I've eaten here several times (well, more like I order ahead and pick it up to eat at the comfort at my own home). I haven't tried it yet, but they also do delivery!
I usually order their Chicken Chow Mein, and believe me, it kicks ass! I love it. Food is moderately priced, but you get some pretty nice portions.
I recently came in to order a party portion (10 servings) of their Chicken Chow Mein. The pricing was surprisingly awesome; $25.xx after taxes. It was in the size of the aluminum baking pans. Two days later, I come in at the time I set, it was already waiting for me on their table. It was super fresh and HOT (carrying it out, it was burning my arms!). Driving the next 30 mins. to my friend's house was torture. The aroma was MMmM! Needless to say, the Chicken Chow Mein was a hit; everyone enjoyed it.
Service: They are just nice people. Always greeting me when I walk through the door, saying "Goodbye" when I leave. They're those people who are so sweet and nice, that you WANT to give them your business! I highly recommend this place. Hidden out in a small town of Ripon, it's worth the drive. -

Why can't I find Chinese food this good in S.F?
I have to go all the way out to the 209??
Whenever I go to visit my grandma we walk over to Golden Bowl for chinese food.
I love the Garlic chicken..Its crispy, pungent, garlicky. The General Tso chicken kicks ass too.
The best foil wrapped chicken Ive eaten. Thay are really big and HOT! watch your fingers when you unwrap it.. I use my chopsticks.
Everything I've eaten here has been hella good. always hot and fresh and they give you enough to feed an army.
If you go with family or a group order the family dinner "C" for 5... you'll be set! -

I wasn't as good as I remembered back 3-4 years ago. It may be that I remembered it under its previous owners.
We ordered chicken chow mein and beef over assorted vegetables. The food was bland requiring lots of soy or hot sauce. The noodles were very short, I'm used to the long noodles. The beef was bland and not tender at all.
The service was prompt, but it took the server forgot to get my chop sticks. The chairs are uncomfortable and the linens aren't changed often because are table was stained with food along the sides.
The menu would benefit from some pictures to show the popular items. Don't intend to eat at this place again. I can probably make better Chinese food at home. I know a recipe or two. Especially for sweet and sour chicken. -

Wow I can't believe how many people like this place!
To Karlee D. I don't know why you can't find a Chinese Restaurant in Chinatown that is not better than this you must be lost or blind or don't know your way around or something because this place I would have to say is terrible. I think the reason people come here is because there is no Panda Express in Ripon. Obviously the area does not know what real Chinese Food is. The first time I had it was a terrible experience it was delivery to my parents house and I just got home from work and the delivery guy just arrived. I am thinking to myself awesome some fresh Chinese Food....WRONG. This stuff was just a cheap imitation of Panda Express but soggy. I'm not a person to judge someone on first impression so I decided to go take a friend on a date here. The service was bad. The only nice guy was the delivery guy and he wasn't even there. If you like Panda Express and you don't want to drive to Modesto don't come here you will be disappointed. Just stay away from this place -

I remember one time I went there, I had about 5-6 of my friends. Their dinning hall was very small and we took up half the room. The service wasn't that great either. Every time we asked for our waiter, they said, "Give us a second." Didn't know why they were rushing around when there was only one other table who was there, who barely fit in the room. Golden Bowls food I feel doesn't have much taste and is expensive. Their menu is okay but the service was poor. Their food was iffy, I like greasy Chinese food, they made their food dry and hard. I would not recommend this place for a sit down restaurant and the take out, is not the best I have had.

Ok, I hate Chinese food but Golden Bowl is actually really good! Why do I hate Chinese food? It's typically greasy and everything on the plate tastes exactly the same except for usually the fried rice tastes like nothing. With the exception of Golden Bowl. I came here with my parents for lunch(they requested Chinese) so I went along. None of us had been to Golden Bowl but we have gone to the place across the street; New China...yuck. I was needless to say grouchy and not thrilled with getting a flavorless greasy plate as usual to my pleasant surprise! The sweet and sour pork was so fresh it was still crispy and not drowned in sauce. The Chicken Chow Mein actually had visible large pieces of Chicken and the Fried Rice was yummy and full of flavor. Oh and I didn't receive a typical stale fortune cookie that I do anywhere else. The guy that wrote about Panda Express...gross..talk about not fresh, yuck! Golden Bowl is great, take it from someone that hates Chinese food!
