Whenever my girlfriend and I visit her family in Milwaukee, Golden Gyros is the first place we need to go. The food is a ridiculously good, greasy, fried mound of happiness. My perfect meal: A gyro, fries, and the flavor of the day all enjoyed in the comfort of the warm car. This was my first experience with frozen custard, and it has forever ruined me for pansy-@$$ ice cream.
The gyro for the long plane ride home is also crucial!
This is a place where atmosphere does not factor in.
Milwaukee amazed me yet again when a new co-worker of mine took me to Golden Gyros. There is a reason they are called "golden", but you have to go there and find out for yourself. Little pricey, but worth every penny.
AMAZING as a gyro can get.
This place has the best fast food ever. The chicken shish-ka-bob is awesome and so are their gyros. You get a TON of meat on them you can alway split with someone. They also have a good fish fry and their salad is yummy and affordable.
The custard is also the best. I love their flavors of the day!!
This little custard stand offers up some of the best burgers and gyros around. While they tend towards a bit on the greasy side, the food is prepared fresh and in sight, by cooks who really move. It's amazing to see them cooking up a bunch of orders all at the same time, keeping it all straight, and it comes out really well. The burgers are of the giant "Kopps style" many Milwaukeeans are familiar with, but they've got a bit of a different flavor. I don't think you can go away from this place hungry.
This is a pretty good fast food joint. I haven't gotten around to trying the ice cream, but the food we've gotten is always pretty good. The Greek salad is especially excellent with a light dressing, plenty of feta chunks and peprocinis at a good price.
