Pros: Affordable. Walking distance to Americana shops which is cooler than you think it's going to be, and beats being stuck in the where you can't walk to anything.
Cons: Wireless is totally unreliable and basically unusable. This seems to happen at every motel I stay at. Why is it that no motel can get the wi-fi thing done right?
DO NOT STAY HERE. Period. We looked for a hotel on our gps unit and got directed to the Golden Key which used to be a Best Western. Groggy-eyed after a late night of driving we checked and went straight to bed. At around 2:30 I heard a strange gurgling sound and this went on every half hour or so. The room started to reek and in my haze I couldn't figure out what was going on. Come early a.m. when I couldn't sleep anymore I got up and turned the lights on. There was black liquid in the sink - SEWAGE.
I asked the guy at the front desk to reimburse the room but he said all he could do was $20 off. He allowed me to leave a note for the manager. I was supposed to hear from the manager a day later but no word. I then left multiple messages and the manager called me back today -- almost 10 days later!
He told me I should've come down in the middle of the night (was sort of out of it at the time!) and that I was entitled to a free night's stay.
Another night of sewage? I don't think so...not sure why they didn't think this warranted immediate attention...pretty distrubing.
