruined clothing. One of my dresses was completely butchered. Straps removed and misplaced, total nightmare.

I have been to a couple tailors here and was always disappointed until I found Gonzales on the recommendation of a friend.  I was helped quickly and at a reasonable price for the work done.  Everything was finished three days before I told them I needed it (I was told he wanted to leave time to make adjustments if I was not satisfied...but this proved unnecessary as the work was great)

I would definitely recommend this store and that's saying a lot.  I often use Yelp to find places but seldom take the time to review anything.  If you have tailoring needs this is where I would recommend you go!

I was in town for a trade show and needed two shirts hemmed in a very short time.  I called three other places who turned me down flat and was just about to give up when I called Gonzales.  She was very kind on the phone and said she could help me.  She rushed them for me and they were ready exactly when I was told they would be.

We had a miscommunication about their hours of operation on the pickup day but they stayed at the shop until I got there because they knew I needed the shirts that day.  Then they ironed one of them for me (and offered to do both) when they found out I had to wear it immediately.  I paid $40, which was a lot, but not at all unreasonable considering I wanted them back in 2 days.

I cannot say enough about the wonderful service I received at Gonzales.  I wish they were close enough to where I live that I could use them all the time!  Highly, highly recommend!!

I was referred to Gonzalez Tailoring by my regular dry cleaner.  Owner Huong Tran runs this small shop in the CBD out of a very small store front.  However, their work is second to none.  I took a uniform jacket that was too big that I needed tailored ASAP for a special event.

She basically disassembled the jacket, cut it everywhere, and sewed it back together for a perfect fit.

    I highly recommend this place.

I was visiting New Orleans for a short stay prior to continuing onto Florida for a wedding. I purchased a sport coat that needed alterations, and on short notice the folks at Gonzalez Tailoring were able to take care of me. The service was great and the jacket fit perfectly. They also sell quality ties made by local designers at a good price. I highly recommend.

I was new to New Orleans and needed a tuxedo altered for a Mardi Gras Ball. I popped in and was helped immediately. Got a great fitting and had my tux in plenty of time. Not to mention the price was very reasonable. I would strongly recommend Gonzales Tailors.

Well, the shop is definitely small with the bulk of it being the size of a typical hallway with 2 very tiny changing rooms. there are chairs for you to sit while waiting for your turn at the mirror. there's only one person who does the pinning, so be prepared to wait a while if you're here during your lunch break. the tailor was very nice and knowledgable judging by what she was telling this one guy about his suit (someone pinned it for him and he took it here, and she said alterations don't work like that).

i waited about 20 minutes to be fitted, and all i needed were two jeans hemmed up. i could do it myself, but who am i kidding? so she folds up the extra 100 ft (exaggeration, of course) of fabric from my jeans because i'm just sooo short and that was pretty much it. i also needed to get a zipper fixed on a pair of jeans.

my 3 jeans were ready the following the week, and she explained to me what the charges were:

    $27 - 2 jeans hemmed (original seam)
$15 - 1 jean needed new zipper, so she put on an extra sturdy one

she did a great job, but the original hem part was a tad overpriced in my opinion. i'd still recommend Gonzales though =)

Ms. Tran is the best in the business!!! I'm a Pastor that also has a secular job in the CBD, so I wear suits almost everyday and she keeps me looking sharp. My wife who is 5"1 & a size 2 almost always has to have her dresses and suits altered also swears by her. She even does "swag" accents to my new suits (contrasting lapel pin-holes colors). Drop your job off on Monday and it will be ready by Friday. Excellent craftsmanship!!!
