Yes they are expensive, but yes they do great work.  I usually only bring my nicer things here.  I've had 2 long bridesmaids dresses altered here in the past 2 years, and now am having my 3rd.  The last 2 had major fit issues in multiple areas and 3 layers to hem.  I spent around $150 for all of the alterations, but otherwise I wouldn't have wanted to wear either dress in public!!  I have a long torso and each time I was several months out from having a baby so those reasons were part of the problem, and the dresses fit weird!  Each time I have been very happy with the results and got compliments on how great the dress/I looked at the weddings.  Everyone at Golden Needle has been very friendly each time I go and if the prices were lower, I'd go there for everything because I've seen what they can do.

I initially enjoyed working with Inci, who is also the on-site tailor at The Bustle.  However, her work was subpar, my bustle broke, and overpriced. My bustle broke literally a few moments after bustling the dress at my wedding, during the first few seconds into my choreographed first dance! It was not stepped on nor got caught on anything (I have the video footage). The bustle was simply not created strong enough to hold up my dress.

I alerted the Bustle soon after my wedding to my disappointing experience, and let me know that they asked Inci to refund me the amount of the bustle. That all sounded great, however, the seamstress only refunded me $70 of my over $640 in alterations costs.  She also would not commit to any reimbursement over the phone and I just have a bad taste in my mouth from the whole experience. I recently just became really incensed about this whole incident because not only was I unable to fully dance and enjoy my wedding reception because of the broken bustle, but the dress also was so horrendously dirty from being dragged around all night that I just learned my cleaning costs are now hundreds more! I was not really satisfied with the Golden Needle Tailor nor The Bustle's handling of my situation.

It is important to note that I did not need any major alterations to my dress, so the total alteration costs really consisted of my bustle and slightly taking in the dress and putting in cups. I wish I knew how overpriced the alterations were before I just went with the Bustle's recommendations. I would suggest to look elsewhere for your bridal alterations for a better price point, and more importantly, quality work!

Excellent tailors and seamstresses work here and will do a nice job for a fairly reasonable price.

The owner of Golden Needle is fabulous and kind, and she and her staff do a fantastic job with alterations. I have taken many, many pieces to be altered -- some which were quite involved -- over the years and I have always had great experiences.  This tailor is wonderful.

I've been here several times to have items hemmed or seams repaired. The work has previously been fine, not spectacular but it's close to my house and I've never needed anything complicated done. I dropped off some simple hem/repair items and was told they would be ready in a week. I showed up a day later than the items were supposed to have been done (my one opportunity to pick up given my work schedule and their hours) and they hadn't even started my order. They smiled and asked me to pick them up later that day which I was unable to do. No real apology. Just kind of acted like it wasn't a big deal. The part that really irritates me is that they take your phone number. Had they called to let me know they were behind schedule, it would have been no problem but instead I had to use up the one hour I had free to go over there and find out in person. I took my items elsewhere and won't be returning.

Sincerely unimpressed by the way in which this business is run. Not only is it extremely over priced, but the customer service is beyond subpar. I brought two skirts to be altered. I was told they would be ready in a week. When the week was up, I went in to pick up my articles, and they hadn't even started them. I asked why she hadn't called me to let me know that they would take longer than expected, and the owner just told me that she "doesn't call clients when items will take longer" and that she just tells them when they come in on the originally scheduled day, to tell the client that the items would take longer....needless to say, I was flabbergasted. I cannot fathom how someone can run a business in this fashion. Maybe some patrons are ok being treated with utter disrespect, but I did not appreciate her bedside manner

Words cannot express how grateful I am to this incredibly generous family.  My custom-made wedding dress arrived the week before my wedding and was 2 inches too small (despite losing weight since the fitting).  In desperation and despair, I ran straight to the Golden Needle.  Not only were they able to find - millimetre by millimetre - 2" in the bodice (I didn't even have to resort to Spanx!).  They also managed to:
*Calm my nerves with their kindness,
*Perform this miracle in 2 days,
*Do such an incredible job that you would never know there had been a problem (and there were lace appliques all along the seam)!
     *Charge a very reasonable price.

I am forever indebted to the life-savers at Golden Needle.

My review is only in regard to pricing, since I chose not to use this tailor after getting a quote. I was quoted $120 for shortening a hem on a 2-layer chiffon dress -- they explained that the high price was due to the chiffon. I will leave it up to you to decide whether this is decent for you and/or market rate for the area, but I had this hem taken care of in Texas for $30.

I first discovered Inci when looking to get some alterations done for my wedding dress.  She and her staff did a FABULOUS job and my dress fits perfect.  Inci was sure to call me to remind me of my appointment for the next fitting and helped me find beautiful satin buttons for the back of my dress.  Her work is great and I can't wait to wear the dress for my wedding.  I've gone to a number of tailors and she's by far my favorite.  They are so warm and welcoming and you can tell that they have a vested interest in making sure the piece fits perfect and will look great.  I have a handful of other clothing and already have plans to stop by and drop off a few dresses, jackets and skirts.

Inci and her staff at the Golden Needle are amazing! We are a local Bridal Boutique that has been using Inci for the four years that we have been open.  Anyone in the bridal industry knows the difficulty connected to altering a wedding gown, but her skills are unebelievable.  Her skills are great and her warm personality is even better.  We have never had an unhappy bride and her custom bustles are to die for! The Golden Needle has worked on our couture bridal gowns as well as gained future clients as our brides were too impressed.  Some have taken their daily alterations to her after their wedding.  She is such a sweet lady to work with and we couldn't imagine working with anyone else. She has helped us make many wedding dreams come true! -The Bustle

Great friendly service. I took in a pair of jeans to be tapered and a plaid shirt to be fitted and they both turned out perfect. Yes it was a bit on the expensive side, but it was well worth it.

I've been a regular customer of Golden Needle since Inge took in my wedding dress nearly 6 years ago.  I've had just about every type of work done there from hems to knits to my wedding dress. The do good quality work.  I'm a big fan of making things fit right and Inge and her team does the job!

The shop is on the tight side, but parking is never a problem and you can get in and out in a few minutes.

This is the best tailor I have ever been to. I have had dresses, pants, jeans, etc, be hemmed, fixed, etc. You can NEVER tell...their work is excellent and perfectly done. They do charge a fair amount, but it's worth it. I have nice clothes and I want them done well. Parking is never an issue and the owner is very friendly.

I was referred to this place a few years back and will only go here for alterations now.  It's probably a little expensive, but I love the service and they always do such a great job.  Although some of the people don't speak the best English, they are all really nice.  The owner who is usually the one there to pin your items speaks English the best.

To have pants shortened or hemmed is $12.  I took in my wedding dress to have it shortened and have a bustle added and it cost around $300.  I had a bridesmaid dress shortened and it was $60.

I've never used the dry cleaning service.

Very overpriced....Be careful!!  Not to say they dont do good work but at 2x the cost of others, NO THANKS! They charged $30 a pair of pants to take in the waist an inch (more than what the pants cost...lesson learned on my part, my bad).  Shop around!

Took a significantly too big $400 designer skirt here a couple of years ago and they did a fantastic job.
