13 reviews for Golf N' Stuff
This review is of the mini-golf courses only.
A group of 5 of us went here on Friday after the bowling alley next door tried to get us to pay $20 each to bowl. Like hell, lane jockeys.
The courses are so much fun! Really intricate and well maintained. The themes of some of the holes are such a blast-an old west mine shaft, awesome castle, a mission. We had a great time, and places like this that were 'so dorky' in high school actually provide a lot of fun when you're in your less self-centered mid twenties.
Don't know about the "N' Stuff" but the Golf is great!

It's got Golf.... N' Stuff.
It's also got Teenyboppers, and bitter Teenagers working there.
'Nuff said.

MIN GOLF $8.75 EACH?
Stopped in on the way home to LA from Santa Barbara. Place was dead on a Thursday afternoon. Arcade room looked ok, nothing fancy.
There are two separate mini golf courses you can do, just don't shoot the 18th hole or you lose your balls. Course was maintained really well except the pools and streams were ugly blue and barely filled or evaporated. The courses themselves were not too challenging and kind of repetitive, but fun nonetheless.
Bumper boats looked more like bumper boat swamp.
Minimum charge for refreshments if using a credit card, at least 2 medium sodas.
Will go somewhere else next time.
Golf N Stuff is fun. It really can be. Well if you don't work here.
Yes, I am a former employee of Golf N Stuff. My first job ever. It was fun, some of the time, but how much fun can it be being yelled at by rich demanding parents and kids when you work at the prize counter.. Haha.. Good times..
As for the place as a patron, I think you can have a ton of fun here. The courses are actually very nice and surprisingly well kept (I say surprisingly for a reason). Very clean.
How can you not have fun on the Indy Cars? I just wouldn't go on them when its a little chilly because the eyes start to water against the wind. Bumper cars are bumper cars and the Bumper boats are actually pretty fun too.
The arcade is filled with Old School arcade games, they keep up with DDR and always order the newest game and get it up and running as soon as they can.
I know for a fact that the managers go out to all the Expos to try and get the newest type of game there is out there.
On the weekend nights (Fri-Sun) you do have to pay an "entrance" fee which is $5 but you do get to spend that $5 in the park itself (Tokens, Rides, Golf) so technically you aren't losing much money since you're probably going to spend that much anway. The "entrance" fee is per car, but if you're walking up its per person. This is one of the down points of the place, but it keeps away loitering people who are just there to cause issues.
A little expensive, but its fun. I'd probably take my kids here for Mini Golf and the Indy Cars one day.

This place has quality putt putt, while not an officially sanctioned putt putt facility it still adheres to the fundamental spirit of the game, the sense of joyously putting around firmly entrenched.
All and all: a good time for good people.

Before I moved to California, my family and I used to come visit my grandparents in Oxnard every couple of years. We also had family in Santa Barbara, so once every trip, we'd drive up there for a day. My grandmother insisted we be back for dinner, which was at 4:30 if she had her druthers. So, in order to avoid having to eat so early, we'd stop on the way home at Golf n Stuff for a round. I had never seen a mini-golf place like it. Any other "course" had tiny, unimaginative structures. But Golf n Stuff had soaring, full size buildings that we could actually walk through. Plus, there was an arcade and snack bar.
A couple of friends and I went there last year. I'm sure we stuck out a little from the families and teenagers, but it was a hoot. Challenging holes and pinball afterwards. Nice way to spend an evening.

Good ol' Golf N' Stuff. It has only aged since I started going there, but the people haven't--they remain minimum wage teenagers who seem to genuinely hate their job, or at least you being there.
But it's a place of nostalgia, as you can seen from come of the other reviews.
If you go on a nice weekend day, plan on being surrounded by kids and stuck behind a family of 8 who make par seem like an impossibility. If you go during the night, plan on being surrounded by teenagers. You'd better really like teenagers if you go on a Friday or Saturday night. Some of them might even bring their kids.
But it maintains 4-star status, because it's not a Boomers and is still fun. I also remember birthday parties there, going there on dates in high school, and more recently taking my niece and nephew there, or on a cutesy date with my fiancee.

Alright, what kid in Ventura county didn't go to at least one birthday party here? My older brother even had his 10th celebration there so I definitely knew that course pretty well as a kid. Having not been there since early days of college on a date with my now-ex, my buddy and I decided to go there a few weeks back as a way to chill outside and escape some of the valley heat on a sunny Saturday afternoon. The course has not changed much, although the fact that some of the ponds were completely drained definitely detracted from the overall course.
The arcade also pissed me off because we only found out after cashing in $10 for tokens that basically everything we would ever want to play was out of order so that was pretty lame (I mean seriously...EVERY single skee ball lane needs to be repaired at once?! Nice upkeep!)
But, as the closest and most familiar "family fun center" to me in Thousand Oaks, I'm sure I'll keep going back to be berated by the grouchy teenage employees for years to come.

Ahh, Golf N' Stuff. During my high school days, the place to go on the weekends. The place to get your arcade fix on. I never went for miniature golf, but always went for the video games and go-karts.
Alas, safety became an issue in the late 90's, early 00's that I stopped going. When you need armed security guards at a place for the "family" to enjoy, I'd rather not go.
Overall, safety issues aside, it can be a good, fun experience without the rowdy kids ruining it for the rest of the patrons.

Opening in 1974 - this amusement park has been around all my life. Although I hadn't been there in 20 years(?), I got the hair brained idea to take my dad for a make-shift Father's Day before I headed back to San Diego.
Complete with two miniature golf courses, bumper cars, bumper boats, gas powered indy cars and a full arcade, Man, this place has not changed one bit.! (aside from the hippo and elephant that grace the blue dyed water that runs throughout the park.) Golf N' Stuff offers family entertainment for fairly low prices.
As we walked in, the smell of popcorn wafted through the air, the sound of children laughing and screaming surrounded us and the determined look on my dad's face to beat me was the same face I used to see all those years ago...
We got our golf clubs and hit the course... First hole - I actually got a birdie, while dad made par...impressive right? lol... I guess so, if you're 8! But even though, I had a great start... dad kicked my butt in the end! I guess that was fitting since it WAS our Father's Day!
Next up, the Indy cars - for a race I've been preparing for since I was 16! We both got the front row of cars and the green light hit! I was waved out of the gate first - and although the pedal was to the metal (literally!) my car spit and sputtered, but didn't go nearly fast enough! I was in the clear though, because dad's row or cars was the third row released.... so I was way ahead of the game! Throughout the "race" I came super close to lapping my dad.... lol! Cheating? maybe. Fulfilling? Absolutely!
Okay, so it wasn't REALLY a race... but it was sure fun seeing my dad on the other side of the track the whole time. The best part of the day was we laughed and giggled making stupid competitive remarks the whole time. Really - the BEST part was just spending some time with my dad. Something I don't get to do often, and I NEVER get to do it without others around... or the tv on... or the phone ringing.
We've since decided to make it our annual Father-Daughter date day for Father's Day and I am already looking forward to next year.

The bumper boat water was appallingly disgusting. Half of the arcade games didn't work. Staff was pretty distant and ignored us while we stood right in front of them waiting to order drinks. All of the ponds on the mini-golf courses were drained. Overall, not a place worth going too. The mini-golf courses WERE pretty tight but the lack of water sort of killed it since they were so obviously geared around the aquatic decor.

i actually had a lot fo fun here, so many mini golf/arcade type of places are so outdated and dirty/decaying, but this one is very clean and modern-esque. A decent fun course and the go carts were pretty fun as well. Looks like a good quality arcade in side though i just walked through. definately a good place to go kill time and hang out and have a simple good time.

Fun, fun, fun!! We live in Ventura, and if we ask our kids where they want to go, it's always Golf-n-Stuff! Of course, it's great putting practice, but there's also bumper boats & cars, little indy cars, video games, and skeeball (my personal favorite). I wouldn't suggest going late on a Friday or Saturday night, because the guests are a bit... unseemly, but any other time it's a lot of fun.
