this is one of our favourite places to eat.  the food is QUITE good and covers a WIDE array of choices.

my husband is a red meat eater, so he always has lots to choose from.  i prefer fish, chicken, broccoli, cauliflower and boiled cabbage, so that is what i load up on.  i like the fact that it is all you can eat [while you're there, of course].  no take-out.

although the place is normally ALWAYS crowded, if you have a large party and call in advance to reserve a spot, it will be there waiting for you.

one year we held a family party there -- with over 10 people who came from all up and down the I-5 corridor.

the first time we ate at a golden corral was in tucson in 2004, when we went to visit my cousin.  my husband said that there was one in marysville, so as soon as we got back from our trip we went there.  it was under the old kitchen -- it had not been updated like the tucson one, but in june of that year, it got updated.

Not bad if you're hungry.
I just wish they'd give me more meat and not be so stingy with it.
I have to walk it off just going back up for more so it's like exercise.
Good place to take the family if you got a bunch of fat kids or teenagers eating you out of house and home.

This is 3.5 stars, really...

When I was a kid, we used to go to buffets A LOT. Like almost on a weekly basis. I found out from mom that it was because it was free for kids to eat on certain nights.

My dad wanted to come up here for a family dinner (presumably because he has seen so many commercials of this place) so we headed up to Marysville. I live in Everett so it wasn't much of a drive for me :-)

When we finally arrived, there was a freakin charter bus pulling up int he parking lot. My Boyfriend said "Let's hope they are only using the bathroom", but as the people filed out, i thought "yeah right". We got into line to wait, my sister and her husband hadn't arrived. I think we waited about 15 minutes to get through the line (they have a huge banquet room inside for groups), in that time frame our missing party members showed up, and we were seated at the back.

I haven't visited a buffet for probably a good 5 years now, and I still remember as a kid LOVING King's Table. Golden Corral reminded me a lot of King's Table, as far as food quality went.

I don't even want to think about all of the food I had tried, but they have something for everyone- salad, soup, carbs, meats, fried foods, dessert...They had Taco salad, clam chowder, green bean casserole, ribs, meatloaf, spaghetti, a few cajun options (it was cajun night), fried shrimp, chicken, pot roast, seafood salad, mac and cheese, a pizza bar, mini burgers...among others, the possibilities are endless, and it takes a certain level of self control not to "strap on a feedbag" and gorge yourself like a cow chewing it's cud.
(My dad made the comment that they were packin people in like cattle... cattle: golden corral... coincidence? I think not!)
They were alternating out dishes so that there wasn't always the same thing the second time you came back around.
And steak, cooked in front of you to your desired doneness.
The steak alone is worth the 10.99 sticker price. The sodas are OVERPRICED though at 2.50 i think. I would suggest drinking water with your meal to save calories!  The dessert was mediocre compared to the actual food.

The food quality is surprisingly good for a buffet. My advice- Start with a big, healthy green salad, and go from there :-) I'm still full today from last night!

All you can eat steak...all you can eat desserts...best buffet selection out there. Not expensive either!

I had the notion that there would be steaks in hot lights, all kinds lined end to end . No, not during lunch time. This is not like the Golden Corral of the Midwest where they would have station upon station to chose from. But they did have many homey favorites such as pot roast, meat loaf, fried chicken. The senior special cannot be beat. Unfortunately, I am not a senior yet. I expected too much from this joint but I did leave extremely stuffed and happy. Oh and convenient hand sanitizer dispensers everywhere...great idea!

Wow... I didn't know that there was a Golden Corral somewhat-close to Seattle.  I thought it was only in Spokane.  Located in the boonies, it should be called Hicktown.  The place was so busy but luckily my group snagged a booth seat.  Salad option was decent - but why chop a whole tomato in fourths rather than getting cherry tomatoes?

The mashed potatoes, au gratin, macaroni, corn and corn on the cob was good.  I would've tried the green beans but one of my friends had a LONG strand of hair in hers.  The rolls there are SOO GOOOOD!  I guess it was already buttered on top but I added some margarine on it.  *droooool*  If I wasn't so full, I would've eaten another roll.  It was big, soft, light and oh-so-delish.  The fried chicken was not too bad.  The special of the day was Applewood (or something like that) but it didn't look too appetizing to me.  My friends got a shrimp wrapped in bacon thing and one of them spit it out saying that it tasted bad.  Eep!  This was the same girl that got the hair in her green beans.  She wasn't having a good day.

The dessert looks tasty from afar but I didn't see anything worth eating once I got a close-up.  I did nibble on a chocolate chip cookie which wasn't too bad and had some of my friend's slice of cake, which was alright too.

I definitely prefer Izzy's - I know that they some of the food is different but I love Izzy's salad bar and warm foods.  And I LOVE their chocolate chip cookies.  The dinner price is a little cheaper (and there are always coupons that go out in the Val-Paks).  Plus, Izzy's is in Everett which makes it much closer to the rest of society.

And interesting observation, I swear that 80% of the people at Golden Corral are overweight if not obese while the people that go to Izzy's are in much better shape.  Hm.

I worked at this location for a year and I can proudly say I still love eating there. The staff keeps things clean, sanitary, fresh, the food out on the bar is constantly being rotated with clean dishes, fresh food, etc. Very comforting to find that in a salad bar!
The salad bar is delicious, so many choices for your salad! Additionally the hamburgers are really good, along with their side dishes. The dessert bar has an amazing amount of choices. It's a little spendy to eat there these days, but it's a good place for buffet. :)

Oh, what can I say about this place? I am torn between understanding quality verses price. What I mean is the Golden Corral is an American buffet in Marysville. ::drumming fingers:: Right....  Kind of self explanatory...?

Okay, maybe I was just envisioning a different kind of restaurant, maybe I was expecting something else, or maybe I just believe in good buffets, but this was just boring. Okay, okay - all you can eat meat and we did visit during the seafood "extravaganza" so I had all I could eat breaded shrimp.

But it's an American buffet in Marysville. A cheap American buffet. Worth it to some, but I think I'll just save my $11 and go some place new.

Ok, I was getting tired of seeing commercials from out of reach places such as Dave and Busters, Ruby Tuesdays, Sonic, and this place Golden Corral. I don't quite remember how I found out there was one in Marysville. The hubby and I were meaning to come here so that I can show him how much better this place is than OCB (Old Country Buffet). I grew up with Golden Corral while living in NM. I had a friend who's mom worked there, so we would come in our HS year and get free meals. So on a whim we drove out to Marysville to give GC our monies. The place was pretty busy even at 3 something in the afternoon! The drinks are in a bigger cup, and you also have to pay for it extra at the time you pay for your meal. Pay before you grub. The food was all good and had home cooked feel to it. Hot food stayed hot, and cold stayed cold.  Definitely not located in any metropolis, this whole place had small town America written all over it. With the patrons, and the city we were no longer in Seattle, Toto! I definitely enjoyed GC, the food was good and it does definitely stomp out OCB! You can get steaks made to order to your liking, today was Carver's Table, definitely lots of carved meat options, which is the theme for today, they usually have different themes everyday.
The salad bar was fresh and cold. The desserts were good and there was definitely a better variety. I even took home a napkin full of the after dinner butter mints! LOL! Overall, i would definitely come back to GC, the drive especially on a warm spring day is pretty nice. The staff are all friendly and nice. The prices are pretty good, you definitely get what you pay for.

As a frequent OCB customer because I live in Lynnwood and never knew a Golden Corral existed until Yelp.  I must say that I am very impressed with this place.  We drove up to Marysville from Lynnwood two weekends ago on a Saturday night. We arrived at 5:30PM for dinner and there wasn't a line yet, however the place was packed.  Unlike OCB, you have to pay for drinks separately and it's not included in the price of the buffet.  For two us, it came to a little over $28.00 dollars which by the end of dinner, we both thought was a steal for all that you get.

First things first, there is a steak bar, where a guy stands behind the grill who will grill your beef to your specification.  The mashed potatoes are HOME MADE, compare that with OCB.  This place is a steak lovers paradise, don't expect the MET quality but for the price you'll pay here, you won't be disappointed.  They also have grilled chicken, pizza, pasta/salad bar and the typical other selections at dinner buffets.

My recommendation is to go early, by the time we left at 7:00PM, there was close to 30 people in line waiting to get in.  Good food, loud atmosphere, great prices.  We will be back the next time we're in the neighborhood.  Maybe it's a good reason to make a trip to the Tualip outlets this weekend, I do need a pair of running shoes! :)

This, ladies and gentlemen, is my favorite buffet.  Blows OCB out of the water.  It is all remodelled now and harder to dine and dash with ease (pay BEFORE you eat?  What is this nonsense?) but whatever.  I've got a job for a reason I guess.

Pretty much just like the one in NC that my parents used to go to all the time.  Pretty clean.  We had a really nice server.  You can get steaks!  I think GC is a lot better than OCB (Old Country Buffet).  It's kinda out of the way though up in Marysville.  Maybe combine it with a trip to Tulalip.

I see commercials for this place all the time on tv and dismissed them like I do all commercials I believe are useless because they dont have one 50 miles radius of where I live  i.e. Dave & Busters, cici's pizzas. But I was having a casual talk with a co-worker and he said he went here the other night, what?! Of course I verify with yelp and we were off this weekend to check this hidden gem out. Well I guess its not hidden, as I discovered by other reviews here and when I arrived....I took ppl's tips and came early, really early for dinner at 4pm. When we got there it was still super packed! There were at least 50 ppl in line. It took us about 40 mins to be seated. But it was worth the wait due to the excitement of eating here for the first time and of course the food! This place is like old country buffet BUT the quality is much much better. Instead of the taste of frozen foods heated up, all the food here is great and fresh tasting. They have non stop steaks cooking up and they ask you how you want it! Just like all others here, the steaks are awesome for the price your paying for your whole meal. Servers are very attentive cleaning up plates and refilling sodas way ahead of time and deserve a tip, even for a buffet. Prices are great, on par with old country. Only reason this doesnt get 5 stars is because it is still a 30 mile drive out (not their fault) and seating is crammed like sardines. The ppl seated next to us had a table literally 1 foot from ours, just a little close. But I understand, considering how popular this place is, might as well cash in and get as many tables in their. They should really expand the dining room, they would fill it up quickly. We will be back here for sure.

Golden Corral is the best buffet around these parts. Stay clear of the Old Country Buffet and drive up north to this gem. Bring your appetite and be sure to savor the great steak (for the price) and to die for mac n cheese, oh and eat some o the fried okra, mmmmm. Service it what you'd expect as well as the dining company, lots of blue collar girthyness.

I used to go to golden corral almost every other week when I was stationed in in GA.  Great price and good food and all you can eat steak/burger/pork chop is pretty great.  I was happy to find that there is one in WA...probably the only one in the entire west coast...after we shopped at the premium outlet, we stopped by and again, happy to find that the price is the same ($10- dinner) as other golden corrals in the south, and food quaility was the same.  I hope more golden corrals open up, it will definately kill other buffet/steak restaurants like sizzler/old country/ruby tuesday

I just noticed that it says formal attire required.  I have NO idea why it says that on there.  This is a blue collar restaurant through and through and there are lots of folks in their blue collar work clothes during the lunch hour.  Go in whatever you happen to be wearing.  My husband and I have gone in paint splattered clothes after a rough day remodeling.

I hate to tell anyone about this restaurant because it is always packed and it is my favorite.  It is a typical buffet but with one addition.  they have all you can eat steak that is made to order!  I love steak and this steak is really good for any restaurant, let alone a buffet.  On the weekends they also have jumbo fried shrimp.  It is a great buffet, but on the weekends, don't try to come after 6, it is really packed and their can be a line out the door, but well worth it.
