Thank you for not cooking
Consistently fast for pick up
Consistently yummy
Consistently smiling when you walk in
Our standard order is beef and string beans- great black bean sauce not too salty not too sweet
Pork fried rice
Wonton
Egg rolls
The combo platters are a great deal!
We have tried the chicken lettuce wraps - fresh and filling, happy family meal,
Spring rolls, meh usually a little soggy in the center
And the rest of the apps are great
Stay well-go local-and get thanked for not cooking here every time!Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Sep 5, 2020
The door says this is one of the top rated Chinese restaurants in the Tampa Bay Area and I totally agree!! They are only open for takeout now but the food speaks for itself. They have a delicious selection of Asian fusion cuisine which gives you plenty of options above and beyond your normal
Chinese food options. I had the Malaysian noodles, which were spiced perfectly and were absolutely amazing, my wife had mild Malaysian chicken curry which had a good amount of spice where it was enjoyable without making you sweat too much . This will definitely be our new go to Asian food spot! Thank you!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aug 24, 2017Updated review
My thoughts for this place have changed a lot. We have been now maybe 3 or 4 times and I can't say I am impressed at all. The reason being include service, price per portion and just the all around quality.
The biggest issue I have is the portion sizes for the food are not equivalent to the price.
This time around I ordered the special with chicken pork and shrimp with pan fried noodles. The pan fried noodles looked like a mini frisbee and was useless to eat. It tasted like a deep fried dirty grill.
In addition, the sunrise beef with pea pods were ordered and walnut chicken with broccoli. For $40, this was not worth it. The size was more for a lunch special than anything else.
We will pass this place by. We have gone one too many times, but not anymore.Helpful 12Thanks 0Love this 7Oh no 0Aug 19, 2016Previous reviewThank You for not cooking is how they will greet you here, and with a welcoming smile! Quite amusing. We have lived in this area for a handful of years and can't believe we have never eaten here. Just got simple quick take out!
From the outside, it is unassuming and looking like the usual simple same take out. When you come in and look at the menu, they have like pages upon pages of options. They have Chinese, Thai, Malaysian, Vietnamese to name a few. We were pretty excited.
First thing that my hubby saw was salt and pepper calamari. He got that in an instant. Fresh lobster called my name.
Both were so so good! My lobster with ginger scallion was far from the basic usual warm butter! I loved the flavor and that the meat was already nicely cracked and prepared for me, and it came with choice of rice as well which I picked fried!
At the end, they give you a complimentary dessert either honey bananas or donuts! We picked donuts which were nice and warm. It was a cherry on top!
We will be back for sure to try many of their inviting options!Jun 24, 2012Previous reviewJust pretty bland, not exciting, nothing hit the spot. Wanted to try something did by my house but I have to stick w the same place. I had shrimp and vegetables, and my husband had sweet and sour chicken, both came with fried rice or noodles. The rice and noodles were plan with nothing but rice or noodles no veggies or really much seasoning maybe just soy sauce.

If you want to have good Southeast Asia Spice food, this is good restaurant to go to. I was visiting this restaurant ten years ago before my Yelp day. At then they just average restaurant, but now the menu extended and the food is good. Big improvement.
The owner is from Malaysia. They do have good Southeast Asian food. The Singapore thin rice noodle special has good curry spice like home. The spice is deep and relentless. The appetizer is the clam with black bean sauce. Each clam is big. The black bean sauce is right one. Most Chinese cooking using the sweet base black bean sauce but I like this restaurant in salt base.
Our special of the day is the butterfly Shrimp. The shrimp was butterfly wrap with bacon then mixed with scrambled egg and top with peanut. This dish is delicious. Since the menu was extended, it good to try them all.Helpful 8Thanks 0Love this 8Oh no 0 - Steve K.Lutz, FL08113Sep 9, 2021
We love this place but it looks like as of 8/31 they have closed their doors. I know they had issues with closures due to staff shortages a few months ago but now it looks permanent. Crying shame as this was one of the better Chinese restaurants in the area.

If you can find a better Chinese restaurant please tell me. Been looking in Tampa Bay for almost 5 years and had to go to Lutz! Excellent pot-stickers and won ton soup to start. Mongolian Beef was the real treat, great cut of meat and sauce.
Happy Phoenix was very tasty too.
Decent egg rolls and the complimentary sugar donuts were very good to close. Will be back regardless of the trip time to get here.
Seats are comfortable and the atmosphere is casual and relaxed, clean, quiet, but very simple.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Wayne S.Leesburg, FL184621Aug 19, 2021
Not very good soup had no flavor very bland. Same for the seafood delight. I would not go back. Very poor quality. Friendly staff. But the food sucks.

I wanted this to be a 4 star review but Golden Inn failed me again. I waited a year between visits and figured this time it would be better Han the first which was a 1 star experience.
My food was a bit bland compared to most Chinese and when a local takeout has better quality It's a sad day. I'm not sure what you're doing wrong Golden Inn but please improve so I can have a great Chinese restaurant close to home!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Kamille H.Tampa, FL280228566Mar 19, 2018
First time here!
A friend who lives not far from here invited me out for a late lunch. I arrived before her around 1pm and there were about 2 other couples in the restaurant but the takeout stand was constantly busy.
Aesthetically it looks like any other Chinese takeout place but larger with more seating. I sat down and browsed the extensive menu not really searching for anything in particular. I settled on the Princess fried rice and omg!!! This was the best fried rice I have ever tasted. It has chicken and raisins in it which at first may raise your eyebrow but GET IT. I was so pleased with this dish and it is definitely something I crave ever since then.
My friend got the Pad Thai which she said was good but not as good as Benjarong Thai on Dale Mabry. Our service was awesome and the lady greeting everyone kept saying "thanks for not cooking" which I thought was funny. I will definitely be returning here and may stop at the nail shop next to it.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Heather S.Lutz, FL01824Jun 20, 2020
I've been coming to golden inn for years and it's always so delicious. Very top quality take out, I've never had a single thing that was bad in all these years! They are so very sweet, friendly, and efficient.
